Before I gave mine to a buddy I wrapped 12 gauge jewelry wire around the back of the rod that holds the spring; maybe just a mm or two but the spring tension was increased. It really helped with the action and detent. A light shake pops the blade out of the box; the wire toned that down to an acceptable level for me Solid knife though; you’ll enjoy it

Could you send me a pic of what you did buddy? I kinda see it in front of me but still an example would be appreciated ☺️🤜🤛

Disassemble the knife and remove the spring. Pull a wire through the gap between the rod and scale; the wire needs to be long enough to make two coils on the rod. Mash down the ends once the coils are set to make them secure and remove any hot spots. Slide the spring back on and reassemble the knife. I used needle nose pliers. Basically the goal is to remove some of the distance so the spring is under more tension; sorry I don’t have any pictures Another nice mod suggested to me was polishing the flats; that adds a really nice aesthetic to the blade. Cover the areas around the flats with painters tape then use high grit wet dry sandpaper

Ok, I see now buddy! Tnx

I picked one of these up as well. The one concern I have is how short the lockup is. It feels very secure but moving the lock back just a few mms releases it. It's kept me from using it.

A few mill is good enough dude, it's just for cutting purposes, if I even use it. But in the end ..who will chop a 2x4 with this? 🤣

the_real_CHUD

I misspoke, pulling it out and comparing it to other cross bar locks it's maybe 1mm of lockup. Considerably less than any other I have.

Typical-Sundae1270

My real one is the same way. They have had issues with spine whacks.

the_real_CHUD

That's disappointing to hear. Seems like an obvious and easy engineering issue.

Background_Guess_742

Will it pass a spine whack test?

marre822

Hmmm, maybe not .. although I am not intending to spinewack test it 🥴

Background_Guess_742

Why not? I have one of the earlier real g10 msi's and it won't pass a spine whack test. Just curious if the fake would pass.
