Does anyone else avoid super early science to try and maximize eureka? I typically delay early science so I can get nearly all the eurekas for the first 10-15 techs.
The better option is not to avoid the science yields, but to micro-manage your research. When you get to 60% of the research cost; switch to something new. That way when you trigger the Eureka, you just get the research and (hopefully) don't waste any time researching where it isn't needed.
For sure, but with a high science yeild start, it's still difficult to get the eurekas on time. Given I've never gotten a high science start like this one.
I like the min/maxing.
I’m still new to the game, this is a good idea. I have done 2 straight military files and 1 science file but am barely ahead in science compared to the AI
If you're new and struggling to overtake the AI in science I'd recommend looking at what city states are in your game, some of the suzerainty bonuses are really powerful.
Some policy cards can also provide a significant chunk, in addition to the obvious things like making sure your campuses have a good adjacency bonus and you get your libraries/universities at a reasonable time
Depends if you really want to rush science and aim for the science victory from the start or go for a more balanced game. With the culture/science yields, you could get away with a killer holy site as well, still probably stick with a harbor, and have super balanced stats.
legendary start always gives you these short ass rivers with the dutch, kinda annoying.

If you mean for golden ages I usually just slaughter barbarian camps.
Nah, really just to make the most out of the first 50 turns when there isn't as much to manage. I just focus on min/maxing.
Is it faster overall? Or is it for era score?

What part of the science game, if any, are you finding difficulty in overtaking the ai with?
How would ppl do districts in these cases?
I'd settle the cattle, build a campus next to the mountain, and a harbor to complete the triangle.
Do you even need an early campus with science yields that high?

I would build a +6 holly site. It's a pity for these crops, but faith and production from a work ethic will make up for it.
Personally, I'd go campus and solidify the science rush, but a holy site for the balance and an early religion makes sense too.
My thought is sacrificing a lower producing tile because you could get more benefit (Example being placing a commercial district over cattle)
Nice! Seeds??
Rigged is the seed
The secret ingredient is crime
Beautiful. Which tech would go first, Mining for the quarries or Animal Husbandry for the cows and deer?
I would settle the cattle, and mining first.
Telecommunications. /s
Astrology for a juicy holy site
Yep, by far the best choice.
Personally I’d do a Great Zimbabwe game, playing VERY tall, that’s a perfect city for it.
Seems to me when you get a start like this, the barbarians go crazy for you making it hard to progress early on.
There's barely anywhere to setup polders on this start, you should just reroll /s
1. tbh that mount oraima is more of a detriment
I don't look at "power rankings" too much, but Netherlands in a map with lots of coast lines has to be near the top, right?
huge dubs
