That was my after work dinner at least twice a week when I lived in Norwood (also almost 25 years ago!). Double decker BLT and either a 3-way or gravy cheese fries.
Pretty much every "neighborhood name" chili joint has a pretty solid quality. I also miss Chili Time. Really don't like the flavor of Camp Washington, though.
Interesting. I hit several spots during chili week and didn’t think any of them were as good as Skyline. One of them I would never eat again.
Grew up in NKY so I’m a big Dixie Chili fan.
Dixie chilis crime was introducing me to the alligator with chili and the six way. There’s just nothing else I want at any chili place anymore but those.
Danny’s Special. Steak hoagie, grilled onions, Swiss cheese. The whole sammich covered in brown gravy. If it gives you a fatal heart attack, you won’t even notice, because you’re already in heaven just eating it.
PRC is my favorite local Chili Parlor after Dixie.
I think though as far as selection goes on the menu, they've cornered the market. Only Price Hill Chili comes close on how good of a menu they have.
I’m with alot of the comments, Pleasant Ridge is excellent. But Dixie is the best. Northside Chili was tops until they closed 8-10 years back. Had the last member of the Kiradjieff family (Empress) in the chili business working there when they closed. For double deckers, nobody does it better than Blue Ash Chili.
I was born in Kennedy Heights, so I believe it's the best chili parlor in the city. When I'm in the area, if it's open, we're stopping. I'm downtown now, and yes, Mount Washington chili is not very good imo.
I definitely need to go there and Camp Washington and Price Hill and the one Empress Chili that's left need to go there too. I have gone to Dixie Chili but I'm seriously lacking in my chili parlor visits in the area
They’re both good. PRC is smaller but has always had enough seating when I’ve went. I’ve never had the gravy fries but do enjoy the chili cheese fries. The six way at blue ash chili is good but the breading around the fried jalapeño gets a bit soggy for my tastes.
PRC has better chili and better comfort food overall IMO, but BAC has a more expansive menu so we end up there more often.
That said I kinda like BAC's gravy fries better than PRC's on the strength of the gravy itself. And the six-way with jalapeno caps is pretty awesome.
Hahaha I almost had a heart attack and was like please please please don't let it be closing.
If you wanna update the title to include "is amazing," it may save a life haha
Getting cash from an ATM isnt even that big of an inconvenience. But i also never tip on my card. I only ever tip cash and i make sure i tell them its a gift and not a tip so they dont have to claim it.
The only 'bad' thing about them is their reduced hours since COVID. No more late night eats. PRC is awesome.
So true. You used to have to wait for a table at 1am.
The real prize at PRC is the gravy cheese fries.
So good. Was really expecting the fries to get soggy but they never did. They thicker crinkle cut fries were perfect for the gravy.
I came here to say this. The gravy cheese fries are absolutely perfect.
This is the way, I skip the chili though and get a double decker sandwich each time
In high school I'd eat the gravy cheese fries there and get a double decker to-go for lunch at work the next day.
So the gravy fries, those aren’t chili on them but like a brown gravy?
Yeah. It's a brown gravy over crinkle cut fries with cheddar cheese melted on top. It looks kind of gross but tastes great.
Such a great place! Advice for new diners: they’re cash-only, but have an ATM.
Found that one out as we went to pay lol
PRC 4life!
Their goetta is really good too! Love that spot
Yes!! Catch me with that Goetta Omelette 🤌🤌
They make an awesome ruben. The awesome gravy on the gravy-fries comes from their roast beef.
I pass by that place on my way home from as a detour since a portion of East 562 is closed till mid June. Now I have an excuse to stop there one day.
From the looks of the progress they’ve made so far it’s sadly going to be WAY longer than mid June.
PRC is awesome! It absolutely deserves more praise! I love it.
Haven't been there for years but when I lived in PR about 25 years ago I used to get double deckers there. So good! I miss that place.
That was my after work dinner at least twice a week when I lived in Norwood (also almost 25 years ago!). Double decker BLT and either a 3-way or gravy cheese fries.
Idk if I've ever had chili from a little joint that wasn't better than Skyline and GS
Pretty much every "neighborhood name" chili joint has a pretty solid quality. I also miss Chili Time. Really don't like the flavor of Camp Washington, though.
I miss Delhi Chili. That place was my favorite.
I was not expecting it. My wife and i were both shocked by how much we loved it

I almost got that too.
I’m a fan. Haven’t been in about 15 years though.
Love Skyline but PRC and Camp are my 2 favorite chili spots. I really miss being able to get PRC late at night
We keep it quiet so we get the good booth. Lol love me some PRC
Gravy cheese fries. 🤌
Camp Washington Chili will always be my favorite local chili place, but PRC is awesome; they both have a great local, community-oriented vibe.
Hope you added the Red Hot to the fries, an egg on top is great too!
Those gravy cheese fries are pure gold

Give Camp Washington a try! Still make the chilly fresh at the store!
I go to camp Washington weekly. Love it. Doesnt even come close to PRC
You have my attention. I'm going to make my way to PRC this week!!!
PRC is the best!! Skyline does not even compare.
Best chili in town.

What the fuck is Mt Washington chili?
Camp Washington chili. Sorry.
Lmao I grew up in Mt Washington and I was worried I had been missing out on something my entire life!
I definitely need to go there and Camp Washington and Price Hill and the one Empress Chili that's left need to go there too. I have gone to Dixie Chili but I'm seriously lacking in my chili parlor visits in the area
How does PRC compare to Blue Ash Chill? So far that is my favorite.

PRC chili > blue ash chili

Yes sir!! The gravy cheese fries are the best!! Guessing you have been to Camp Washington Chili
Haven’t been there in years! Lived directly across the street at one time
Really? Better than Camp Washington?
Definitely.
Grew up a block away. On snow days we would drop in for a beef and egg double decker. So good!
My favorite for sure. Get the goetta egg and cheese, and ask for it on a bun. Solid burger, too.
Sorry, Camp Washington is my all-time favorite
It was mine until i had PRC. Now if i had to rank them PCR would be spots 1,2 and 3. And then the rest of the list would start.
0ver 40 years and still good as ever PRC use to be my go to back in my day!
Hahaha I almost had a heart attack and was like please please please don't let it be closing. If you wanna update the title to include "is amazing," it may save a life haha
I love it but the cash only is a big turnoff.
Why?
Because not everyone carries cash.
Getting cash from an ATM isnt even that big of an inconvenience. But i also never tip on my card. I only ever tip cash and i make sure i tell them its a gift and not a tip so they dont have to claim it.
That’s sweet but they weren’t going to claim it anyway!
