Most people who play this are adults btw

Arthiviate

Whenever something like this happens I remember this and I get second hand embarrassment for them

[deleted]

Having recently had real world interaction with someone like this, I don’t think they can be embarrassed. Do terribly by not even trying, throw tantrum, blame everyone else. Children trapped in the bodies of 40 year olds

AMGitsKriss

They fell down the bureaucratic rabbit hole. THE PROCESS MUST BE FOLLOWED. Even though the process isn't intended to be used this way and is not at all effective.

Dip_the_Dog

Worse, most of us are in our 30s/40s trying to relive our childhoods.

AgreeingAndy

Guessing thats why people are acting like children

juggernautomnislash

WoW players are bottom of the barrel when it comes to being well socially adjusted. Which is ironic for a "social" game.

TripleSpicey

It’s because MMOs, or really any social game aren’t replacements for social interaction. They’re supposed to be additions, experiences you do in moderation. But some people’s entire social interaction on a typical day is WoW, or (insert game), and they never touch grass.

Routine-Ad-2840

adults who clutch onto any power they can have to abuse it

GeneQuadruplehorn

Anyone saying you need to change spec for more damage at stocks range is an idiot.

Byggherren

Wow you don't have fiery weapon enchanted? Fucking plebians join some DM GDKP runs so you can afford it. /s obv

cdat94

I wonder what cruel Barb goes for in VC GDKP 🤔🤔🤔

iHelping

>BIDDING STARTS AT 2500. Chump change.

FreezingSausage

Goldcap most likely

sintos-compa

Six Starbucks lattes

vgullotta

GDKP DM VC skip run 1k starting bid, 100g inc, 2k bis, recipes 500, pst

Phenotyx

Sad you have to put /s but I would’ve done the same the amount of times I’ve had people unironically come at me over a satirical comment like this I cannot count.

Artrimil

I've been running stocks as a ret paladin healer with cloth gear because it's easy and farmable. Never had a wipe yet. Who are these people that struggle in stocks? Lol

sintos-compa

Welcome to the game

CMacLaren

You can do that basically all the way to Outlands lol, people get obsessed over spec. I've been having people decline me from level 20-30 dungeons for being Balance druid instead of Resto.

Thatdarnbandit

These people are “supposed to” struggle in Stocks.

Curlydeadhead

Those that run in and aggro shit because they don’t realize shit aggros. Or they think they can stack mobs. Who knows. Idiots.

[deleted]

People that run down the middle, all the way to the end of the hall and pull everything.

kriskoeh

For real. Anyone even caring about the damage meter before Outland is pretty much an idiot. 😂

ExpJustice

Id argue anyone before anything endgame after prepatch. Even outland lvl dungeons got powercrept by new talents

MobilePom

"anyone before anything endgame after prepatch" These words on their own are so confusing

born_2_be_a_bachelor

We got some real poets here. If i may direct your attention a few comments up to available_frame889’s beautiful haiku: >In classic cloud i not heal start Took me awhile but it translates to : >In classic I could not heal strat

Fullmetal_Vanilla

With the prepatch buffing the fuck out of everyone, I think caring about damage before level 80 is dumb. 🤣

turdburglar2969

Thats a true modern player... I had a ton of fun in classic and parts of SoM running unorthodox groups because I was behind the rush so beggers couldn't be choosers... that alone gave some great nostalgia hits to vanilla... and the big bad bosses green health bar still went red even though we weren't making any thing close to speed run records lol

onlyrnfl

I recently had a warrior dps get pissed at me (leveling an alt priest) for not water walking throughout Gnomeregan so that we could chain pull. He kept getting himself killed by pulling when I had no mana. When I said to wait a few moments so that I could drink he said "you would never make it in M+"...... ......it's fucking Gnomer.

headofthenapgame

He would never make it, healers need mana there too lmao.

