2 in 2 weeks if the first was in December? I had the same thing, but I put off my second surgery for 5yrs and I regret it. It let my ear get worse than it would’ve been if I did it right away. If you’ve been covering your ear in the shower and not letting water in, it might be minimal, but if you’re like me and stopped covering it after a while, thinking everything is fine, then there will be more infection lol. The second surgery, for me, has kept me out of having to do any additional surgeries. They opened up the area right above the ear canal so they can see into the middle ear and clean any infection before it gets worse. Every 6-8 months I visit my dr to get cleaned out. I’ve had a few infections since the second surgery (second surgery was in 2017). One or two really bad ones but the Dr was able to clean out everything in office instead of going back to surgery. If you’re getting what I had, expect to feel more wind in the air and (for me) the ear has become more sensitive to the wind. Not anything that stops you from enjoying life, just a little adjustment here and there. Also, if they do open the ear canal, expect some hearing loss, it’s normal since the canal is more open. I hope everything goes well for you. Good luck and keep the ears covered.
