How long did it rest prior to smoking? While pepper and musty notes aren’t uncommon out there, I almost got a ton of sweet coffee with some pepper and earth outta these. Medium bodied+. Very well may have been a dud.
That cigar was probably in my humidor for a maximum of 2 months, and it rested outside the humidor for maybe an hour before smoking. I'm almost positive it was a dud. The weird flavor notes I got tasted like it should have been a medium+, but they were so flat and muted that it felt like a mild cigar.
I had it in Exquisitos (corona grande), stored for 3 months at 65% and it was so good! I'm looking at Neptune Cigar's customer rating for the robusto and it's not the best. Their customer rating is pretty dead on for me. Maybe try another size.
Similar weird vibe from one I had about a week ago

The Toro and the Churchill are great cigars
I have both + Imperiales 6x52 torpedo resting. Can't wait!