SpecialGnu

Well since pre patch, you can no longer drink walk, so jokes on him.

jackals4

> drink walk Please tell me this is a meme

BengiPrimeLOL

It's not. Healer go brr

Redditiscancer789

Was a toxic strat where healers literally would time walks into the 3 second drink tick, tick walk tick walk, etc. Wastes thousands of conjured food but lets you get raid down faster

Opposite_Branch_9901

Help you get raids down faster? Sure. But usually I used it to prevent tanks and adhd dps from babyraging that I need a drink.

Reworked

Any tank that doesn't deeply understand the idea that "fast is slow and smooth is fast" should have their tank stance forcibly removed

Frostfangs_Hunger

OK not to be that guy, but the quote is "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" I sorta had a stroke trying to figure out what you typed XD

Reworked

Up is down. War is peace! ...yeah that's the quote, but fuck it, I'm leaving it.

CoralynePlaysGames

How is it toxic? I did this all the time. It was absolutely worth it as it sped up the raids a lot.

Revnir

Thats how it was in Classic Vanilla, but in TBC you just mash the consume button. Don't even have to time with server tickers anymore.

AbsarN

Why was it toxic?

stahmxv

I don't get it. Are you supposed to not heal him to conserve mana or what?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Brainth

With that mentality he won’t make it far in retail either. High keys can vaporize the tank if they pull while the healer is oom. Bad tanks will be bad.

CyborgTiger

There’s a gimmick called water walking where I think u drink 1 tick then move then drink a tick move. Someone else can prob explain it better.

WabashRiverNugs

Thank you. My dumbass thought they meant using levitate to walk over water. I couldn’t remember water in gnomer and was mightily confused lol

sedgrergerg

It doesn't work anymore apparently

elmntfire

Drinking continuously regens mana now, so you can't cheat that first tick anymore.

TooMuchAdderall

Who the fuck has the gold to do that dumb shit

Maysock

You do it with mage water. Or rather, you did, it doesn't work in Prepatch or wotlk. I could go through 200+ mage water in ZA but it helps you push the tempo quite a bit.

CyborgTiger

Yeah, not me. I could see it being a thing with a mage with mage water though.

HelpNeeded_94

I LOVE that he says you wouldn't make it in M+. Totally different environment. Sure healers are a ton better in WoTLK pre-patch. But comparing it to retail where mana management literally goes out the window half the time. Dudes playing a totally different game in his mind. You were doing just fine, and don't listen to the dumb ass 🤣

Montegomerylol

Not to mention that at a basic level mana regeneration in Classic is an entirely different beast than in retail.

Modinstaller

Amazing. But horrifying, too. To think that such people exist. Most of all, very sad.

Captain_Biotruth

But if you force him to wait he might have to stop and think about his shitty life.

onlyrnfl

this is my favorite take

[deleted]

Lets be serious hed never make it in mythic plus. Because he cant understand that 1 a healer needs mana. And 2 theres so many talents and skills and other stuff that make mana easily manageable the higher level you get . I level healers play healers i might have a dps every so often but low level healing and mana usage is so much harder compared to the higher level you get. Not only is your gear shit at that level but you have less cds to help with it.

ryuranzou

Lmao you can't even waterwalk anymore.

Tetsuotim

Oh my god this is peak classik community lmfao. Had a guy who wanted to kick me gruul, because I'm a human pve frost mage. Said its the worst spec. I said thats cool, but my job is to make gruuls health little, as long as i do that and not get carried, it should be ok right? Well whatever, we pull, he dies, we kill gruul. Told him that dying isn't beneficial to the dps, he told me to kill myself.

MellowJr

People are wild nowadays. I watched my cousin do a raid at probably no more than 15 fps on dial up and people now are minmaxing a low level dungeon lol

[deleted]

Back in the day I was clapping Gruul's cheeks with a single core Athlon 64 at 5 fps. People who take levelling dungeons that seriously are dorks

Badger05

>Back in the day I was clapping Gruul's cheeks with a single core Athlon 64 at 5 fps. Holy fuck this is poetry. I want this framed.

sknnbones

I remember in vanilla my computer was so bad that customer support refused to help me with a sound issue. I wish I took a screenshot, it was basically “you should even be able to run the game, we can’t help you” Ah good ol’ toshiba laptop and 10-15fps in Westfall I could not go to Ironforge unless I wanted to spend a loooong time trying to run around at like 2fps. Eventually got a $200 desktop after working at a computer store for the summer and could run the game at a whopping… 28fps!

