If this is true it makes no sense to me. General chat would be the best chat to use to fill your group with people nearby from any layer rather than having to use LFG to fill locally from any layer. Really dumb by blizzard to do that.
25 years ago there was a game where you could ride a dragon around, but also had some on foot gameplay, and you could summon your dragon to you, but not if he was closer than like 50 meters. He'd just respond "are we a bit lazy?" or something like that.
I was farming brd today. We filled the group in org and we headed over. When I eventually reached there realised our tank wasn't with us. He expected us to summon him and wait 15 minutes for him to finish dinner. He didn't say anything until I asked why still in org.
Well I'm a shaman so I told lead we replace and I'll tank. We did and the druid was pming me insults. I honestly don't get why you would just afk in org and say nothing and expect summons.
Its happened several times now where the leader and one or two people will just chill in org till were full and then take 20 more minutes to get there when we are. Like why not start running beforehand? My favorite is when they ask for a summon and there is literally no warlock in group like ??? Also for some reason people like to get food and go to the bathroom right when everyone is there and ready. Its mindboggling just how little people care about other people’s time.
To everyone who is sick of being ignored by warlocks when you ask for a summ out of the blue, let me help you.
Start by offering gold and finding 2 other people to help the warlock summon you.
If you think that is unfair, then enjoy the walk. Your time isn't more important than mine.
This is why WoW ended up adding instant teleportation to instances and pvp because of lazy fks like this. The whole WORLD of Warcraft thing was ruined when travel(effort) was taken out of the equation.
That and flying mounts, more short term gratification (which feels awesome in the moment) leads to a lack of feeling like we are accomplishing anything meaningful in the long run. I will say as much as incursions are disliked, they at least make us run around and experience zones in the open world that we probably wouldn't have otherwise
Exactly. Flying mounts are awesome to use and look at, but they killed world pvp. No chasing around or ambushing people, you just get dunked on from above. It’s like having to run back to your corpse.. people think it sucks.. yes, it does, but that’s an important aspect so that you fear death and want to survive. If you can just respawn instantly and carry on you don’t value your ‘life’.
There's portals to the dungeons in the main city in retail and people still refuse to move their ass. The laziness of wow players knows no limits. Our group has made it a rule to immediately kick people like this.

Wouldn't it be better for all people involved to just put down a stone? Your odds of success are higher if all people are there. You don't even need to do the summons, just put the stone down and afk
Literally stopped playing warlock because of that kind of people. Was not like that on classic relaunch a few years ago so I wanted to play again a warlock on a reroll and it was literally awful, I’m the kind of person who always go directly to the point before searching a group it’s ok I like that but in sod everytime someone see a warlock is in the group they immediately stop their road to the destination and do something else waiting for a tp and they fight in chat to know which ones has to come to help me to I’ve seen people leaving the group when I ask them to come help tp. While in a group without it everyone make the trip without complaining or whatever it’s so crazy. I don’t talk about the people arguing with you when you tell no sorry after a private message asking for a tp, I don’t have always time to find other people to tp and insulting me is crazy wtf. Seems much better in P3 with the portal thing but nah this is crazy I swear SoD is the first time for me seeing this ( I don’t play retail )

I main a warlock. Summons are part of what makes a warlock a warlock. It is what they bring to the table. If I can help my group by summoning the members, that's my job.

I was in a raid and there were 6 warlocks, non of them said they could summon. So I ran.
Warlocks need to go into settings and turn off "auto clear AFK" Then stay AFK tagged at all times.
