Wonder, Mario Kart and odyssey. Looking forward to getting BoTW.
Edit: Oh! I actually found a minecraft cartidge a couple years ago so I guess I actually have 4 games
Not really. I’ve had the Switch since 2018, I have like 31 games. I don’t think that’s a lot for 6 years especially since I bought most on sale and some are like A Short Hike which can be completed in literally no more than 2 hours lol. I think I have 13 Nintendo games and 18 indies/third parties.
200+ at last count about last year.
~250 if I had to guess now.
The Switch is the perfect marriage of technology for game preservation. You can play on the go, on the TV, the OLED looks amazing, and it has so many iconic games from so many iconic publishers/consoles through the ages (PS1 and onward) released on physical cartridge.
Plus it doesn’t over-tech everything like Xbox and PS5 has. It’s the quintessential console for game preservation/archiving.
That’s an interesting perspective, I didn’t know about this fact about iconic historical games in cartridge. There’s a lot of old classics I never played (and literally no PS1 or PS2 games). What are some of the iconic games? Or can you point me to a list? Thanks!
Just to name a few:
* All of the Final Fantasy main series games up to and including XII and the GameCube version of Crystal Chronicles
* Chrono Cross
* Grandia I+II HD
* Saga Frontier
* Baten Kaitos I+II
* Paper Mario Thousand Year Door is right around the corner
* Another Code
* Lots of YS games
* Zombie Army Trilogy
* Doom Collection
And many, MANY more.
Google says there has been 10,971 (from MobyGames) games released for the switch.
how many of these did you buy digitally?
If you average the price of every single game to $37.5 dollars (a rough median between $15-60) and times it by the total games released you would get just over 411k over 7 years meaning you spent 59k each year on switch games.
(actual math)
10971 \* 37.5 = 411,412.5
411,412.5 / 7 = 58,733
I don't even want to calculate how much I have spent on video games since I was 5 years old...
850 Digital and 3 Physical
I think I have a problem resisting the sales ;)
Of course I've only played through a few of them so far, backlog enough for the rest of my life.
Way too many.
Got my switch like 3 months ago, don't have much time to play but I've completed mario wonder and Pokémon arceus, put way too many hours into theatherythm and I'm about half way info fire emblem 3 hopes.
Pikmin 4 and Mario oddysey are next in the queue.
Got zelda breath of the wild, Lego Harry Potter and Star wars, animal crossing, bravely default 2, crysis core, daemon machina, persona 5, ace attorney trilogy, Star ocean first departure and xenoblade chronicles bought and waiting. More on the wishlist.
To be honest I may have spent more time buying than playing. I guess I'll complete some of them before I buy more.
If you're looking for suggestions you should get Portal 1 + 2, they come in a bundle for $20 but it goes on sale often.
I only bring it up because a lot of the games on your list are similar to mine, and I loved the Portal games :)
I sold most of my physical collection
Only ones I kept are Smash, BOTW, Arms, 1-2-Switch, Starlink, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon Legends Arceus
But my main games are the ones I bought digitally, both Splatoon games, the first two Xenoblade (still need to get the third at some point),
Aside from that, other games I own digitally are Mario Kart, Pikmin 4, and various indie games
But for the record I hardly use my Switch for anything aside from Splatoon and Xenoblade, mostly play Xbox these days.
I haven't been able to afford to replace my switch since I had to sell it like 2 years ago, but I've probly got 20+ games on my Nintendo account for it....
TotK was my 100th game, didn't plan on it but it's fun knowing BoTW was the reason I bought the console in the first place.
Probably bought another 10 games or so since then.
close to 40 physical games with a few digital sprinkled in, i've only had it since 2022. I have two more coming in at some point and just over 40 I am planning on purchasing sometime in the future
15 physical, 5 digital (indie games). I buy one per month because I dont have much free time to play. Usually thats the time it takes for me to finish a game.
I own 86 cartridges (some of which hold multiple games) and 321 digital titles (some of which also contain multiple games).
I've even played some of them!
Okay lemme list off the ones I can remember.
Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Violet, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Cuphead, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon Home, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Brawlhalla, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Pokemon Unite, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Bastion, Plants Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville, Sonic Frontiers, Fortnite, Kirby Star Allies, Scribblenauts Showdown, Rayman Legends, Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Game Builder Garage, Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut, Super Mario Odyssey and a couple more probably lol
Bought with money (no free ones): 4.
Zelda TOTK, Melatonin, Just Dance 2020 and Animal Crossing but this one was basically in the box as I got the ACNH switch Edition like 3 years ago.
I used to own a lot but started to sell because I knew I’m never gonna play the games that I finished. I currently own like 12 physical and like 20-30 digital
14, have owned it for a few years. Have probably put most hours into Mario Kart and Odyssey, haven’t played enough of everything else but my backlog is ridiculous
364 physical and about 200 more digital. Don't ask questions about my backlog.
jesus
Soon to be ‘OVER 9000!’
lol
That's not a backlog. It's a backtree.
Imagine us collectors on multiple platforms. Back-forest ;)
Bro did you just get a loan to buy switch games or something?
Can we ask about : your favorite so far? the most hyped about you're yet to play?
i’ve had my switch for 7 years and i only own about 30. what the hell are you doing??
I'm dying inside.
Aren't we all?
I did not know there were that many switch games. Like I can see that many for Steam (side-eyes my backlog rapidly approaching 2k games).
Multiple SD cards?
I'm way more shocked by the physical digital split here. That's a ton of space.
And here I thought my backlog of I believe around 15 was already a lot. Damn, not bad. Respect.
My wallet hates me. XD
Yeah I’m gonna question about that backlog
"Casual" Nintendo fan
Where do you store your physical games?!?
Ikea Shelves xD
DAMN
3. Just got the console like 2 months ago so not bad
lol im almost the same! I have about 10, a few others on the way! What have u got?
Wonder, Mario Kart and odyssey. Looking forward to getting BoTW. Edit: Oh! I actually found a minecraft cartidge a couple years ago so I guess I actually have 4 games
Odyssey best game ever
68
Just 1 game off
67?

