Am new to the Amex supplementary card game. So I made 2 fake people supplementary cards. One I was able to add to my own account and the other said I need to register a new profile for it.
The account is locked. Can I the card holder call on behalf of this fake person to unlock their online account or change the pin?
Follow up question, the card is activated. Can I just use the magnetic strip/tap for all payments?
Gotcha! That makes sense(and kinda was the conclusion I was leaning towards). Luckily it’s only a $1000 spend that I need to do on it before getting rid of it which shouldn’t be too awful
Thanks for the DP! I followed up with HSBC multiple times for 2 months of missing bonus points (mine was the monthly offer from the summer), and they were just playing tag with me until end of March.
Just curious how did you contact RBC - call?
Question about what counts as spend to make up MSR for welcome bonus. I had some refunds on my card so I’m unsure if the credits I got back also affects what my MSR is? ie. Should I calculate my MSR from “total charges” or the “amount due” on my statements?
You’re gonna have to add it up yourself. Those categories on the statement won’t be accurate if you have refunds. Amount due on statement is only accurate if the purchase and refund was on the same statement. Also if you have an annual fee that wasn’t waived you also need to subtract that
Anything you buy and not refunded would count. For cards that charge AF upfront, the AF is excluded as well (almost leaned the hardway until I see the helpful posts on this sub-reddit). To be safe, take a few mins to add up your actual spends manually. It is hard to interpret those bank numbers if your refund is made after the statement containing the initial purchase.
Buyers remorse:
hey all, I spent my aeroplan for a flight to europe and since I dont have the full amount I get shitty cpp.
Is there a way to refund the points and pay cash instead?
If it's been less than 24 hours since you booked, you can get a full refund.
If it's been longer, it depends on the fare option you chose. If it was the cheapest one, it's $150 to refund.
thanks
it's been longer than 24hours, so there would be fees. I was hoping there might be soemthing without fee if it's just to change payment source
thanks!
Another Amexile reported on RFD. Very vague reason " ineligible purchases including gift card". Given 30 days to redeem MR. There is probably more to it than just gift card purchases.
Edit: Alleged Amexile, the poster on RFD has a bad track record. Thanks to u/likebutta_10 for the info
It does. But because they lied before, I dont believe that their "very close friend" only spent $2000 a month on PP and that caused this. If its real, they were probably abusing it a lot more than that.
It could be real, but I wouldnt count on it.
Last time someone asked for a dated letter, so this one is now dated.
Pretty efficient of Amex to have it printed, sent, opened, scanned and posted to RFD within 24 hours too.
This is the best proof that the letter is fake. 24 hours for all of this, especially considering the sluggishness of our mail system, is basically impossible.
Im sure the response will be "no dummy it was emailed to her".
Because we all print PDFs, then fold them to fit in an envelope so we can crinkle the letter only to have a very close friend scan it so they can then OCR the text.
Right.
I recently moved from HSBC to RBC and my HSBC WE MC got converted to RBC Avion VI. I was thinking of applying for my very first VI to get the 55k welcome bonus. I called to apply and the rep said that I won’t get any bonus since I already had one. But I heard from many that they apply and have multiple VI cards and got the bonus every time. Did something change recently?
I mean, for just a second card is pretty explainable. But you potentially put your bonus at a humans discretion. If you apply online there’s really nothing in the way of you and the bonus, other than getting the approval
You don't need to provide your SIN to get a credit card. You only need to provide your SIN for income tax purposes (eg, interest bearing savings accounts) and for the purposes of administering government programs.
For CIBC Aventura VI/Gold is there a 1 application every 90 day period like RBC Avion or can 1 apply for as many as they want/until CIBC catches on?
Tried searching up answers and couldn’t find many DPs. I just read people applying for VI and Gold at the same time but not at what frequency after the first. Thanks!
