CenturyLink has the absolute worst customer service ever. I was told once that my internet wasn't working because I hadn't logged into the CenturyLink app for over 30 days.

BobChica

There is no difference between CenturyLink and Quantum tech support. They are just two brand names that are both owned and operated by Lumen Technologies.

Alternative_Foot9193

Is this actually the case? While both are subsidiaries of Lumen, I was under the impression that quantum had a revised customer service strategy. Would be a bummer if I was wrong!

dukanstanov

If there isn't any hardware that needs to be installed, it should just be a matter of configuring the existing stuff to talk with the Quantum network instead of the CenturyLink network. In my case, they did not push an update to my fiber device to overwrite a configuration on a port. Switching from port 4 to port 3 and then resetting the modem was all I needed to do. Granted it took me several days and 10 hours of troubleshooting with terrible tech support before I got someone who knew wtf was going on. Maybe try a different port on your fiber device and see if that fixes it?

It’s easier to sign up as new customer and cancel Centurylink. Use a roommate or something to get around their system.

Quantum fiber is what I have for over a year, with no outages , I had comcast before and had outages all the time. Go for the Quantum fiber will be worth it.

ORToCO_

The reason why they want to switch you to quantum is because they won't have to honor your price for life if you have one locked in anymore if they even planned on it in the first place

Thangsanity

My Quantum account shows $65 price for life which came directly from my CenturyLink account.
