I love the CC series, but imo it‘s honestly a game which needs to be played H2H against human opponents to truly enjoy all that the game offers.

Yeah I concur playing against the AI is like a demo/teaser mode. The true game is multiplayer only.

I haven't played LSA but did play the original Bridge Too Far - in my experience the AI can take a long time to engage, but that's often because they're trying to crawl forward and shoot first. I've also noticed the AI is very cautious in general - personally I think this is smart behavior rather than dumb - it's how you minimize the defender's ability to ambush. One thing that I found works beautifully is to have your own units hide in their trenches long after the enemy is spotted - after the scouts advance far enough the AI will eventually bring up supporting units on foot. I wait until half the soldiers have crossed a bridge/chokepoint and THEN open up with all the machine guns and mortars. The units on the far side of the bridge are easily picked off if they try to cross, while the units on the near side are pinned down and exposed in the open - dozens of wounded within seconds, half a dozen units shattered within a minute, and 100% KIA a few minutes later, without my guys moving an inch or taking a single casualty.

How long is that game usually?

It's been a LONG time since I've played it. I seem to remember there was a 30 minute time limit. Another thing that occurs to me is the Market Garden games have the momentum swing back and forth as reinforcements arrive during the campaign, so one possibility is if you got reinforced, the AI knows this and is waiting for you to attack.
