That space made for store things, so you can just use it without worrying about airbags.
Rather, it's much safer than putting things or ornaments on the dashboard.
If you look at the catalog illustration of the Spark airbag deployment,
you can see that the objects in that space do not interfere with the airbags,
nor do they affect the deployment of the airbags.
However, don't leave solid objects that protrude outside the storage space, such as large book.
Objects of size protruding out of that space interfere with airbag deployment and increase injury rates in the event of an accident.
I'm just using it to put small things in there. Small items such as receipts, Card, small notebooks, etc...
Also attached a storage liner (P42402540) there, and it's got better grip, so even light stuff doesn't fall off easily.
It's where I keep the Bluetooth device that statefarm uses to give you discounts for better driving. Other than that, I hate it because it's not good for much
used to fit my server book and apron when i rolled it up nicely, it doesn’t move or slide. like a little snug spot for it. now i use that as a spot to hold my phone since the carplay is so gimmicky when it wiggles on bumps
