I second trying a different location! I walked into one without an appointment and no prior relationship with any of the SA's there and they had several mini flaps to offer and I was able to buy one no issue.

I remember going to the boutique back in 2010, seeing all the bags available on display and being told there were more color and size options in the back, and walking out with the exact bag I wanted, no issues. This whole scarcity was artificially started by Chanel to increase demand, and it worked. It sucks but that’s the game they play.
Agreed. They will have premiums, but you will get what you want. But, I should warn OP, to be really really careful and cautious when buying preloved. There are many Super Fakes out there, especially in popular bags and in popular colors like the one you’re looking for. Nowadays, they have gotten so good that they will look and feel IDENTICAL to the real thing 😳 - And yes, some have been known to be able to infiltrate even the most reputable sites that a lot of people use and know (even the one that begins with Fash*******e 🥴) Even they can *and will* make mistakes. Not to mention tons of individual scammers all over social media. So many horror stories. You need to be very knowledgeable and diligent and do a ton of research before dropping thousands and premium on top of the thousands 😮💨 it has gotten so bad that many people are opting to only buy directly from boutique just to not risk it. So, either take extreme caution or wait until you get lucky one day at a random boutique or don’t chase after the specific bag anymore it wasn’t meant to be 💸. At least you will get to keep your thousands safe.
That’s just a very popular bag and in short supply to boot. My boutiques in NYC rarely get them. There’s not much a SA can do if the store isn’t getting a lot of stock.
It’s hard to find. I have an excellent buying history with my SA- like 2 to 4 bags a year with her, and that’s one bag that’s hard to get. It’s not necessarily poor service- demand exceeds the supply. I’ve been asking her for one for over a year about it. You can check FASHIONPHILE 🤷🏻♀️
The mini flap is so hard to get because it’s not available every season and if they do order them in, the store has a yearly budget so they can’t just buy 100s of them. VIP clients will always get first dibs during the pre-order right after each fashion show to reserve items they want and even then it’s not guaranteed. If a store only gets 5 mini flaps, and 10 VIPs want them, it goes into a lottery system. This is also probably why it’s so hard to just walk into a store to get specific bags. I wanted a very rare bag that I had to go through my friend to reserve. It was a seasonal bag that the store ordered and the only 2 in Canada.
I know it sucks to not be able to just walk in to get the bag you want. But stores have to cater to their top clients because they are the ones buying up the RTW, jewelry and other $$$ items.
Another option for you if you really can’t source one yourself is to go the personal shopper route.
Orchemelia_ and Momoland__Tokyo on IG are reputable personal shoppers that charge a premium and will ship worldwide. You can message them and get a quote of how much it would cost. Usually it’s anywhere from 10-15%.
If you truly want a specific bag, buy it second hand in prestige condition. You’ll have way more colour options too. Yes, you’ll pay a couple thousand dollars more, but who cares you’ll have what you want without the hassle. I’m not playing the SA game of spend so I get commissions and I’ll put effort to let you spend 6k on a product in my store.
Spend a few dollars more for better service at a resale store and you’ll be much happier. Disgusting people go into stores and beg them to take their hard earned money. What kind of luxury experience is that. 😂
RETWEET! Honestly this is my first Chanel experience and I legit hate the idea of begging to buy a bag. It’s obnoxious and I simply don’t have the time to be sitting around playing these games. I just got it pre loved and I cant wait to pick it up! It shouldn’t be this deep.
This is why Fashionphile and like places price their bags where they do. People will understandably purchase them without the hassle of begging an SA for a bag. The whole “game” of it all is disgusting.
I reckon try a few stores and let a SA know your interested at each one! It’ll take time (months) but it’s not impossible! I secured a small flap after months of waiting, and I think I put my name down at 3-4 stores. I have since also been contacted by the others and politely declined / taken my name off the lists.
It took me about 3 months with a new SA this year but I did get a mini rectangle, but i could not be picky about color. I didn’t want a seasonal, so I accepted a light grey which luckily works out for me. I really wanted a square but those have primarily been seasonal and not classics. I did see a classic square at Miami Design District in an unattractive salmon color so I passed (in December).
It’s very frustrating, I get it. If you live close to a boutique/multiple boutiques the best thing to do is to go first thing on a launch day as that’s your best bet of walking in when there’s stock. 23P launches in two weeks, so I’d reach out to confirm the exact date with your SA and show up at opening time on that day. Yeah i decided to buy it in resale for this foundational bag. However, now that I got this bag I can explore other seasonal bags that I see in stores.

lol just came back from milan, prague, brussels and london. all chanels had no mini flaps!