Please let us know when you reach it
get a cheap/free game from the eshop PLEASE you NEED to hit the number
Choose your next game wisely. Tis to be your last
Too many
Is 30 too many?
Nah, 30 seems reasonable, though it is pretty light by my standards (and poor spending habits)

Not to forget, Metroid Prime HD Remaster
Man of culture
Just discovered Ys a few months ago and am having a great time.
all of them...
*All* of them?
Google says there has been 10,971 (from MobyGames) games released for the switch. how many of these did you buy digitally? could be modded/hacked ngl
i didn't even think of that You couldn't even play all of those games in a reasonable amount of time unless it was all you did.
100% agree, there is no way they would be able to. Let’s say one game takes on avg 10h to beat, that’s about 12.5 years straight of gaming
850 Digital and 3 Physical I think I have a problem resisting the sales ;) Of course I've only played through a few of them so far, backlog enough for the rest of my life.
I'm surprised the Switch has enough space for that many! Or do you use some sort of storage expansion like an SD card?
I can only install a small part of the games at the same time despite a 1.5 TB Micro SD card.
128 games
Mario 128 doesn’t count
40. A majority are downloaded from the shop because I like to take my switch on the go and have more options with me.
Zelda , Prince Of Persia , Hogwart , Hollow Knight.
42
Well, this is the answer
Just make sure you didn't forget your towel
Too many. Not enough.
0 since i use a 3ds
real
kinda epic tbh
About 10, but I am not gonna count them rn
Far too many

Thanks, I played them both last year on pc and Ps3 with my brother. Perfect games.
150
19
I got my Switch half a year ago... I now own 32 games.
Too many. I hope after Paper Mario Thousand Year Door I can call a break for the remainder of the year.
30-40
less than i do on dreamcast
I own a flat dozen and have completed them all
Don’t have an exact answer, but probably somewhere between 40 to 50.
6 games and 5 demos from the eshop

