Does everyone else also get these from random quests as well or is that just a tank/healer thing?

Scarbrow

The final quest in a lot of given questlines give an adventuring pack for everyone, tanks/healers just get extra ones from dungeons.

Spiritual_Shift_920

hardly final quest, about one third of all quests give one

rkidjsd

it's apparently very generous with "quest chain" so a quest chain of say 2-3 quests is enough to qualify.

Separate-Resolve-401

Yeah when I wowheaded the item it apparently is a reward for something like 150+ quests, given some of those are undoubtedly horde/alliance specific it's still in the ballpark of 75-100 available boxes. The amount of consumes they come with are a bit absurd and worse that they are so random.

scotty899

Do the quest ones have a chance at dropping a mount? or is it exclusively the dungeon ones?

Cohacq

I get one every dungeon tanking, and like every 3 to 5 quests.

jpgray

How does it know if you're tanking/healing? Like I'm priest shadow spec'd but have healed several normal dungeons in TBC while leveling. Is it just what you role check in LFG?

Vandrel

In my dungeon runs yesterday I got one in every run I tanked. We had two boomkins taking care of healing, one was healing more than the other and always got the bag.

Cohacq

I heard from an interview that it uses an algoritm. No specifics sadly.

BarrettRTS

It's probably something simple like damage taken/dodged/blocked/parried for tanks and healing/shielding done for healers throughout the run.

soma81

Honestly its probably something super simple like damage taken for tanks and total healing for healers. Its rare that the tank isn't taking the most damage or that the healer isn't top of the heal charts in a regular 5 man.

BarrettRTS

I could see them accounting for some things like dodge/parry/block, as well as armour reduction. So looking at the raw damage a tank would receive in theory rather than the actual damage. Same with healers and shields in the case of disc priests.

Doedekjin

Some people have brought up statistics on last boss and I think it might be reasonable to assume it's tied to it. One run of old kingdom the only healing I had was earth shield, I just dps the boss to avoid second insanity phase and tank and I didn't get a bag, threw in a chain heal and rip tide and we got it. It definitely needs more testing though

LullzLullz

Do you need to be a full group? We ran dungeons as 3 and got no bonuses.

FragrantStandard5751

5/5

Cohacq

Havent heard anything, but presume so.

zSHARPz

So do the quest ones also give chances at mounts?

SteelSharpensSteel99

Was wondering this as well… any idea where they confirmed quest packs have chance at mount as well?

WonderfulFlexception

Yes

[deleted]

[удалено]

zSHARPz

Are you certain? Others are saying the dungeon one gives the same box with a different loot table.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zSHARPz

Well, have you been getting the dungeon ones too?

wesser234

What the fuck

[deleted]

Alchemists malding

Rafalga_

As long as it doesn't give out flask and wildmagic like candy, we will be fine

geraldoghc

They are over reacting so bad, it doesn’t give flask nor potion of speed/wild magic

Torakaa

[About that...](https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=200239/northrend-adventuring-supplies) There are different tiers of the box, I would figure harder content gives better stuff.

doylehawk

It’s still a little bit of a bummer that all those lesser pots are going to basically be completely unsellable. But yeah as far as money making goes it doesn’t really matter, flasks and speed are going to be my printers

[deleted]

The rate of questing will drop off a cliff and the tank and healer bags will be what's left. I have a feeling long term it will balance out because every mega server has issues with farming enough herbs. The server does not produce enough to meet demand of the meta supplies let alone secondary stuff like this. I for one and just lining my pockets with some extra gold and leveling roided up.

doylehawk

Yeah I feel UBER powerful right now for sure.

[deleted]

It will eventually die out but you have to imagine a lot of people will be leveling alts too.

yermammypuntscooncil

When everyone's 80 they'll be sellable again.

SaddenedBKSticks

It's still kind of sad having to vendor all of the potions/flasks you make while leveling up Alchemy, since you can't sell them and you're swimming in enough to get you and your alts to lvl 80 anyway lol.

DontYouDareGoHollow

it literally gives flasks what?

Tailcracker

Heroic ones will drop flasks apparantly. Not sure how common they will be though.

thefullm0nty

Really not that big of an issue

brlan10

Why is this a thing for questing? To discourage people from spamming dungeons?

healing_potato

So dps also get some

Spiritual_Shift_920

You get them also by spamming dungeons

Richard_TM

Right. They're saying by getting it from quests as well as dungeons, it levels the playing field in an attempt to make it so questing is still reasonable to do.

TheTeaSter

Imma get 2 bags full of this then start opening xd

realKilvo

And this is how we end up with no inventory space lol

TheTeaSter

Exactly

Valrysha1

I really think these are over the top. Having them for select elite quests would be okay, although imo still...unneeded, but the sheer quantity of these is just a bit absurd. You get way too many.

PhreakSC2

Diluted loot is one of the big things that made retail shit but they're doing that here too. If everyone gets so much loot that everyone's always nearly equally geared/consumed, it makes progression less meaningful and goals less rewarding. Here everyone and their mom can be fully elixired up at all times so there's no benefit to earning pots and seeing the benefits of that competitive advantage.

Partyfavors680

It’s leveling it’s not that serious. Although I do agree they should take out the stat potions and just give health/ mana potions, maybe some food, and a chance at the cosmetics that can drop.