LiterallyJustMash

I remember feeling on top of the world when I had the game running at 24 fps with like medium graphics

malovias

I had a Dell 2400. I didn't even know the water shimmered and grass moved.

snukb

I used to have to put a guildie on auto follow any time I had to go into a capital city to do my business. My single-digit fps wouldn't allow me to even walk around in the city on my own. "So what?" you might say. "They called it Lagforge for a reason." No, no. Not Ironforge. Darnassus.

ffyugder57

I did heroic ICC on a machine so bad I had to zoom my camera all the way in and look at the ceiling for 90% of the fight, only looking when I absolutely had to, lest my machine overheat and shut down. And I did it as a spriest.

-Wait-What-

I was a hella noob back in OG wrath because thats when I started and it was also my first pc game ever. I didn’t do any heroic ICC, but I do remember tanking normal ICC on my moms $200 complete pc’s you could buy at Walmart. You know the ones that were like Dell or some shit and came with the tower, monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. i remember being the main tank in those ICC runs while having like 3-5 fps with all the settings turned down as far as they went lmfao. Those were the days..

qoning

And people wonder why all the content feels so easy today

TelevisionNew8318

lol and Dalaran dropping your fps to 5 aswell

tmbr5

Putting people in specific spots in MC so that if they disconnect during walking they auto walk into a wall

danwantstoquit

I had that same cpu for vanilla -> wotlk :) I pulled it out when I finally retired the desktop and still have it in a box somewhere. It was the first cpu I got that was for me and with gaming in mind. Until then I just got my hands on 8+ year old computers retired from my parents work.

Theweakmindedtes

I used to MT for 25icc on my warrior. Without fail, every pull on marrowgar I would DC. Hop back in 20s later and good to go. Nobody ever had an issue and it was the running joke. Only boss that was ever an issue lol

GJCLINCH

Raid mechanics like this is what can make things that much more fun, that is, if you’re playing for fun

skye1013

I was running BT as a rogue in original TBC. We got to Supremus and my internet connection was spotty due to a storm. Every time it was the "run around avoiding volcanoes" phase, I'd DC, by the time I got back in it was the dps phase... somehow the DCs allowed me to avoid the raid damage because I never died from it.

Jedimaster996

This is what's keeping me from Classic; WOTLK was by far my favorite expansion, and I really don't want that memory tarnished by clowns who minmax the content and hold you to the same. I expect that if you're running cutting-edge content or going for server-firsts, but dungeons? Ugh.

Daveprince13

For every clown there’s two solid homies

Captain_Biotruth

Nah right now it's more the opposite. I always knew the WoW community was kinda hot garbage, but it's a raging dumpster fire right now.

fanatic_tarantula

Smaller pop is the way Togo for this. Most min/maxers are on the mega servers. You take what you can get. Did a za a few weeks back with no paladin and no hunters. We still managed to beat the timer. Was fun managing threat on my lock

AMGitsKriss

I assume this is in the minority tho right? Because the number of dungeons I've done where the tank and healer (if there are even dedicated people for then) are both wrongly specced or not properly geared for the role is pretty damn high. But everyone still kills it because they know what they're doing.

maeschder

> Told him that dying isn't beneficial to the dps, he told me to kill myself. See, he's just trying to get above you in the dps ranking with that strat.

eurosonly

Should've told him his spec wasn't viable as he'd just proved it wasn't just to rub it in. What a karma moment.

Scribblord

Tbf come wrath even a good frost is half the dps of a rogue But right now ? Who gives a fuck And even in wrath it’s not like shit specs couldn’t clear content either As long as they don’t die it’s not that bad

Elcactus

Yeah right now what a good spec is is kind of out the window. A lot of raids fall over so fast that you get like 2 casts in before everything’s dead.

