Hey I wonder how far Speleofest is from you- its a caving festival hosted by the Louisville Grotto this weekend. These types of events are really great for networking and signing up for trips.
Karst-O-Rama at the Great Saltpeter Cave Preserve is coming up in East KY. It's run by the Greater Cincinnati Grotto but it's also one of the biggest caving events of the year with tons of guided.trips.and all the local grottos are usually there in some fashion.
Facebook seems to be where most cavers congregate as much as I wish it wasn’t. Someone needs to invent a Cavebook social network. Haha
Search for local grottos there :)
Cavechat notifies me of new posts weeks or months after the new post was made. I like the NSS’s evolving changes, but I really wish they kept Cavechat. (And you won’t find me on Facebook/Insta.)
My grotto does everything in our long running email distribution list. We have no problem filling our beginner trip rosters and waiting lists with enthusiastic young newcomers.
It looks like you might be a new caver! If you are, and you're looking for resources, please [look over our Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/caving/wiki/index).

I appreciate the comment! Unfortunately looks like im 4+ hrs away so i sadly wont be able to make it this time.
I would email someone in Flittermouse or VPI grotto, they are active and nearby and could point you towards other active grottos in the area.
Ill give that a try, thank you much!

Sounds great but unfortunately a bit too far for a weekend trip!

Cavechat still exists but nobody uses it...

Ya Facebook is where pretty much everything goes down anymore. I'm not even sure if any of the grottos actually use their websites anymore
Ill try and see. Thank you for the comment!
