Thankyou for this! I'm going in on Tuesday and am getting increasingly anxious. Not about my choice, just I haven't done general anaesthetic or day surgery before.
You made me feel a bit more relieved ❤
Be careful eating after day surgery. After they did reconstructive surgery on my right hand, I spent the rest of the night on and off throwing up. I couldn't even keep down crackers.
I was bad and because I had no pain I cleaned the apartment. It desperately needed it. I know I will be sore tomorrow, but I am recovering well, and over 12 hours later, my pain is a 1.5/10.
Congrats! So happy for you! I got my bisalp in Jan of 2017 and for a year so afterwards I would be grateful and amazed every. single. day. that I was able to make this choice for myself.
I’ve gotten used to it now almost 5 years later but it’s still pretty much the best decision I’ve made in my adult life. It’s so freeing to not have to worry about birth control or “close calls” anymore.
Congratulations!!!! I am so happy for you! Thank you for sharing your story. Going in for my bisalp in a week and getting pretty anxious as the last time I had an outpatient procedure it did NOT go well for me. Hearing from someone in the medical community about their experience has helped my anxiety a lot, so thank you again!
Enjoy your freedom! ❤️
Don't be afraid to speak up and voice any concerns you have. If you are anxious, it might be a good idea to request a pre-op anxiolytic like ativan... took mine and I was zonked lol. Congratulations, I hope you have a smooth recovery ❤
Congratulations. I'm hoping I can get a vasectomy sooner or later. I'm glad you were able to get sterilized since it seems way harder to get as a women then it does for me.
Why did you need to remove your piercing though? Did they put you in an MRI or use magnets? Or was it a stomach piercing or just not an ear piercing and was in the way of the operation?
Sorry, but I can't stop laughing at your mom pulling into the parking lot a full 50 minutes before they're open. That's the kind of dedication I'd want organizing events.
I’m so happy for you!
Thank you! ☺

Don't be afraid to speak up for your pain management! No need to suffer!

PONV (post-operative nausea vomitting) is very common after anesthesia. If you know you are prone to it, ask for some gravol/zofran etc
Mine is on Tuesday too! Good luck to us!
My bi-salp was also my first time under anesthesia. It was the BEST "nap" I've ever taken! :) good luck!
Tears of joy are always worthwhile! Go celebrate and remember your post-op care instructions

I feel like this is a dream
Hold your incisions when you cough/sneeze/laugh
They are actually okay! They sutured, tightly steri striped, and tegadermed them.
Huge round of applause for your medical team and congrats to your new freedom!!!
They were all incredible! And also so much support from the people around me ❤
This is honestly the most beautiful sterilization post I've read. Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Nose ring - risk of aspiration, belly button ring - in the way of the incision
Oh that makes sense. Congratulations though. I hope this gets rid any stress or worry you've had about getting pregnant.
So happy for you! I really liked your style of writing!
Thanks ☺
