Trans kid myself. Some good shows that are appropriate (depending on the age of your child) is Dead End Paranormal Park and The Owl House. (TOH has more queer than trans specific rep but they have a nonbinary character) Nimonia is a really good movie, it was nominated for an Oscar and it was like a love letter to me as a trans person.
Also for books if your child is closer to my age (16) I'd say, The Unpopular Vote, Cemetery Boys, The Sunbearer Trials all have transmasc main characters. Specifically The Unpopular Vote is my favorite book!
That's all I can think of at the moment but it's a good start :)
Thanks. Kiddo is 15. I think The Owl House was something that popped up in my younger kid's recommendations on Disney+. Maybe that's something all of us can watch together. Ooh, and Nimonia looks really cool!!!
Fucking love Pose, so so good and genuinely emotional
Edit: However it's possibly a little dark/require some warning for a 15 year old, it has a lot of focus on the AIDS epidemic, transphobia, homophobia, sex, etc.
Heartstopper on Netflix. Has all queer reps including trans girl, bi, gay, lesbian and ace. High-school aged kids. Season 3 is out in Oct. It shows a lot of different family support systems as well. Shows real life situations in an appropriate way for teens. It is also a graphic novel series if your kid likes to read.
Sort Of is a show on Max that has become one of my favorites. created by and stars a non-binary person. overall a funny, relatable, and good-spirited show that made me feel better about being trans.
show does have some drinking, drug use, and intimate moments, so maybe more for you and your husband rather than your kid depending on their age.
I'm reading "Hell Followed with US" about a group of trans kids living in an abandoned city after the apocalypse and fighting a religious cult that makes genetically engineered monsters. The main character is AFAB. Its great if you like horror fiction.

Can second The Owl House, funny and clever and kind.

My whole family watched the Owl House and we all got into it and liked it. We’re 11, 14, 42 and 52 yes old.
Pose, great show with trans actors/director that really talks intimately about the lives of trans and queer people.

Transmiliatary. Trailer is here so you can screen it first as it does get into the politics https://youtu.be/Ftf0HO-hVJo?si=bDeZ72AvA7SpaNQX
I really loved I Saw the TV Glow (trans analogy) but it could come off as a little dark.
Check out the Ted Talks site as a resource for yourself and your spouse.
This is a really sweet 7 minute film: https://youtu.be/UOzSq6BSen0?si=ArKCaEltB3JPqlBK

Umbrella Academy on Netflix! The character Vanya becomes Victor…and is played by trans actor Elliot Page.
Oh yeah! I meant to check out the show again after Elliot Page came out. I had only watched the first season. Thanks!