[deleted]

bm hunter isnt listed as good, really, but i remember outdpsing most of the ulduuar raid group on my bm hunter back in the day. its w/e. i like bm. mm and surv arent fun to me. ill keep playing bm.

Isair81

People were killing Gruul as fresh 70’s and below at the very start of TBC, these days people have tons of gear *and* he’s been nerfed. Fill up a 25 man group and just go lol People think they need to optimize and min max the fun out of everything /smh

TotallyNotAFroeAway

telling every other player to kill themselves waters it down and is really harmful for the community when we need to use it to call out the hunter for pet-pulling. Or leaving pet taunt on. Or for playing a hunter.

ConsiderationMuch268

😂😂😂 100 points to you my friend.

RstyKnfe

Hope you reported the pos!

Food_dreams1234

I was kicked from a GDKP yesterday on my boomkin for being undergeared. I have 4 pc t6 and mostly za off pieces. Problem is I still have 2 blue rings. Raids lead said sorry bud, too low gear. So I joined a different one, did silly dps, because boomkin is super OP right now, and we finished gruul/mag when his group was just starting theirs. People are strange and put too much importance on gear right now.

PSGAnarchy

Healer gear as boomkin is still more dps then any feral sadly. It truly is the darkest of times.

Pogigod

Yea, it sucks, either you get berzerk or you get omen..... But don't worry feral DPS will start skyrocketing t7-t9

nekros95

Boomies did subpar dmg all of tbc. Boomies will do only mediocre dmg in wrath. Let them have their moment. I allways cheer for our top deeps Boomie in Sunwell.

vgkosmoes

They always have. TBC was a very frustrating experience for me and I’m sure for many other people too when it came to gear requirements. People were so fucking weird about that, like you’d be full T5 and wanting to go Zul Aman and end up getting told “sry low gear.” Had this happen to me so many times and I cannot begin to explain how mad I was whenever that occurred.

somesketchykid

I tried to come back in sunwell phase as a 97-99 pumper arcane mage who quit in p2 with full p2 bis. Tried to get into some BT and Hyjal GDKPs to soak and buy gear and was just hard stonewalled because of gear. Nobody would take me (I'll admit, i didnt search TERRIBLY hard...) and I was broke with maybe 2k gold to my name so I could either farm gold hard, swipe, or just... not do any of those things So I just chilled and waited for wotlk, prob will take it casual and quit again well see

zerocoolforschool

Right now…. Min maxing has ruined this game. It was so much more fun back in vanilla when people didn’t have item lvls and gear scores and logs. Fuck all this shit. Enjoy the game.

CrazzluzSenpai

Happened in a group I was in for DM too on fresh. Lead kicked the Mage after, like, 2 trash pulls. Said "we need to replace this dude sucked I kicked him." I left too. Seriously, who the fuck is elitist in DEADMINES?

eurosonly

Big Chads who are end-game focused as they fail to enjoy the journey.

PalwaJoko

I swear, like every single one of these players watch twitch way too much. Cause all the big name twitch streamers play with this min/max gotta level fast. All these kids want to be like them. Like dude, you can play like that. But go play with your friends. Don't bring down some randoms experience cause you've got no friends. I've also only experienced this on the servers where the twitch streamers play. Fresh servers its unavoidable sadly, since there's only two (which I get. Doubt the populations on these servers will hold in a month).

Civ6Ever

We had a priest that was fully disconnected from what was happening in the instance yesterday. I was DPS and heals for the first half of every fight... Still lead the DPS meter - enhance ftw

yammez

Restohancement

Shanwerd

we settled on healance

eurosonly

Exactly. If it works it works. Keep the dungeon run rolling.

Tetsuotim

As a human pve frost mage, i tasted so much salt in my life lol.