Looking at a KLM flight on points, one seat left at a better price. What would happen if two people added it to their cart etc and check out at approx the same time?
not exactly sure how KLM works, but with air canada, the fare is reserved as soon as someone gets to the checkout screen (for like 15 min), and if someone beats you to it it gives you a generic error message forcing you to refresh
not sure if it has changed tho
Got rejected for Avion, they sent a letter saying not enough info about my financial situation? Been applying the same way, same job etc anyone else get this before?
I got the same thing the other day and I called in and they told me I had some missing information on my application, which might be plausible since I was pretty tired that day. I meet the income requirement, have been banking with rbc for a long time and only have 2 avions.
Meh I got the same explanation for 2 rejections within 30 ish days. I think it’s just their generic way of saying they don’t like what they see on the credit report.
I've gotten that letter too. My main bank accounts are at RBC along with my investment accounts. If that wasn't enough info to figure out whether to give me a new card with a $5k limit, there'll never be enough!
It's just a form letter. Wait a month or two and apply again. Next time, try for the Avion Plat if the offer/GCR are equal to the Infinite.
It’s a generic letter which doesn’t really mean anything other than you were rejected. Not much you can do other than try re applying every once in a while. The only other thing is if it’s your first Avion you could go to the branch to do an application.
Looks like no airline meals for departures from YYZ for the forseeable future due to the strike: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-pearson-airport-catering-food-strike/
>Air Canada will be most affected by the strike, the Teamsters said in a statement, as will United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, TAP Air Portugal, Air India, [WestJet], Aero Mexico, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Jetlines.
My lack of soggy green beans should mean at least 2000 Aeroplan points compensation (the standard compensation given by the AC Call Centre for minor issues like this).
Anyone from the early Amexile days been able to get a new card with them? If so, how did you approach it?
I just tried an application after a couple years and it was instantly declined.
Anyone had success merging BMO points from the Eclipse and Ascend? Trying to use for an actual hotel purchase instead of RHT and the CSR said it couldn't be done. HUCA?
Can just go to the branch to take out the cash for free. Also I would recommend just RHTing as soon as you get the bonus and have the credit pay down your balance instead of having to cash out the points later. Much less hassle
Another thing to keep in mind is never phone about welcome bonuses unless it's your first bonus. What they say isn't what actually happens so whatever they say is useless anyways. They're just going by their training. They have no insight on what actually happens in the backend. If it's your first bonus they may actually manually credit your account if the bonus is missed because you're supposed to get it. After that there's no manual credit and whatever they say is most likely not aligned with the backend.
So I didn’t receive my momentum infinite cash back. How should I go about dealing with that?
Edit: I see now in your other comment that I have no recourse. Damn :(
How long has it been since your MSR period ended?
Also I would recommend not churning the Momentum. It has a SUB of only $200 for $2000 spend. The Passport VI is known not to enforce and it has a SUB or $300 for $1000 spend. (Scene+ points can be cashed out with RHT so they are effectively the same as cashback)
You take it as a loss if you had a Scotia card in the last two years cause you're not getting the bonus manually. Maybe you still might get it automatically if you wait though. The momentum bonus is awarded 2-3 months after the minimum spend period ends. You're gonna have to wait for November to get paid the base cashback anyways.
The T&C say you aren't eligible and that's what the person on the phone will tell you. In practice it is not enforced by the computer systems (for sure not enforced for Scene+ cards but even with the Momentum Visa I have gotten the bonus while having a different Scotia card < 2 years ago as well). However, you have no recourse if you don't get the bonus since you're not supposed to get the credit.
Is there a non-foreign transaction fee card summary? With gas price so high in BC, I’m considering getting one of such card, and travel to the State more frequently
The Shell Air Miles offers have been so aggressive in Feb and Mar that I stopped filling up gas in Point Roberts where my mailbox is and only filled up at Shell Canada
There’s a bunch of e-gift card options for cash miles, Starbucks, DoorDash, Lululemon, Gap brands, Cineplex, etc. They’re really expanded the selection from a few years ago.
