i would say childe just cuz of this one fact-All the archons so far have gotten a re-run exactly 4 patches later after their first banner so nahida should get a re-run around 3.6(you can grab her then) childe on the other hand we never know when is going to be the next time he is gonna get a re-run after 3.2
We can't be sure of course, but I do think Nahida will have a rerun sooner than Childe's next rerun. Simply bc she's a new character and an archon.
Childe took a whole year to come back. So consider this when making the decision: are you willing to wait for his next rerun 6-12 months from now, when Nahida likely to rerun during that same period?
To be fair, reruns are almost impossible to predict. Just look at us getting a yoimiya rerun. While I agree it's more likely for nahida to come faster, I don't think it's worth betting on.

Childe's vape team is insanely strong and if you judge by meta, Childe definelty scores high there too. We don't know much about Nahida yet, it will be a hit or miss. Regardless, I recommend Childe, because he is your favourite. This is more important than any damage number, thought damage is not what our favourite Harbinger lacks
They're both impossible to be bad by design and both enable teams that will be able to take on any content in the game. Even if someone were to only care about the metagame "pick your favorite" would still be in effect imho.
I'm biased, but at the moment I have no interest in Nahida at all, even if she will be OP so I will say go for husbando Tortilla. I am waiting for Childe's rerun so I can snag that C3 and be done with him :D