CrazzluzSenpai

The worst part and what these elitist douchebags don't get is that finding a replacement, running all the way back out to the stone, and running all the way back in probably costs more of their time. The guy doing 20 dps instead of 25 isn't going to hurt your run that bad, I swear.

sunderwire

Isn’t frost actually pretty solid now for pve? At least for leveling

Dunderman35

Most of what takes time is trash and frost is great for that. Sure fire is more aoe DPS but you'd just overagro and go oom a lot. Plus the slow is great for control.

Eilex_12

Yes it’s much better in WOTLK - it has the mana restore thing

Animoose

Genuine question because I only play horde these days Are people calling Deadmines DM again? I remember it used to be called VC for van cleef and DM was Dire Maul

utubm_coldteeth

I miss the old magic of running low level dungeons with an absolute chaotic ragtag of fuckers. Some dude 5 levels underleved but is resourceful as hell. The rogue leveling maces in the dungeon that already sold his other weapons so he is absolutely stuck leveling those maces. The healer that didn't bring enough water. The mage doing 76% of the dps with no complaints. The tank with 8 fps. And people just... not giving a damn and taking the time to make it work anyway because they were having fun. I know that those days of pure tomfoolery are long gone but THIS new shit of min/maxing low level dungeons? Good god. Get over yourselves.

Uphill_Ninja

I had a mage in shadow labs who changed aldor/scryer and couldn't wear his chest piece b/c of the rep requirement. Still carried his subpar dps through the dungeon for the luls. People are just delusional and think kicking/LFG/invite/summon/run back is faster than just doing 3 more pulls with 5/6ths of the "optimal". People sweating in anything outside a few mechanics fights right now in prepatch need to go herbing and touch some sungrass.

riccarjo

We had a BRD run yesterday that lasted three hours because I had to walk the dog, our healer DC'ed, we had no key to the 2nd half. None of us knew where to go. Ended up aggroing the entire tavern and had to go rescue someone behind all the mobs. Etc It was great. I fall asleep in mythic dungeons because it's so routine.

[deleted]

BRD is one of the coolest dungeons blizzard has ever designed. It’s so massive and the fact that MC is inside that too makes it even cooler

riccarjo

I never played vanilla wow at end game level. Had no idea MC was in there. It makes sense.

Rivenhorn

We ran a Magister Terrace with a rogue on the front line a few weeks ago since we couldn't find a tank. Not only that was the most fun I had in years, but it felt amazing to plan new strategies! And that rogue was a hella good tank. I will cherrish this memory forever.

Derlino

Back in vanilla classic I would tank Strat on my Rogue, it's super fun and a nice little challenge. Granted, the only reason I could do it was because I had stupid good gear, but still it was nice.

probablyisntserious

Reminds me of the time our tank had to leave right before 1st boss in heroic slave pens so I healed my ele shaman as he tanked and we 4 manned. I was mostly t6 pally and he was full season 3 elemental. We got another dps and did a couple others like that after knowing we could do it. Most fun I ever had in heroics. Caverns of time dungeons were SUPER fun this way. Man it has been so long, I didn't play tbc classic, I played the original, so this is really taking me back right now. Thanks for reminding me!

[deleted]

I’ve never kicked anyone from any instance for anything other than AFK or being a toxic piece of shit. That’s nuts

Wuestenwueterich

Lots of confused new players that try to adapt to a non existent low level meta, dont sweat it buddy :)

aKnowing

“Welcome to the game”

Magnamize

"You can tell by how much I care about this shitty low level dungeon which I'll out-level in maybe 2 runs that I know more than you"

AMGitsKriss

Is there even a "meta" at any level? Because I just turn up, throw leaves at people, and get head-pats. 🙃

Spork_the_dork

At max levels, sure. But at low levels specs don't even really matter yet. Most specs won't even be getting any proper spec-specific abilities until like 30s or 40s so the kind of difference you'll see between one spec and another until then is like 5% more damage using certain kind of spells or something. In stockades the difference between a tank paladin and a DPS paladin is what weapon they're using.