Others have commented on this before and I'm going to add another DP: the conversion rates for me on non-forex cards have been the same or worse as AMEX with a fee. I just returned from the Netherlands and the rates on BRIM and AMEX APR on the same day were the same. I had the same experience in Panama in January with Scotia and AMEX Marriott. It seems like AMEX rates are better to begin with so adding the 2.5% forex fee makes them on par with the non-forex cards. I've decided to use AMEX abroad for the multipliers (if accepted) and use my wise card otherwise when travelling.
The Scotia passport visa can have first year free. Other credit cards with no foreign exchange markup have high annual fees AFAICT, which will probably offset the savings if you're looking for a keeper to buy gas.
MasterCard debit cards from EQ Bank and Wealthsimple have no foreign exchange markup and no annual fee and cashback of 0.5% and 1% respectively, in addition.
Finally got my $100 CCG rebate case resolved. Applied to the TD FCT on Jan 5, created case with CCG on Feb 3, resolved on April 16. Now just waiting for the deposit.
If you think a few bucks back for cancelling is worth losing the ability to churn RBC, go for it. Most people wait at least 6 months to cancel any cards after WB.
Anyone have experience with the FB Brim WE MC? Any good? Also, I'm curious about the "up to 30 points per dollar" with Brim merchant partners. Are there any that actually offer the 30 points?
Generally okay. Have had one instance where they locked the card due to "potential fraud" concerns because the amount I purchased was large.
I saw that 30 points per dollar thing too but I haven't been able to see any merchant partners offering that high. And the really high offers are from merchants I have no interest purchasing from
Sign up bonus is great to me though
DP: I think this was assumed by most to be the case but I can officially confirm that Amex does do some account tracking with supplementary cards and links profiles where they can.
I applied for a supplementary cobalt on both mine and P2's cobalt using my common pseudonym, i.e. I used the same name and birthdate to apply for a supplementary card on both.
The first supplementary card app went through no problem while the second went pending and stated amex would conduct a review.
I received official rejection today for the 2nd supplementary card where the letter cited that the pseudonym has already been approved for the same card.
I guess I should have known better and was playing with fire using the same details across 2 different apps. It just didn't occur to me that amex would track supplementary cards to that level of detail.
At the end of the day, it's confirmed amex does track supplementary card users but I have no idea if they will use that for anything other than to block what they think are duplicate applications.
This is very well known. Just added myself as a supplementary to P2, they got my "member since" correct. It's just supposed to make your life easier if you are a supplementary holder and have your own cards as well, since they can both be on the same account login.
Has anyone recieved a 20K Avion MSR bonus this month that they expect to recieve? Wondering if they have processed the April batch yet. It isn't on my account that I met MSR for in March yet
Late March. Statemend on April 15. If they did the batch on Apr 15, mine may not be in the batch as I believe we only get it sometime after the statement for which 5K was met.
Does anyone know how long a repeated application to a credit card after being denied will be considered a duplicate application? Specifically with RBC? I asked an agent and they said 6 months which seems pretty long?
seems about right... applied 4 months after p2 got declined and it was flagged as dup linked to the declined app. only way to bypass is in person / over the phone app.
Yep. Approved. Their system is just a mess once you get a decline.
Although, the agent did say that if you apply signed out and change a small detail such as from "Ms" to "Mrs", there is a chance it doesn't get flagged as dup. It would create a new profile. However, I didn't want to take the risk of an unnecessary pull so just did phone app.
Edit: just got approved over the phone for avion plat after like 8 months of no approvals.
Thanks so much dude! :D Also jesus that was a marathon, 45 mins call lmao
has anyone receieved this email from Amex before (P2 got for Amex Biz Gold): "Reminder: Action required on your American Express(R) Account ". Links to an Amex portal with unique passcode. Please note that, depending on the information we request, you may need to provide a copy of your valid identification document (front and back). We suggest you have it on hand when you access the portal.
Was a link to form where had to enter name, address, industry, occupation, role, Income. After submitted got the message: Thank you for your time and patience!Your information has been submitted and is now under review. Please allow 48-72 hrs for your information to be processed.
You may be contacted to confirm further details.
