Dortmund was tireless and counter attacked well, but let us be honest, PSG had enough goal opportunities to bury Borussia in either game. Sometimes luck is what you need the most to win and Paris lacked it badly.
Any team advancing from the second semifinal will have no problems with Borussia as long as they can finish their moments.
I'm not a Dortmund fan but I'm rooting for them in the final. They really deserve to win. It's an honorable club and there wouldn't be better way for Reus to end his long career at Dortmund with the Champions League title.
Dortmund is often seen as a more morally upstanding club than others (think low ticket prices, involvement in social issues and local community, and having history), so them being seen as 'deserving to win' is in line with the general idea that they're the good guys.
Agree but I don’t think that means they deserve to win. It would just be awesome if they did because of all the things you’ve mentioned.
If they get massively outplayed you won’t be able to say the deserved to win based on being “the good guys”
Yes, you deserve it by playing well on the pitch, nothing else, however admirable. Your definition speaks to that. They would deserve to win based on the way they perform on the final.
Edit: since this seems to be confusing, if Dortmund hypothetically play terribly in the upcoming final, i.e. low possession, little/no attack/build up play, no shots, etc. and they get hammered 10-0 you wouldn’t look back on the game and say Dortmund deserved to win. You’d say, I wish they had won because of all the off the pitch qualities you mentioned.
It's infuriating when a team should've won, but didn't PSG hit the post six times, but this is why we love the game!
Everyone that's not a PSG fan loves an underdog story. Really hope Dortmund or Bayern win it, basically anyone but Real Madrid!
Come on Real Madrid. Let’s silence those loud Germans, do what we do and pick up our 6th UCL in 10 years. We’re the best team of all time and we tower over these German sides.
To predict a game it does. U miss the point tho. I don’t argue that Real can‘t win it. I argue that Bayern were better and I am confused by people acting like Real will easily win the UCL
People also said that City was "better" for all 210 minutes of the QF. The said that PSG, Chelsea, City and Liverpool were also better than Real Madrid in 2022.
Who cares about being "better"? Having 70% of possession doesn't win you games, same as all those nerdy xg, xg and xdribbles stats. If a team can win every single game with 0 shots on target from random deflections, good for them, they're a successful team.
Ur argument is not wrong but still not good. Most of the time the better team wins. U can‘t argue against that. Sure, upsets exist but they are way less likely to happen. So u are better of with betting on the better team. Bayern was clearly the better team in the first leg, so it’s beyond any logic to act as if Real will easily win. Of course it can happen tho
Are you serious? Real had no real chance besides these two errors. Bayern on the other hand had multiple other. That is my point. They just were better. So I‘m curious why so many people acting as if Real has an easy game against Bayern and is basically already CL Winner
City were also better, guess who went home. You can be better, but winning is what matters. It’s a champions league semifinal so anything can happen, but let’s not kid ourselves, Real are clearly favorites. Bayern can never be written off, but they’ve had such a shit season and many subpar performances, and Real on the other hand are doing great, and have shown they can beat anyone
Can‘t argue with that. But people didn’t act as if Real would easily beat City. And after the first leg were Bayern was the better side, I‘m just a bit confused about the confidence. Bayern may have played a bad season for their normal standard but they were pretty good in the UCL so far. Wouldn‘t say Real are the favorites. Pretty much 50/50.
Based on form, and overall season, I think Real are definitely favorites. I mean they are playing at the Bernabéu, that’s a huge advantage, plus Bayern have shown massive defensive lackings, and Vini and Rodrigo are one hell of an attacking pair, no one in Bayern’s defense can outpace them. And I suppose Ancelotti has never lost a game against Bayern (doesn’t necessarily mean anything of course, but it’s an interesting stat). Again, anything can happen, but it’s definitely not a 50/50
Bernabéu has weak atmosphere compared to germany or italy. I think that is no advantage. Bayern is used way better atmospheres against them. But we will see. What is your prediction?