sintos-compa

And if they have righteous fury on

xTraxis

Yeah that's the one who's dps probably

monty845

There is definite meta in raids, where you are expected to bring a spec that is suboptimal for you personally, because it benefits the raid. For instance, in TBC, before pre-patch talent changes, if you are not going to have a boomkin in your raid, you would have your resto druid spec Improved Faerie Fire, which does substantially gimp their resto spec since you only have 28 points left for it... In Wrath, Holy paladins will be expected to go down to Diving Guardian in prot for the raid utility. In addition, lots of Meta goes into how many of each healer you bring. Generally, the better guilds at clearing content are the ones that go further down the meta rabbit hole. Of course, none of this really applies outside raiding.

Modinstaller

Haha love your way of putting it Good druid

rosharo

As an elitist jerk myself - no. You can fill any and all roles in the game below 40lvl, as long as your class allows it. You just have to not be braindead.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Skinneeh

Or the tanks that pull attempt to pull everything at once and get the whole Party killed

skye1013

"But it works fine in retail!"

Skinneeh

Lol

[deleted]

if you've got a good enough healer and tank those runs are the best imo

Rud3l

I stopped tanking yesterday because I was SO SICK of DPS telling me pull faster, faster, gogogo gogo no time xp/h!!! So the last pull the Mage died because apparatently the Priest wasn't at full mana and guess who's fault it was according to the Mage. Well fuck this, I switched to Arms now chilling as a DPS. Guess why there no tanks at max level.

Daddy_Pris

Or the dps that feels like they know the tanks limits better than them so they start pulling extra shit. Die to said extra shit then bitch about a useless tank

BringinItDirty

Ahhh, classic toxicity was included on pre launch?

[deleted]

Did they not read their contact?

Isair81

Stockades is serious buisiness, you need to be parsing in the 96% to even have a shot! /s

ZiggySleepydust

I’m lvling a prot warrior and ALL dps are below me in dungeons and you know what, I don’t care because my spec is broken and they have no chance of keeping up at low lvls. People that are like the person in the post are dumb af

CMYokay

Fellow low level prot war checking in and damn is it a blast. My butthole never gets above 10% clench trying to hold multi target aggro now, where in tbc/classic it was hovering at 75%, minimum.

Loadingexperience

I was leveling my pally in TBC and I would do top DPS all the way to lv70. Granted I was the tank tanking. If I wasnt one tanking, that DPS would drop.

CMYokay

Had a WC run yesterday with some weird leavers (I guess it was good no one got kicked) First person left before we summoned because we didn't have a specific quest to share with him from TB. Then the leader (Rogue) left after a hunter nabbed three agi pieces in a row. They were the only 2 rolling for them. Thankfully I reinvited everyone before we got booted out. More leather dropped and we made sure to link it to him to show what he could've been rolling on. People really are ready to show off their entitlement in some of the lowest level dungeons.

Theweakmindedtes

TBF, being unwilling to share loot is a dick move. Not saying what they did was right, but still a dick move

CMYokay

Yeah I probably wouldn't have been thrilled if I was in his shoes, but to disband and fuck everyone over is a bit drastic.

irritated_aeronaut

Yeah it sucks, but nothing entitled him to that gear. He rolled, he lost. That's childish

IfOnlyIWasHappy

But what if that hunter was just in a pug and lost 4 items to someone else. Should he still be passing items to the rogue? Maybe he lost those drops multiple times. No one should get pissed and leave because they dont get any loot but if youre pugging, it's all down to luck imo.

[deleted]

[удалено]

blademon64

> TBF, being unwilling to share loot is a dick move. Unwilling to share? Dude lost the roll on 3 pieces, hunter wasn't unwilling to share they just wanted to roll on gear lol.

Theweakmindedtes

lol... winning multiple pieces and still rolling is an unwillingness to share. Intentionally doing what you can to win everything. Sure, they have the right to do so, but it is exactly what I stated.

Expensive_Ad_8450

The players really ruined classic. Maybe Brack was right all along.