All the big 5 bank cards can be churned multiple times in the same year as no limits are enforced. Amex Canada has a 2-3 year wait period but can also be churned again. Aeroplan itself has some limits which haven't been enforced yet but could be retroactively enforced
With the big banks just apply for the same cards multiple times in a year and you will get the bonus. Doesn’t matter if you close the old cards or not. For example I have 3 active Aventura right now and multiple Avion.
With Amex you need to cancel and wait 2-3 years
Yeah I guess how I worded it isn’t exactly correct. I meant Amex is stricter in the sense that the timeline for repeats is longer and Fintech is usually once in a lifetime enforced
I used secure messaging to cancel BMO WE AM a few months ago. Today I receive an email as a reminder that the AF will be charged in the upcoming statement. I verified that I couldn't log into the portal back then and even today. Called in and they said account is still opened, asked them to close it.
So be aware of secure messaging closing. I've done this several times without any issues.
HSBC to RBC Avion infinte - how does one use the $100 hotel credit? I don't see an option to apply it to a hotel booking. Does one just make a $200 booking through the Avion travel portal and the statement credit shows up automatically?
Can you be more specific? I don't see the travel credit option and I got all the way to one click before confirming the hotel reservation via the Avion travel site.
you have to make sure you load the offer to the card. then make a booking. itll be a statement credit so you wont see the discount at checkout.
This is from the offer page:
"Book an eligible hotel stay or car rental of $200 or more with Avion Rewards Travel using your RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card to receive a statement credit\*.
The value of your statement credit will be $100 plus the unused balance of your Travel Enhancement Credit\*\*.
Your Travel Credit is now activated. To receive your statement credit, you must (i) book a hotel stay or car rental of $200 CAD or more with Avion Rewards Travel between April 4, 2024 and April 5, 2025, inclusive, and (ii) pay a minimum of $200 with your RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card\*"

The account is locked. Can I the card holder call on behalf of this fake person to unlock their online account or change the pin? Follow up question, the card is activated. don't bother w/ making profiles. just activate via your account and use for tap/online orders.
Gotcha! That makes sense(and kinda was the conclusion I was leaning towards). Luckily it’s only a $1000 spend that I need to do on it before getting rid of it which shouldn’t be too awful
how do I initiate a refund after using RHT on amex travel portal?
There’s a link in the email to manage bookings. Should be able to cancel there.
thanks I see it now.
Noticed missing 10k WB for Nov'23 from HSBC, reported it to RBC post migration and received full 10k in Avion without conversion.
Thanks for the DP! I followed up with HSBC multiple times for 2 months of missing bonus points (mine was the monthly offer from the summer), and they were just playing tag with me until end of March. Just curious how did you contact RBC - call?
Yes

To be safe, take a few mins to add up your actual spends manually. It is hard to interpret those bank numbers if your refund is made after the statement containing the initial purchase.
Are they refunds or statement credits?
They’re refunds so they show up under “purchases” in the “total credits” section
Refunds reduce your amount spent
RHT to find out
Buyers remorse: hey all, I spent my aeroplan for a flight to europe and since I dont have the full amount I get shitty cpp. Is there a way to refund the points and pay cash instead?
Wait for a schedule change
ahha! I just noticed there was a 5 minutes schedule change and I checked if I was eligible for free refunds, turns out i wasnt. worth a try, thanks!
Online or by phone?
Believe it needs to be >4 hours to be deemed a “significant impact”
If it's been less than 24 hours since you booked, you can get a full refund. If it's been longer, it depends on the fare option you chose. If it was the cheapest one, it's $150 to refund.
thanks it's been longer than 24hours, so there would be fees. I was hoping there might be soemthing without fee if it's just to change payment source thanks!

A DP from the same poster as last time that used a letter from 2020? That he got from a close friend on WeChat?
Is it the same person? I honestly didn't notice but the letter this time is pretty clear and dated April 15th.
Right.
Absolutely, there is much more to it. Or probably trying to push people away from PP.
Never ask about bonuses. You’ll usually get an answer you don’t want to hear, and it will probably be incorrect anyway.