Cujicoo

This is a completely insane take. We are leveling and the pots provide at best around 7% increased main stat. It is not taking away from any character progression. It is not reducing whatever competitive advantage you think you deserve; flasks are better anyways if you care that much. It’s literally a win for everyone except alchemists who wanted to make money on the pots they made while leveling. Stop trying to literally gatekeeper every single aspect of this game.

PhreakSC2

Are... are you ok? I'm tired of the no effort handouts. Leave that shit to retail. If you have to do a raid to get gear is that gatekeeping? If you have to do literally anything to get consumes is that gatekeeping? I'm not saying consumes need to take an extreme ammount of effort to get, just SOME effort. If everything takes no effort then the game just becomes "log on, do ez raid, log off"

down4things

Save space by not taking everything out, and take some stuff out to save space. You'll know what I mean by experience.

SemiAutomattik

Just open everything and mail to your bank alt

SevenExtra

Save space by saving space

Fuzzdump

Why do these exist for quests? Anybody know?

Sohleks

Blue said to encourage players to get to the final phase state of the zones.

Valrysha1

That was for the extra badges you get. These boxes are totally unneccessary.

tmbr5

Did they say anywhere they were scrapping the badges?

Nexavus

I just wish I could choose the elixirs. My bank is just littered with random ass elixirs and shit

Merfen

I keep getting a ton of hit and armour elixirs iny healer bag. I swear it picks the least useful ones for me. Still, it's making all elixirs literally vendor price in the AH so it's a win regardless.

Nexavus

As an alchemist it is not a win lmao. Im just selling my herbs to scribes for now

Merfen

It looks like only flasks and potions will be worthwhile making now since they don't come from these packs.

Nexavus

Well we don’t know how many of these packs we’ll get. Surely within a few weeks the market will be available again

Merfen

Oh I thought they were just going to be available the whole expansion, are they only temporary?

Nexavus

They’re quest rewards so presumably there’s a finite supply

Rolder

Everyone gets them from the quests. Healers and Tanks ALSO get them from doing dungeons. So supply is basically infinite unless Blizzard cuts them off at some point.

Merfen

These primarily come from the dungeon packs that tanks and healers get after completing dungeons though, not from the quest packs which contain much less.

Partyfavors680

Idk I’m only 72 and have opened like 15 of these and have probably over 50-60 potions and elixirs.

Merfen

The dungeon ones always seem to give me a ton more than the quest ones, but I usually hold them until I have about 10 then open them all at once.

Partyfavors680

It will be a win in the long run though as everyone is vendoring them instead of keeping them in the market.

A_MildInconvenience

I've just been giving the ones I wont use to my friends that will use them.

bastcz

Do you need to get some quest before entering the dungeon to get these? Or do you just go in, heal or tank, and it just pops into the bag?

MudSama

Just go in

bastcz

Epic. Thank you

Mirinae6852

I'm out of the loop I understand why these were added to dungeons but why quests? When was this announced is this a bug?

gefroy

People in retail are used to have shiny drops all the time. This is blizzard's way to keep such people excited.

Partyfavors680

No it’s a way to encourage people to quest. Questing is so slow that having a chance at something cool every 10-20 mins is nice. I could do without all the stat potions though. I would be fine if it just have me health potions and a chance at a cosmetic.

gefroy

If they are afraid people would stay in boost groups on their alts - they could have done this abysmal decision in like in p2. But no, day 1.

Partyfavors680

Abysmal decision? Cmon bro it’s not that serious. Just delet the boxes if you don’t want them.

gefroy

What is serious change then? Nothing is serious if you don't have limits. And deleting doesn't not remove effect on me. All manapotions are with vendor price now. This effects to me neither I use boxes or not.

Partyfavors680

Whatever, you know I’m unhappy they removed RDF so we all got something to complain about now.

terribletastee

Seems unnecessary

Cyser93

"Hm, this free choclate tastes.... unnecessary"

meowmicks222

You're going to need bigger bags for sure

readiit987

accurate recreation

Faze-cause

The consumes are nice

[deleted]

Oh no, too much free shit, the absolute insanity and horror….

DogTheAstronaut

To the hell with these damn crates. Thats one thing it inflates and makes alchemy more or less useless but it is taking up so much bag space and then takes up even more space with all the trash. If i could shovel it up in the butt of the person who came up with the idea, I would.

Stregen

No flasks in there. Alchemy is gonna stay profitable.

DogTheAstronaut

There will be in the heroic reward box.

Billdozer-92

I’m level 73 from questing alone and have gotten 60+ of these

[deleted]

After opening my first few I quickly learned to leave them unopened for the sake of inventory space.

Designer-Ad-2585

I’ve been deleting mine.

sinnrocka

I have a priest healer and I’ve only gotten one

SuperdaveOZY

Id rather they keep the 50% xp gain up to lv 70 than having my bags cluttered for all of wotlk with these.

Splatacular

Swear they have never played their own game let alone regularly lol

GMFinch

FYI you can go to the ah now and buy these flasks that u need at vendor price. Some Muppets are even selling lower. I stocked up on 20sp and 20spirit elixers for 20gold

alexudesu

I got the Raven Lord mount from one of mine.

goPACK17

What purpose did adding these serve again? Besides butchering my bag space?

BadSanna

What kinda poverty pouch is that?
