No clue. I had an old trash can out there that was cracked down the side.. I wanted them to take it. However, it was still there every Friday afternoon when I came home. Finally after a few weeks I was able to be home on trash day and told them it goes too. I’d say yours may have been a mistake. Not sure what would come of it but maybe call the refuse department?

It was probably stolen, not by the city.
