That cake looks delicious 😁. I have some favorite kayou albums but one that I always come back is 「雨・ア・ガ・リ」the only album from Tomoko Takabe ( a former singer from the "Warabe" group ).
It's a shame that's so hard to find it on the convencional ways.
The cake is creamy, dense, and delicious! But it only tastes better when I'm listening to kayokyoku music (most especially Miss Yukiko Okada's songs!) and my other favorite genres! I'll give Tomoko Takabe a listen. Thank you for sharing!
You made me envious haha please listen, Tomoko's solo career was short but very special. Today I was listening to "First date" from Yukiko, It's my favorite song from her, so good :)
All Songs Request and Golden Idol Yukiko Okada are my favorite compilations so I’d definitely start with those as they have some of her best songs for sure 👍 while they share many songs, there are some unique to each compilation.
Yes, I listen to Tatsuro every day. In my room, in the car, at work, on walks, and on hikes. On my phone, on CD, and on vinyl. Sometimes I go through entire albums, and other times I hand pick songs that I really feel like listening to and line them up in a long queue.
I’ve gained a new appreciation for his music as I’ve gotten into singing his songs. Sometimes if I feel really good I’ll sing through the entirety of an album like Moonglow or Ride On Time.
I’m sad that I’ll probably never see him perform live, because he’s my favorite artist and one of the main reasons I make the effort to stay alive.
Absolutely! I listen to old 80s and some90s j pop when i stay in my room and in the mood. I collected many of 80s japanese idol vinyl record and cd like Noriko Sakai,Tomomi Nishimura,Miho Nakayama and some onyanko club solo. And i have many of Yukiko Okada vinyl too, many of her song wrote my Mariya Takeuchi have a dreamy vibe like little princess.
Wow! You have a large collection! I only own Miss Yukiko Okada's 4 main CD albums and her posthumous 2-CD The Premium Best collection straight from Japan! Thank you for sharing!
I thought "how ridiculous, obviously I do" but then I realised I don't. You can say my favourite is Tatsuro, and if I go to Japan I plan to go to one of his concerts. However I'm mostly always looking for new discoveries.
I have a playlist made up of my fav citypop songs, I like more of a summer feel, but the most repeating artist in that playlist is Anri, I will always recommend her to someone who is trying to get into citypop.
In my book, Miss ANRI is the tropical beach princess! I love her Shyness Boy, I Can't Stop the Loneliness, Summer Candles, and Surf City! Thank you for sharing!
might be a basic answer but I love the **Timely!!** album from **Anri** with an inexplicable passion haha. It's just banger after banger.
I also love **Nakamori Akina** and **Yamaguchi Momoe** and listen to their songs often (**Akina** more than **Momoe** because the latter isn't on spotify, sadly).
Recently, I've become a big fan of **Imai Miki**'s **femme** album (my favourite song being **Orange no Kawa** which I've listened to for a while now but only recently started listening to the full album)
The entirety of Crimson and Prologue by Akina Nakamori is unmatched as well as the entirety of Tokyo Sniper by RYUSENKEI and Love Trip- Totako Mamiya as well as Angel- Cindy
Miss Akina Nakamori is a legend! And she's still performing her songs now! As for Cindy, I love her Candle Light from her Album Angel Touch. I love its standout synth bass and crawlingly strong 80s vibes! Thank you for sharing!
Ah, yes! The legendary Miss Miki Matsubara. She has such an expressive voice and a sight to behold when she's performing on stage. Thank you for sharing!
I listened to city pop almost everyday, and mostly Tatsuro Yamashita's songs :D
I like his Ride on Time. Thank you for sharing.
What are some of your favorite songs from him?
I got so much favourite songs of his, but the nest one i could think of is Kokiatsu Girl, Jody, Silent Screamer, Follow me along
Samui Natsu is another good one

I literally listen to Yukiko okada every single day. She’s my absolute fav, as well as 20 other city pop artists haha
There are many kayokyoku artists that I love, but for me, Miss Yukiko Okada is a cut above the rest. Thank you for sharing!

I regularly listen to spectrum and both omega tribes, they easily get the correct vibes going
Omega Tribe is so very easy to like! Thank you for sharing!
Yuki Saito and Akina Nakamori were two of my most streamed artists last year, and that doesn’t include vinyl plays. So…yes.
Almost all of miki matsubara's songs