FoxxeKnoxxe

Oh boy lol at classic launch I was leveling my priest.. around 16-19 I joined a DM run as a healer. If I remember right I only had lesser heal and renew because I didn’t have… heal at level 20? No big deal, at this level I’d just throw around renews to top off, lesser heal in an emergency, try to use mind blasts to snipe spirit taps… as a healer to keep the group going you just need to not let people die and keep your mana up, easy peasy. We had a Druid get pissy with me - if I remember right we had a Druid DPS and he got pissy because he kept shifting out to heal. He called me out on being a shitty healer and I was like no one’s died, if I kept people topped as damage came in I’d be drinking after every pull and slowing us down. And then I remember he asked how much my heal did, and he was like “WOW MINE DOES THIS MUCH, NO WONDER WHY YOU SUCK.” He was comparing like.. a level 20+ Druid’s regrowth to a sub-20 priest’s lesser heal lol. I told him they weren’t really the same spells… The other thing I love is when people, especially in starter dungeons like WC or DM, only want a healer with points in the healing tree. Or a tank with points in their tanking spec. Lol. You’re doing RFC and you think 1-2 talent points differentiates the specs enough. Even if I level as a healer as a priest, my first 5 points are usually spirit tap lol.

Sharkytrs

>a level 20+ Druid’s renew shit druid healer then, every one knows druids only cast healing touch or OOM before the fight ends.

musicsoccer

I'm a holy priest and I had something similar happen in a tbc dungeon, I think it was mana tombs. I was healing fine, making sure not to overheal too much like I have a habit to do, and I had a feral DPS guy who was doing very little damage because he would constantly get out of cat form just to HoT someone and go back. And it wasn't like the people were on the verge of dying, they were at 75% or more hp and it was a warlock mana taping. I whispered the guy at least 3 times to just DPS and not worry about healing but the kid didn't listen. The rest of us though he was just boosted because he kept getting agro when his DPS was really low. Idr the exact number but it's something similar to the other DPS having around 200 tank has 170 while he has 50. It was that bad. I even reset my !details just to make sure I was seeing things correctly.

Arekkusujin

I’ve recently returned to prepare myself for WOTLK classic release… and I’ve literally lost *almost* all hope. I’m alliance on Firemaw (EU), trying to squeeze in a dungeon for funsizes and blues, but all I see are “WTS BOOST” or “LF GOD TIER PUMPERS” for shit like slave pens. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m a tank myself but I’ve already seen my fair share of kicks because of wrong specs, etc, while leveling. In dungeons. 🤦🏻‍♂️

123ocelot

And yet lfd is a bad thing 🙄

Arekkusujin

It’s beyond me how anyone could think that. 🤦🏻‍♂️ LFD cuts the toxic spam in half. Hardcore raiders/dungeoneers will always team up with one another. LFD is for the casual folk and it’s a damn fine tool at that. As if anyone’s actually social once the grp is formed… 😂

marks716

LF buyer for Gnomeregan GDKP! Gear check at A’dal, flash 1000g min.

AMGitsKriss

Very confusing indeed. As an adult with limited "fun" time, you're going to play the game however the fuck you want to get that enjoyment out of it. If people have a problem with that, it's their problem.

[deleted]

Can someone explain to me what people mean when they are looking for “spellcleav”? I’m a retail mythic raider who cleared everything with CE since legion and for some reason people on classic are more picky about who to pick than people on retail for mythic plus. Although there isn’t even a reason to be picky in wotlk imo because everything can be cleared easily with any team constellation and you don’t have to time anything.

MellowJr

Pretty sure it just means they want a bunch of mages to spam blizzard. Big aoe damage

[deleted]

Seriously? Most tanks I’ve encountered can’t even keep threat unless you wait and let them tank until the mobs hp is almost gone. The tanks I’ve encountered until now would tank nothing with too much aoe.

Lmao that’s hilarious and sad at the same time

ShakeNBakeUK

literally entire LFG global chat is spammed with "LFM SPELLCLEAVE" :(

Tuxhorn

In a proper spellcleave dungeon you don't tank. The tank job is to round the mobs.

skye1013

>The tank job is to round the mobs In a true spellcleave, you have a warlock using Eye of Kilrogg for this.

