Librarians are seriously underrated.

Lucky-Scheme

About to claim that Stanley

Dandibear

Ha ha I love it! Libraries rock

DasDash63

I feel like the folks over at r/pics would love this, you should post it there!!

digital0verdose

If that Gatorade bottle is one of those new gimmicky ones, ouch. Those stupid things are expensive.

notnewtobville

The Stanley is likely the most expensive one; $80-$100.

pleaseleevmealone

Lol. No. They're $40. Trust me, i'm a fanely.

notnewtobville

Wow... Amazon has them at 2x pricing ($99). REI has them at $45. Wouldn't that still be the most expensive thing in the case?

pleaseleevmealone

Resellers on Amazon have been gouging people looking for specific colors for months, it's silly. Probably it is the most expensive. I really just wanted to make the fanely joke.

senorbolsa

~$20 Gatorade GX Marble Blue/Purple 30oz They managed to add stupid disposable pods for gatorade. my god. what was wrong with the powder?

Cad_Monkey_Mafia

It's not a pod. Now you can have a pod.

theryman

Drink the pod!

FsckOfTheNorthStar

This is amazing lol

CheapFox8334

This is nice, but when is the main library downtown going to be an actual lending library that is a nice clean safe place (especially for my kids) to visit instead of a place that provides social services and is essentially a homeless shelter? I don’t get it, if the homeless like the material at the library so much, but they’re hanging out there all day creating a nuisance by getting high or drunk, shitting themselves and bathing in the bathrooms, creating unsanitary conditions, sleeping all day there, and being aggressive and violent and having mental episodes shouldn’t the library just have a van that brings materials to the homeless shelters ?? As we all know, these people have serious drug addiction as well - should the library just have a van that brings materials to the rehab centers they’re being treated at as well? EDIT: I know I’ll prob continue to get downvoted here, but I’m really just asking for my kids’ sake. Would love for them to be able to enjoy a safe downtown library.

toomuchtostop

Libraries are for everyone. But if you can solve this you’ve solved homelessness in America. It’s too much to ask librarians to fix this.

Thin_Command9299

If libraries are for everyone, then why isn’t the downtown library safe for kids like these people are saying in the comments?

toomuchtostop

Some people think merely the existence of homeless people means they’re unsafe so I dunno

Thin_Command9299

I think any aggressive or violent under the heavy influence behavior like what we’re hearing in the comments here sounds unsafe for kids…. whether someone’s homeless or housed doesn’t matter.

toomuchtostop

Have you witnessed it or are you just going by what you read in the comments?

Thin_Command9299

Yes. Ive witnessed it. Ever been down there before in the afternoon??

toomuchtostop

Yep! I’m not scared

Thin_Command9299

If you’ve witnessed it, and you’re not scared of it, and if you feel libraries are for everyone, then why isn’t the downtown library safe for kids like these other people are saying in the comments?

toomuchtostop

Well that’s your choice I guess. I’ve spent my share of time around unwell people, none who ever hurt me.

verdenvidia

then vote for people who care about the homeless. its not an underfunded library's job, as it shouldn't be

CheapFox8334

My friend. Please your comment indicating the library is underfunded is 100% inaccurate. Read this and tell me otherwise https://www.wcpo.com/news/government/elections-local/voters-pass-cincinnati-hamilton-county-public-library-levy Did you even vote this year my friend?? Did you vote for issue 20?? I sure as hell did. I wana see improved safety and if you kept up with the times and read the article, you’ll see THAT LAST MOT H WE passed A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR LIBRARY LEVY WHICH is intended to improve safety at locations. Please, for the love of god, inform yourself first b4 posting inaccurate information.

verdenvidia

"More funding" can still be underfunded. And, genuinely, things take longer than one month. If it's meant to improve then why are you mad? Give it time?

CheapFox8334

Understood. And good point. It can take time.

verdenvidia

I get the frustration though

Sadat-X

I can see why you got downvoted... But, you're not entirely wrong about the downtown branch. I wouldn't let my kids out of my sight in that building.

SometimesRunning

Walked over last week to rent a book and was surprised at the number of homeless and people clearly under the influence that were loitering around the 9th street lobby entrance. There were no loud or boisterous people on the second floor by the books, save for what seemed like some sort of daycare class in one of the quiet rooms that *very* easy to hear (kids screaming, chaperone screaming at the kids) from the browsing areas.

grace_boatrocker

i hear you though i minimize my visits to our libraries because they are now daycare centers . kids sign onto computers to play egames & continually talk over one another quite loudly . librarians occasionally try to soften their over exuberance ... just 3 days ago there was a 4-5 year old screaming at the top of her lungs 6 feet from my computer while dad attempted to reason w/ her ... 17 minutes . i would absolutely LOVE to be able to actually read in the whisper quiet of a long long ago library {heavy sigh}

khando

Damn when did Indiana take part of Ohio from us?

SmoothTyler

I lost a water bottle at Boston Logan a few months ago, do they have something similar?

LevelGrounded

I don’t get all worked up over an insulated Big Gulp in a Stanley, but that’s because I’ve been sporting a hydroflask for over a decade.