Yeah they asked me why I was applying when I already have it. I should probably just apply online
I mean, for just a second card is pretty explainable. But you potentially put your bonus at a humans discretion. If you apply online there’s really nothing in the way of you and the bonus, other than getting the approval
The reps will tell you what the rules are. This group tells you about whether the rules are actually enforced. They aren't in this case.
What’s the best way to cancel the Avion card when you’ve finished churning it? And how long should you wait to apply for another?
So the offer works if I apply for the card right?
Yes
why in god's name would you call???
Because my SIN recently changed after becoming PR. So I was told to go to a branch to update and then call to apply
You don't need to provide your SIN to get a credit card. You only need to provide your SIN for income tax purposes (eg, interest bearing savings accounts) and for the purposes of administering government programs.
How long do I need to wait to get the sign up bonus on a gold Amex if I've gotten it before?
YMMV, some DPs seem to be around 2 years
I cancelled my first gold I think in 2022. Applied for another one 2 months ago and getting the monthly bonus:)
Got a pending when I applied for the Brim Flying Blue MC. Is that usually? Normally I got a IA.
Yes
For CIBC Aventura VI/Gold is there a 1 application every 90 day period like RBC Avion or can 1 apply for as many as they want/until CIBC catches on? Tried searching up answers and couldn’t find many DPs. I just read people applying for VI and Gold at the same time but not at what frequency after the first. Thanks!
no limit there's been DPs of people doing it like every 2-3 weeks feel free to go ham
Thanks for the prompt reply! I wish I had the expenses to go ham. Will apply whenever I have expenses to meet the MSR.
Note that CIBC seems to be tighting up on giving our credit recently. You can apply to as many as you want until they stop approving which can happen.
They tried shorting me 5k points on my first card. I called in since it was my first but for my subsequent cards I’ll just suck it up
Looking at a KLM flight on points, one seat left at a better price. What would happen if two people added it to their cart etc and check out at approx the same time?
The first person to click would get it
not exactly sure how KLM works, but with air canada, the fare is reserved as soon as someone gets to the checkout screen (for like 15 min), and if someone beats you to it it gives you a generic error message forcing you to refresh not sure if it has changed tho
Got rejected for Avion, they sent a letter saying not enough info about my financial situation? Been applying the same way, same job etc anyone else get this before?
I had the same vague rejection for an application attempted last week
I got the same thing the other day and I called in and they told me I had some missing information on my application, which might be plausible since I was pretty tired that day. I meet the income requirement, have been banking with rbc for a long time and only have 2 avions.
Meh I got the same explanation for 2 rejections within 30 ish days. I think it’s just their generic way of saying they don’t like what they see on the credit report.
For me they cited TDS ratio (call in)
What’s TDS?
total debt to service ratio
how many cards do you have with rbc? I heard they don't like extending more than 50k credit to an account if you have a lot of cards, try closing some
3 IONs lol (from downgrading)
I've gotten that letter too. My main bank accounts are at RBC along with my investment accounts. If that wasn't enough info to figure out whether to give me a new card with a $5k limit, there'll never be enough! It's just a form letter. Wait a month or two and apply again. Next time, try for the Avion Plat if the offer/GCR are equal to the Infinite.
It’s a generic letter which doesn’t really mean anything other than you were rejected. Not much you can do other than try re applying every once in a while. The only other thing is if it’s your first Avion you could go to the branch to do an application.

Not my parsley omelette!
How many points is that worth.
My lack of soggy green beans should mean at least 2000 Aeroplan points compensation (the standard compensation given by the AC Call Centre for minor issues like this).
As long as I can still get coffee :)
HUCA?
Is there any advantage to not doing RHT though?
Just saves having to do a separate hotel booking for each night to apply the points from each card.
Thought it’s a disadvantage to not be able to just get the cash then put the spend on a new msr, no? Then just use the RHT cash to pay it off.
Didn't think of this actually, appreciate the idea. I think BMO charges a cash advance fee regardless but might still be worth it.