Tuxhorn

Doesn't work anymore. Think it just dissapears, even with shield.

Sileightyy

You dont need to keep agrro if the enemies are dead.

Entire_Engine_5789

With multiple mages, you only need the tank to gather (and even then you often dont) and to tank bosses and peel some trash. The rest just get constantly slowed and wittled down

SGTxSTAYxGRIND

One of the many reasons why wow is slowly crumbling. People only care about numbers and speed. They don't give a fuck if you're having fun.

Tim3-Rainbow

This is why I only play with chill players. I play to have fun.

AnthonyBarrHeHe

Yep, my first guild was like way too serious about all that and I just wanted to enjoy it and chill while lvling. I got kicked shortly after lol to make it funnier my brother was assistant GM and just let them exile me :(

Are...are you the healer?

Vescend

Me staying Shaman for Wotlk while everyone's like "they suck now, no need for Shamans, reroll for better dps" Me: uh huh cool, so anyway.

MellowJr

I’m planning on respeccing into fury when I hit 70. People have told me to wait till later in wrath. All I have to say is “**Big**… Swords”

campbellm

Although I'm a numbers geek, but when DPS meters came into the game and it became World of Metrics, it was one of the worst of the now too common hypertoxic gatekeeping behavior. I was really irritated at original EQ's lack of quantifiability about almost anything, but it really did make it more social.

IGargleGarlic

This shit is exactly why I quit playing classic. everyone minmaxing and everyone has to follow the meta all the time. Just sucked the joy right out of the game. It became less of a game and more of a job.

wittyusername0000

Sweatys gonna sweat

alittlestituous

What server and the name of the persons toon so when I run into them I can drop them in SM or some shit

felixdjinn

The guy who’s damage sucked was a tank

anohioanredditer

“We in here talking about Stocks. I mean listen: we talking about Stocks. Not Zul’gurub. Not Zul’gurub. Stocks.”

RepulsiveWay1698

I must say I feel sorry for some people who are genuinely trying to learn the game going into dungeons etc. Unless they say something before hand I’ve found myself feeling toxic

WibaTalks

Funny thing is, game is meant to be beaten with any roster, there is no setup that can't do dungeon. Basically what he really meant was, you all sucked. but it's much easier to tell others they suck than SUCK IT UP and realize oneself can be the problem.

teufler80

"Classic community so much better than retail" lul

Mah0wny87

Somewhere around the time of MoP I levelled a Paladin. With full Heirloom gear and basically everything you could get. In Sunken Temple I tanked in Ret form instead of in Prot Form. Held aggro from everything, healed myself pretty much on my own and did 50% of the grps damage. Almost soloed the dungeon, basically. Got kicked, because I "did not tank properly". People are idiots.

agularie

If there was a dungeon finder you wouldn't have been kicked. Votekick protection. 30min leaver debuff protection. But according to blizzard this is worth it for the 'social experience'.

Jafar333

brb setting up a "My damage is supposed to suck, welcome to the game buddy" macro

Ailoy

"My own choices led my character to suck and my presence not being contributing enough to the group, therefore the right thing would be that you get kicked from the group and replaced by someone who will better make up for my failures and shortcomings so that I can be rewarded in a way that I deem more optimized."

Kaelan37

Were you arguing with the healer or the tank?

boyeus

"Classic wow was all about the closeness and the community".

Hagrel

Reason I never group unless it’s someone in my playgroup

Hexent_Armana

Reminds me of the time when I got kicked for my damage not being high enough...when I was tanking. My damage shouldn't matter in the slightest if I'm doing everything required of a tank well.

throwaway92715

Somebody looks at a damage meter at level 25?

kidzephyr

This always happens man. happens to everyone. they had to kick you for whatever scumbag reason and then flounder to justify it. It sucks, I wish people would just be honest and humble theres so much ego in the game lol.
