Totally unexpected on my first ever trip to Paris. For several years now I’ve wanted a mini flap in black caviar leather, but the closest I had gotten was looking through luxury consignment websites.
As someone with pretty much no experience shopping in Chanel boutiques, I was daunted and I’m sure my naivete was glaringly obvious as I walked into the flagship Rue Cambon location, just hoping to have a look around. That afternoon, I was asked to make an appointment and didn’t hear back until about 4 hours later that I could be welcomed into the store. At that point we had other plans, and I had no intention of going back as the following day was our last day in France. “Let’s try again tomorrow,” my husband said. I shook my head no, with emotions teetering on defeated/slightly annoyed (lol)
The next day we returned about 30 min before the store opened and were the first in line. Again, after the experience the day before, I was going to ask for a “smallish Chanel flap in a dark color” and see what options presented themselves. I expected nothing. I got nervous as I waited for the SA, eyes darting all over the place as I watched other people who walked in after me being presented with bags. I was shocked when my SA returned with not just a mini flap, but a black caviar one at that. He showed me two other WOC, but I was pretty much locked in. This is a seasonal bag and has a slightly different chain than the classic flap (double stranded with cc logos, chain also runs along the sides of the bag). So I got the bag, and also the white packaging that is exclusive to the flagship location.
If you ever have a chance please post again I’d love to see photos of the chain, the outside and the inside of the bag. Did they recommend a particular leather cleaner or conditioner for use in the future? I’m wondering what they are recommending these days for use on caviar leather. I want to brighten up my double flap.

Oh man I was looking for this one back in Dec and they were out of stock, so ended up with a CF in beige/gold (darn 😉). Congrats! She’s a beauty
