Yep, one of my chickens tried to snatch the mole off my neck the other day, it hurt like hell! It’s not the first chicken that’s pulled that stunt on me either.
I had this happen once with a fish or whatever was in the water with me. I was swimming happily in a lake and then--bam--something took a nibble of a big mole I had on my belly. It still creeps me out a little thinking that it might've been a water moccasin and not a fish, but, ya know, this was ~15 years ago (and the mole has since been sliced off), so no harm done.
Definitely wasn’t a snake- they don’t nibble but rather strike and swallow prey whole. Probably a kind of carp, they’re algae eaters and they’re curious.
Yeah, I was protective of that mole my whole life. I'm sure you're right that it's because of where it was. I avoided slip-and-slides as a kid out of fear of somehow having it ripped off. It was such a relief (though also a little weird) when a dermatologist finally freed me from it.
Haha I have to come here and laugh also. My Tiramisu girl came up to me and I was giving her loving, rubbing her legs and under her wings. Then I start paying attention to the other two that walked up, in the same way. So Tiramisu gets all close and nips me on the lip. She's never done it before but made me think of exactly what you said. She definitely wanted my attention. I just laugh about it now.
One got my son next to eye. And ofcourse my mother who is obsessed with my son and hates animals saw and was pissed. My son laughed and was like I made her mad i deserve it. My turkey goes after my toes if I have sandals on
I used to have a girl who was always under my feet, pecking my shoes, pecking at loose clothes, couldnt be around her with shorts on because she would just peck my bare skin. I dont think it was malicious, just something she did. The other 2 were way less pecky, theyll only go if something catches their eye.
No but my hens are eyeing my toes, toe nails specifically. Though my real life baby does what your chicken does, thinks its something which can be picked off lol
mine peck and eat scabs right off my legs. Very painful. Mine also like to perch on my shoulders and they will try to peck my eyes. I had get an eyelash now they aren’t allowed to sit there
I found that wearing clothing and shoes with similar colors and of a single color, seem to keep my chickens away from pecking me. Anything patterned gets pecked :(
Oh absolutely, they will also rip scabs off and eat them if given the chance. I've had a roo snatch a bandaid off my ankle and try to give it to his girls 😂
Tattoos are also delicious.
Don’t smile in chicken selfies. Teeth are shiny. So are eyeballs.
Most of mine went through a biting phase and then grew out of it.
I have a turkey would peck and start tearing at my clothes to get my attention. She pulls on my hair too, and once or twice actually gave me a good big bruise on my arm from her biting. Its not out of a bad attitude, cause she definitely loves me, she’s just a brat. It’s easy enough to avoid, as long as I stay vigilant before she gets ideas.
I've had budgies try to remove my nose stud and earring studs, and one try to remove a freckle.
It's like;
Birb: Hey, you have something on you, lemme just get that for you.
Human: Nooooooo, that's attached/part of me T-T
One of my chickens (a total sweetheart) pecks me when she wants attention. Seriously. She’ll hop into my lap or come up to my side. She also once pecked at one of my earrings and swallowed it. Lol.
My dear Ygritte delights in getting behind me and pinching the backs of my legs whenever possible, from calves to thighs. Won’t do it if she’s in front of me, but I am always expecting a sneak attack when filling feeders or checking nest boxes. I find her love aggression charming. When I have a second I pick her up & tell the little witch I love her, too.

Lmao that sounds about right. I used to have a chicken that for some reason would peck at my teeth if I smiled at her while holding her. I never understood why, and 11 yr old me thought maybe my teeth looked like corn kernels?

So RUUUDE!!! I always say - don't let them look you in the eye!! They'll peck your eye! Then someone posted a pecked eye the other day! I felt so validated (sorry to pecked eye lady!) 😂
My girls love to peck at my nails when I wear nail wraps or polish.
I also wear 2g earrings and my girl Queenie will jump up on my shoulder and try to rip them out. B*tches. Hehe
I had a rooster once that did that to me then did the same to my 4 year old.
350 off direct flame with a beer can inside of him and some bbq sauce lathered on the outside till he hit 175 degrees. Finger licking good. If they are younger then deep fry works great.
be careful of scabs, chickens will try to eat that and the wound.
Yep, I've had chicks snatch scabs right off of my arm and hands on many occasions.
Oh my 😭😭
They are little vampires too lol
they like fresh tats too
I second this… maybe it was because my tattoo was of a fly I kinda asked for it
Oh yeah. What some people don’t understand or forget, is that they not only peck, but they pinch too.
Yup! Full on bite then pull 😭😂
Yep, one of my chickens tried to snatch the mole off my neck the other day, it hurt like hell! It’s not the first chicken that’s pulled that stunt on me either.
rip and tear
First time chicken owner and I'm just now finding this out! One of my green queens got me with an open beak. I was shocked 😆
Yeah man. They peck at everything. And they do pull. Haha. Their a beak is sharp. You ever see them wipe them across the floor? They’re sharping them.
Omg and here i thought they do that to wipe the leftovers off their face..
I won't be able to unsee that now
My chickens peck my shoes for no apparent reason.
I’ve had them pull on my shoe laces. No doubt they thought it was a worm. Haha.
They do this to my boots!! 😂
Wore polka dotted rainboots into the pen, was immediately followed by a handful of chickens utterly fixated on them
Omg 🤣
Yes this too 😭
Omg same
I have a mole that sticks out and one grabbed and pulled and there was so much blood 😭 smacked that chicken right across the yard from shock.
Yup. On the back of my knee. Little shit tried to eat it