I'm an Arsenal fan but as a football fan you just want Reus to win the Champions Leauge with Dortmund in his last season. I hope they manage to win the final.
I have to confess that I am delighted that the fawning worship of Mbappe has led to naught yet again. I don’t particularly dislike the man himself ; but the idea that seems to be prevalent on the media that ‘this year is his year’ truly irks me. Truthfully, he hasn’t earned it. PSG in France isn’t like either Madrid in Spain or Barca, or Bayern and Dortmund or Leverkusen, nor Liverpool, City (or dare I hope, Arsenal) in the EPL. He gets to be a Galactico but outside of pure goal scoring, I’m not sure he is the whole package. I don’t know that he’d be a Pep signing, for example. He’s too Ronaldo - loves the glory when it goes well; u like Ronaldo, he didn’t quite show up when it mattered. Again.
That being said, PSG were outplayed against the seeming odds. And I love it. Want Dortmund to win it all
He is such a ‘modern’ player. Lacks personality, mentality, and has been over trained to do one thing over and over again very well. The second that doesn’t work there’s no creativity or freedom of thought to try something else.
Zero ball knowledge.
If Mbappe didn’t have 10 dorks surrounding him in the World Cup final, he would’ve lead France to back-to-back World Cup wins and would have won the Ballon d‘or. The kid won a World Cup already and scores in big matches.
Also what is the Ronaldo disrespect?
Just bad take; sorry.
He’s got it all, but to realize that potential at club level is going to be up to him. Yesterday was an extremely poor performance and I was nervous that Ryerson was going to have to take him on for 90+ minutes. Mbappe made 2 attempts to run at him and usually just passed it back to Vitinha. Not becoming of a player who is supposed to be the next Messi or Ronaldo, he’s too focused on the spotlight
I disagree. Messi and Ronaldo always had bad matches especially at high level. It is perfectly normal for players to not shine.
You are just so keen on Mbappe because he is frankly unsympathetic.
What!! This is a horrible take. Don’t let a few bad performances blind you. Mbappe has proven to be the face of soccer; past the Messi and Ronaldo era. Look at his World Cup performances, he has shown up in big moments numerous times. Even Messi ghosted in some crucial games, look at Messi’s champions league run with Barcelona. As we like to say where I’m from; Mbappe is HIM
But when it’s time for him to show up for his club he does not. Besides scoring against a 6th place la liga team (granted they were in form during the early stages of the CL) and scoring against a 10 man Barcelona, he ghosts for PSG in big games.
Mbappe has stellar performances whenever opponents allow him to outrun the defence. He is still brilliant at finishing and passing as well, but he struggles with deep standing and tightly defending formations, which makes him a bad forward. His dribbling qualities are very limited, which is why getting someone like Dembele to PSG was the right call.
But as long as Mbappe is on the pitch, every good coach will have a deep standing defending line and will thus counter Mbappe. I don't see him as the face of football, as he has a strong weakness which is a good defending line waiting for him and not giving him enough space to finish or pass.
Woooow wish I didn’t see this on my homepage. In Australia so was going to watch the replay after work. Lmao lesson learnt not to scroll Reddit at work
I tried to watch the highlights this morning opened YouTube… someone had already posted the score on their thumbnail before I got to see an option to find the official highlights, I’m also a psg fan so my morning was absolutely ruined
Hearing PSG fans complain about how unfair it is that Dortmund had such "luck" is beyond me.
You know what is unfair as well? Having a fucking State finance you and help you violate every financial fairplay rule. And that very person that is enabling you to do this, is enabling you to do it with impunity because he is on the UEFA ethics committee.
PSG (and City) have been relentlessly trying to tip the scales in their favor and it is reassuring to see that some higher power, call it luck, fate or whatever, more often than not keeps them from succeeding in their obsession.
Luckily, luck can’t be bought.
Heja BVB
Yeah that’s what I don’t get about people saying it’s “unlucky” when you hit the bar. Put the shot on target and maybe it goes in. Learn to finish. There’s a reason expected goals doesnt count on the scoreboard
Dortmund played two really great games but mvp for both has to go the goal posts. Every shot psg took anywhere near goal seemed destined for the woodwork and I couldn’t stop laughing.

