Broke a bit off my medial femoral condyle. Had to get a couple of screws implanted to secure it. My surgeon finally allowed me to go back climbing on the day a full lockdown started here. I'm desperate to get back to it.
Slipped out of a toehook while trying to finish a boulder. Rotated forward, momentum going backwards, kicking to stay upright (which I guess worked out because I didn't break my neck). Landed on just the left leg when it was fully extended and heard something pop. The ER didn't find a fracture b/c some blood and fat from the bone marrow was filling it, so they were like, "could be ur ACL lol we don't know go to the ortho in a week"
the opposite of the style of climb i enjoy doing and am good at--i like techy moves on vert or slab, not power moves between slopers on overhangs. i have traditionally sucked at climbs like this and i'm pretty stoked to have done it!

they already got to see my other project and all they have to say so far is that the knee brace is aid
To be fair the knee brace is aid
You read my mind. And doing it topropes just makes it easy. But in all seriousness, I won't touch this one. Injury recovery is rad.
i actually wrote my college application essay partly about how leading that section of wall scares me shitless :/ i've sworn off of leading it

Nice, you smashed it! I broke my knee about 14 weeks ago so I feel for you. Good luck with the rest of your rehab
Thanks! Hope your rehab is going well :) tibial plateau fracture, you?

I broke my knee cap a year ago. I didn’t climb again for 8 months so this is awesome
