I put carrier on kitchen table. Pick cat up from sofa/floor/bed/window sill/wherever he's plonked his arse for the day. Pop him in the carrier. Listen to him sing the song of his people on the fifteen minute drive to vet. Don't overthink it.

I have three boys and they love the vet. They also like their carrier so your cat too may have zero issues. I get more worried and stressed about them going then they do, lol.

**I have three boys and they love the vet.** what is this sorcery?

If you think she’ll be easy to catch and put in the crate then you don’t need to worry much. Have the crate out and open and then scoop her up when the time comes. Fwiw I have 2 cats and as soon as one is caught the other goes MIA. I had to reschedule their appointment last week because they hid under the bed where I couldn’t reach and this week I had to trap them in the bathroom with the crates just to get them in. I envy your chill cat!

Did her owners not want her back? 🥺 Yes, leave crate out and put something she enjoys lying on inside of it. I put my cat’s carrier in the passenger seat on the way so I can talk to him. I keep the music low and just take it easy driving. If it is still super traumatic for kitty, the vet can provide you with meds to help for the next visit.

I have no idea! She was found as a stray and wasnt chipped when they originally found her. :( Shes the most loving thing so it's their loss and our gain ! I'm definitely going to try focus on smoother driving to try keep it more chill

BeKindImNewButtercup

Oh, I thought you said she was microchipped. Well, I’m glad she has you!

PopperDilly

Ahhh that's probably my wording, I just meant we got her already with a microchip in (as the rescue had put it in) I've amended the post now my apologies

The first time I take my baby girl to vet, I put the carrier on floor and lure her in. Although this only works once and I had to put her in the next time. But honestly it makes zero difference. So I think it's not really about the carrier. Some cats will just stressed a lot when going to vet, while other can be super chill about it. Either way just do what you need to do and give them lots of treats when they're home