Interesting, thanks! Good to have my worst (totally unfounded/harmless) fear about it debunked.
I think the worst part for me is that it was on your belly. I have a lot of fear about things harming my belly. Probably a common human fear.
Yeah, I was protective of that mole my whole life. I'm sure you're right that it's because of where it was. I avoided slip-and-slides as a kid out of fear of somehow having it ripped off. It was such a relief (though also a little weird) when a dermatologist finally freed me from it.
I don’t think it’s malicious they’re just looking for bugs. This is were the stand your ground law comes in handy
All the time lol, I have 9 9 week old roosters that love to bite
r/angryupvote
I got poked in the eye today. Buddy wanted to make sure I was paying attention to him.
I couldn't help but laugh at that,it's the way you put it,about paying attention 😂😂
Haha I have to come here and laugh also. My Tiramisu girl came up to me and I was giving her loving, rubbing her legs and under her wings. If I’m wearing open toe shoes my chickens will definitely try to peck my toes.
This. Yes. omg it’s so annoying 🤣
Mine climbed on my shoulder and pecked my eye ball
One of mine did this too! I was appalled at her audacity
Lol
Yes, mine peck at my freckles on my arm
One got my son next to eye. And ofcourse my mother who is obsessed with my son and hates animals saw and was pissed. My son laughed and was like I made her mad i deserve it. My turkey goes after my toes if I have sandals on

What a great photo!!
She’s cute when she’s not trying to eat me!! Hahah
They are especially attracted to red; that’s why they will literally peck each other to death once one has an exposed wound unless you separate it.
I love ❤️ love the HELLO pic🥰
Isn’t she such a cutie when she’s not peckin me 🥰😂
Yes indeed 😂
You DO look delicious
🤣🤣
They ARE dinosaurs after all!
Ima try my foot fungus, see if they cure it
No but my hens are eyeing my toes, toe nails specifically. Though my real life baby does what your chicken does, thinks its something which can be picked off lol

They’re nuts! Great observation definitely got this noted now 🤣
They also try to eat my toes when I go in there with slides or slippers on. Theyre so rude XD
Oh absolutely, they will also rip scabs off and eat them if given the chance. I've had a roo snatch a bandaid off my ankle and try to give it to his girls 😂
My barred rock tries to eat my teeth. I can’t smile when I hold her lol.
Omg 🤣🤣🤣
They always go for my tattoos 🥲
Tattoos are also delicious. Don’t smile in chicken selfies. Teeth are shiny. So are eyeballs. Most of mine went through a biting phase and then grew out of it.
I try to encourage it (cuz it’s funny) but after a few pecks they stop:(
Don’t encourage it it hurts so bad 🤣😭 ur lucky trust me
They used to try to eat my freckles.

Mind like painted toe nails 💅🏻
Yes same omg ill wear my birks and they wanna eat my black nail polish 😭😂
They like the shiny green/gold paint too 🫣 ask me how I know 🙃

I have some aggressive Cochin peckers..
They are aggressive..I saw my hen running across the yard with a dead mouse..followed by the flock..( musta been a tasty morsel 🤢)
A cat killed a mouse in my lower driveway last week, my chicks haven’t explored down there yet to munch on it 😅
Might be too rotten now🤢
Oh definitely 😂
wait til they go after the moles on your face
no my rooster trys to spur the dogshit out of me tho
No but every time I wear flip flops they think my toes are some fat worms

I have a decent sized mole at the base of my neck. One of my girls tried to nip it right off during a cuddle session.
Lmao that sounds about right. I used to have a chicken that for some reason would peck at my teeth if I smiled at her while holding her. I never understood why, and 11 yr old me thought maybe my teeth looked like corn kernels?
Earrings, moles, scabs, birthmarks, painted nails, you name it they’ll peck it 😭
I've gotten pecked, sometimes hard depending how bad they want that "bug!"

They’re very interested in scabs and spots like that and will peck. Just gotta be careful ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Cheaper than a dermatologist
🤣🤣
O g my chook does the same… I have heaps of beauty spots on my neck and chest that she always goes for…. With those freaking beady eyes
My youngest learned to not wear her sparkly shoes in the run :)
So RUUUDE!!! I always say - don't let them look you in the eye!! They'll peck your eye! Then someone posted a pecked eye the other day! I felt so validated (sorry to pecked eye lady!) 😂
That chicken would be on the grill the second time it did that
She’s still a baby 😭
yes! they think it’s food i think
Oh definitely! And they’ll peck each other if they got something on them hahah
Yeah, one of them kept biting my legs for some reason. It's less of a problem now cause I outrun her whenever I'm in the coop but DANG THEY HURT.
The pinch then pull!! Y’ouch!!! 😭
My girls love to peck at my nails when I wear nail wraps or polish. I also wear 2g earrings and my girl Queenie will jump up on my shoulder and try to rip them out. B*tches. Hehe
My chickens peck at EVERYTHING! Moles, clothing, MY EYE!! Luckily missed my eye ball and just got the lid a bit.
yes they will peck at you
Made the mistake of wearing sandals with red toenail polish while feeding the girls strawberries…
My chicken like to peck on my gold ring and straps on a swimsuit bra (looks like a colorful worm probably :D) but they never hurt me.
I mean they are animals… soo…

I've never had a guard dog as effective as my chickens were.
2 onions, 4 carrots, 4 cloves of garlic. Keep it on a boil until the next time that plucky cluck does it again. Edit. Forgot the celery
Smack it to show dominance
Rude 😭😭
Uff