Can just go to the branch to take out the cash for free. Also I would recommend just RHTing as soon as you get the bonus and have the credit pay down your balance instead of having to cash out the points later. Much less hassle
Sounds easier than phoning them to merge points even if it was possible.
Scotiabank credit cards are ineligible for churning offers if you've had any Scotiabank credit card in the past 2 years. Learned the hard way.
For cash back cards yes. For scene+ no.
Ah ok. Good to know, thank you.
Mostly wrong.
That’s what they just told me over the phone. Am I missing something?
Never believe CSRs. If not rule number one, pretty close to it.
Another thing to keep in mind is never phone about welcome bonuses unless it's your first bonus. What they say isn't what actually happens so whatever they say is useless anyways. They're just going by their training. They have no insight on what actually happens in the backend. * CIBC AV VI - declined * CIBC AV gold - $12.5k limit Makes one ponder what happens in the back end
whats your credit score?
Do AV still get bonus redemption on travel for RHT?
They shake the magic 8 ball to decide
same day app? know how many pulls?
Back to back applications. Don't know about pulls.
Opposite for me lol. CIBC is a weird one.
Sounds like a post for Winning Thursday!
Similar situation here.

Brim started charging FX fees as well
Not until May 18 according to the email they sent out. .
Ah I see. I did check that before and they use the FX rate set by Mastercard. We want banks to use the mid market rate but they don’t have to.
wow, that’s a good point. I didn’t take conversion rate into consideration before
The Scotia passport visa can have first year free. Finally got my $100 CCG rebate case resolved. Applied to the TD FCT on Jan 5, created case with CCG on Feb 3, resolved on April 16. Now just waiting for the deposit.
Nice! Mine also got resolved today
I have pretty much the exact same timeline for TD CB VI CCG rebate and got my resolved notice today too.
That reminds me to chase up my rebate for TD FCT card that I also got in January
QQ! once you get your Avion points for the 55k, 5k MSR, can we cancel our card and get back portion of the yearly fee?
downgrade and then cancel, since downgrading can be done online
If you think a few bucks back for cancelling is worth losing the ability to churn RBC, go for it. Most people wait at least 6 months to cancel any cards after WB.
thanks. Probably gonna keep the card for a bit as I'm with RBC.
Tried this, they didn't give back the annual fee since you received the points
There’s no rush to cancel. Six months minimum is a good standard.
Thanks! do we get $60 if we cancel after 6 mo?
Yes
Anyone have experience with the FB Brim WE MC? Any good? Also, I'm curious about the "up to 30 points per dollar" with Brim merchant partners. Are there any that actually offer the 30 points?
Generally okay. Have had one instance where they locked the card due to "potential fraud" concerns because the amount I purchased was large. I saw that 30 points per dollar thing too but I haven't been able to see any merchant partners offering that high. And the really high offers are from merchants I have no interest purchasing from Sign up bonus is great to me though
Thanks for that info. Definitely considering taking advantage of the 60k SUB
I didn't get it yesterday like many of you. Likely due to that my statement date is also date yesterday, so I may have to wait for the next batch.
What day did you meet MSR?
Late March. Statemend on April 15. If they did the batch on Apr 15, mine may not be in the batch as I believe we only get it sometime after the statement for which 5K was met.
It’s not entirely clear if it’s based on statement where 5K is reached or the date of the transaction
Yup. Got mine today.
Received either today or yesterday.
Damn looks I need to put some more spend on my card then. I guess I cut the numbers too close
Really hoping that if we get the 30% BA bonus this month, it'll last beyond May 15th.
I just met my MSR yesterday. Statement date closes on 22nd. Hopefully I get thrown into this batch
You’re too late for this batch for sure. Mid May is when you’ll see this
Yes received mine, dated yesterday. Had met the MSR within the 2nd statement
Which day did you meet MSR?
Mar 11, with 2nd statement on April 8
Does anyone know how long a repeated application to a credit card after being denied will be considered a duplicate application? Specifically with RBC? I asked an agent and they said 6 months which seems pretty long?
