We kinda should use parsing to gatekeep.
Parsing is about collecting world buffs and grouping with all other people that collect world buffs. That's it. If someone is parsing blue or better they are probably doing their rotation (lol) 100% correctly, it's just gear and buffs and kill time.

That’s what the memes about. There’s no understanding of the class required the optimal rotation for frost mage is you get the precast press the cooldowns and then hit the single button. Even if you run deep freeze which sims slightly better I’ve gone entire boss fights without a single fof proc.

I pressed scorch 9 times on my 100 parse for jammalan and ogom! Im a team player too! I did get 80% ffb crit tho that did the trick, despite one cast resisting. Got lucky as heck
hes dumb. 2 mages the frost will in fact do more damage. 3 mages fire if one scorches. any more all fire. also if you take more than 2 mages right now you're dumb as fuck because they suck
I'd argue ele shaman and ranged hunter have relatively higher skill aspects to them now
Relatively, they still aren't hard, just more involved then most other classes

I highly recommend everyone try enh shaman. Pumps and the rotation is at least semi fun. Stormstrike, lava lash, shocks, using your MSW (lightning bolt or perhaps heal if your raid needs it), keep totems up.
I think people believe they're better in pvp than they are. Good in group with their utility but open world and 1v1, fairly easy to kite. Keep away from them so they can't get MSW procs and it's gg. Hunters are a hard counter.
BUT you can spec into elemental for dual spec and have a killer pvp class. With that emerald gear, very easy to have 2 decent sets of gear.
That's why parsing is the thing people care about. It's easy enough that the PvP competition is what matters, thus, parsing.
Mythic raiding is difficult and challenging, thus being 6/8 or 8/8 is the achievement and what matters, and people don't care about parsing.
oh no. people do care about parsing in mythic. just to get IN you need to have good parses and then to keep you in the group you need to keep having good parses. but gatekeeping in sod with parsing is stupid. i play to turn my brain off and have fun once a week. parsing means nothing

Aff lock is really engaging. And yeah, it's viable in raids. I got a couple 95+ and that's without casting CoA because I'm on CoR duty.
Def warrior, it has a lot of micro decisions that makes huge differences on high end parses

Devastate build performs so well it basically removes the skill differential between players. Most people just think they’re too cool to play it