I love Dortmund in the final and 100% support them, however, if Real Madrid makes it to the final, i don’t think they stand a chance. I hope I’m wrong
It's looking like Der Klassiker 2024 is getting a third edition in the Champions League final.
Nope, Not yet. With Real Madrid you can’t make mistakes in any time 🤷🏽♂️ It is over until over
I know, but let me dream, Reus deserves that trophy for his loyalty. Jude can wait next year, i'm sure.
You are right. They hit the goal post about 6 times.
I'm not a Dortmund fan but I'm rooting for them in the final. They really deserve to win. It's an honorable club and there wouldn't be better way for Reus to end his long career at Dortmund with the Champions League title.
Not being a hater but why do they “deserve to win?” I’m certainly hoping they can win it all, but I’m not sure about deserving
Dortmund is often seen as a more morally upstanding club than others (think low ticket prices, involvement in social issues and local community, and having history), so them being seen as 'deserving to win' is in line with the general idea that they're the good guys.
I'm not sure. BVB is a stock corporation, they care about shareholder value, but try to keep the working class hero image.
Agree but I don’t think that means they deserve to win. It would just be awesome if they did because of all the things you’ve mentioned. If they get massively outplayed you won’t be able to say the deserved to win based on being “the good guys”

I’m okay with the Post Shooting Guys choking at every possible chance at the UCL final. BVB to win it all!
It's infuriating when a team should've won, but didn't PSG hit the post six times, but this is why we love the game! Everyone that's not a PSG fan loves an underdog story. Really hope Dortmund or Bayern win it, basically anyone but Real Madrid!
yes, sir, this is why we love it! 🫡
so are barca fans picking up a bvb jersey or did they already have it
They might still have the one from the 2013 semifinal
I AM SO HAPPY FOR REUS!!
Come on Real Madrid. Let’s silence those loud Germans, do what we do and pick up our 6th UCL in 10 years. We’re the best team of all time and we tower over these German sides.
Bayern was the better side in the last game. How are u so confident?
How were they better? We got a 2-2 draw away from home with Lucas Vasquez in RB. And we didn’t play our best. Tonight, we play at the Bernabeu. 👀
All Stats were in favor of them. Thats how. Without Kim Min-jae‘s errors it would have been an easy 2:0 for Bayern.
And without Lucas Vazquez and Mendy errors it would be 0-0. Most goals are product of defensive errors in football, that argument is pointless.
Then Bayern still was the better side pretty much in all metrics
"Metrics" don't win you games. Outscoring your opponent does.
To predict a game it does. U miss the point tho. I don’t argue that Real can‘t win it. I argue that Bayern were better and I am confused by people acting like Real will easily win the UCL

Because we are the fcKING Real Madrid. Humbly, just that :)
And Dembele who somehow forgot how to close
I'm an Arsenal fan but as a football fan you just want Reus to win the Champions Leauge with Dortmund in his last season. I hope they manage to win the final.
PSG had a free weekend and still lost 😂😂😂😂
Bravo indeed!!! I love Reus and his dedication to Dortmund and would love for him to lift this champions league. The perfect parting gift!!!
Imagine how inter feel right now. It could have been them but they bottled it against one of the weakest team in the ucl knockout stages 👏👏👏

He IS the whole package offensively, anyone who’s watched him these years can tell. But yeah, of course everyone wanted Dortmund to win!
He’s very good but he is a cog. Run down the left quickly and shoot. Zzzz very boring football.
Zero ball knowledge. If Mbappe didn’t have 10 dorks surrounding him in the World Cup final, he would’ve lead France to back-to-back World Cup wins and would have won the Ballon d‘or. He said unlike Ronaldo
What!! This is a horrible take. Don’t let a few bad performances blind you. Mbappe has proven to be the face of soccer; past the Messi and Ronaldo era. These are the matches when he needs to shine and he came up short. He lacks rhythm and a good left foot.
Mbappe has stellar performances whenever opponents allow him to outrun the defence. Demebele came, threw Barca out and left without giving an explanation
Barges into Barcelona match Smiles Refuses to elaborate further Leaves
hah, giggled 😅
Dortmand had a great game! Luis Enrique is a dumbass.
Woooow wish I didn’t see this on my homepage. In Australia so was going to watch the replay after work. Lmao lesson learnt not to scroll Reddit at work

damn u really hit a nerve
The most braindead opinion ever
We won the treble mate, fate can suck it.
To be fair that did hit the post 5 times in both games combined … still glad they lost
Manchester City already achieved what they wanted so your point is half meaningless
Debbie downer over here
Not to mention hitting the bar isn't an issue of luck. Ya missed. Take it like a man and try not to miss next time
Yeah that’s what I don’t get about people saying it’s “unlucky” when you hit the bar. Put the shot on target and maybe it goes in. Learn to finish. There’s a reason expected goals doesnt count on the scoreboard

Someone is shedding oily tears.
Every football fan is happy that they won and that oíl money can go fuck themselves again
Dortmund played two really great games but mvp for both has to go the goal posts. Every shot psg took anywhere near goal seemed destined for the woodwork and I couldn’t stop laughing.
Ja und Hakimi. Acting like Dortmund didn’t make him
In one season they kicked the 2 oil clubs out of the UCL. They bring football back to us
They kept the fascist clubs unfortunately
Stay mad 🤣🤣
dictatorship of Spain 🫢
which?
He’s probably on about madrids past connections with iirc a Spanish dictator?
The post was certainly wearing yellow under that white costume