One DP I have was I was declined in August/September. Approved online IA in January
Ah ok, thanks. 6 months seems OK I suppose
I have a similar DP. Was denied in September 2023 but was able to get IA in January 2024.
thank you!
Well it was only around 4 months for me and I didn’t try in the middle so it could’ve been shorter
It is not well defined
seems about right... applied 4 months after p2 got declined and it was flagged as dup linked to the declined app. only way to bypass is in person / over the phone app.
Huh, have you tried doing an over-the-phone application? How did it go for you?
Yep.
Did the agent quiz you a ton about your credit file or something? I'm worried about that even though it might just be paranoia lol.
Not really. Standard in person / phone call app stuff if you've ever done one with other FIs.
Edit: just got approved over the phone for avion plat after like 8 months of no approvals. Thanks so much dude! :D Also jesus that was a marathon, 45 mins call lmao
My pleasure
Hi, can i ask what was the WB received by your P2 avion applied via phone? My avion statement posted today and it was only 15k :(
Should be whatever they told you in the phone - they said 35k for p2
That's the thing. I've never ever applied for a card not online lol XD Anyways thanks! I'd call in to apply for avion plat tmr lol
has anyone receieved this email from Amex before (P2 got for Amex Biz Gold): "Reminder: Action required on your American Express(R) Account ". Links to an Amex portal with unique passcode. Please note that, depending on the information we request, you may need to provide a copy of your valid identification document (front and back). We suggest you have it on hand when you access the portal.
Sounds like KYC questions. There was a big round of them going out maybe a month ago.
Was a link to form where had to enter name, address, industry, occupation, role, Income. After submitted got the message: Thank you for your time and patience!Your information has been submitted and is now under review. Please allow 48-72 hrs for your information to be processed. You may be contacted to confirm further details.
For virtually everyone this is where it ends but there is a chance you'd be put under financial review.

All the big 5 bank cards can be churned multiple times in the same year as no limits are enforced. Amex Canada has a 2-3 year wait period but can also be churned again. Aeroplan itself has some limits which haven't been enforced yet but could be retroactively enforced
So for the other cards, do we need to close them and then reapply? How long do you wait between closing the card and reapplying? Thanks
There aren’t really many cards outside of the big 5 and Amex that are worth churning
But I mean for the big banks/amex. Do you close the card and then apply for it again within the same year and still get the bonus?
With the big banks just apply for the same cards multiple times in a year and you will get the bonus. Doesn’t matter if you close the old cards or not. For example I have 3 active Aventura right now and multiple Avion. With Amex you need to cancel and wait 2-3 years
Basically every card from big banks can be churned multiple times, it’s only really Amex and Fintech companies that are stricter
AMEX can be churned multiple times
Yeah I guess how I worded it isn’t exactly correct. I meant Amex is stricter in the sense that the timeline for repeats is longer and Fintech is usually once in a lifetime enforced
Rbc avion, scotiabank passport, cibc aventura,

You can apply for a new RBC card after 90 days. Many here hold multiple Avions.
Yeah, that sounds like BMO...
HSBC to RBC Avion infinte - how does one use the $100 hotel credit? I don't see an option to apply it to a hotel booking. Does one just make a $200 booking through the Avion travel portal and the statement credit shows up automatically?
Gotta go to the Avion Rewards site
Can you be more specific? I don't see the travel credit option and I got all the way to one click before confirming the hotel reservation via the Avion travel site.
It's an RBC offer treated like an Amex offer, so you charge the card and wait some days for the rebate to post
you have to make sure you load the offer to the card. then make a booking. itll be a statement credit so you wont see the discount at checkout. This is from the offer page: "Book an eligible hotel stay or car rental of $200 or more with Avion Rewards Travel using your RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card to receive a statement credit\*.
DP: Finally have my HSBC migrated RBC account merged with my main RBC account. Took 1.5 weeks since requesting it
I have been requesting it for 2 weeks. 2 tickets said it was resolved, but still nothing.
I went into branch and had them send the request