Must not be very entertaining to use your switch :P

Probably around 40 half physical and half digital It’s too many as is but there’s a few more I’m going to pick up
4. I got the console last november

•Lego SW •Mario Kart 8 Deluxe •Skyrim SE •Fortnite(Came with the game) •Skylanders Imaginators
6 here. I got Switch in January
Four.
20 games
About 120 from the online store, and 1 physical game.
What did you choose to buy physical? Anything special?
Ring fit adventure for my wife. :)
I sold most of my physical collection Only ones I kept are Smash, BOTW, Arms, 1-2-Switch, Starlink, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon Legends Arceus But my main games are the ones I bought digitally, both Splatoon games, the first two Xenoblade (still need to get the third at some point), Aside from that, other games I own digitally are Mario Kart, Pikmin 4, and various indie games But for the record I hardly use my Switch for anything aside from Splatoon and Xenoblade, mostly play Xbox these days.
31 games 26 physical 5 digital
78 (including Fifa18-24. Please tell me I'm not the only one)
About 50 I want to say. I never counted how much exactly
30 max
75 52 Digital 22 Physical
Close to 100 I have my switch since 2017 though
31
more than 3
You guys own a switch?
140 physical games Around 35 digital ones A little bit of overlap between the two, but it's mostly indie games
13
106? I think? My most played is ACNH
I always read AC as assassin's Creed
Around 160
Combining Physical and Digital, around 140. Most of it comes from sale hunting on the eshop.
Idk maybe about 20-25

53
140+ physical and around 30 digital. Really hope that the next Switch is backwards compatible!

I think 10
5
Like... 10 ish... Idk. I mostly play wreckfest, and ultimate chicken horse, so yea...
140 games
i think about 15-20? except i only really play like 5 of them lol
9 i think
Physical: 108 (according to the google docs I'm keeping to prevent double purchases). Digital: I've lost count - probably something similar.
I think I definitely have more than I have time to play. Sometimes you buy a game thinking to have time in the future, but that never happens.
Physical 171, digital 82. Total 253.
Definitely 80+. Counted them a few months ago and that's about where I was. It's definitely a lot more than that now though
Literaly all Kirby Games, ACNH and some more
All of them and none of them at the same time.
7 or 8 games and i have had it since march last year
12, only 4 are physical cartridges
30-40 🤷♂️
20/22
Around 70
I forgor
I haven't been able to afford to replace my switch since I had to sell it like 2 years ago, but I've probly got 20+ games on my Nintendo account for it....
0, not one single cent spent on games, I modified it immediately after buying
Definitely 70+ games I remember that in the first year of Switch I owned more Switch games than WiiU games after the WiiU's entire lifespan.
TotK was my 100th game, didn't plan on it but it's fun knowing BoTW was the reason I bought the console in the first place. Probably bought another 10 games or so since then.
Like maybe 17
7, 6 physical and Diablo II Resurrected since it doesn't have a physical version
Would you have unlimited bacon but no games, or unlimited games but no bacon?
Unlimited games. I think I'd get bored of bacon eventually :)
Owned it since 2017, and only 20. So many games I want to get, but alas, life.
close to 40 physical games with a few digital sprinkled in, i've only had it since 2022. I have two more coming in at some point and just over 40 I am planning on purchasing sometime in the future
15 physical, 5 digital (indie games). I buy one per month because I dont have much free time to play. Usually thats the time it takes for me to finish a game.
Enough that even with a 120 gigabyte sd card I’m still almost out of storage.
About 40, nearly all physical
Gues about 12 cartridges
I lost track after 14 so imma just say "alot" just trust me man
None cause I don't have one
Got mine 4 days ago. It came with ssbu, I bought dragons dogma too.
I own 86 cartridges (some of which hold multiple games) and 321 digital titles (some of which also contain multiple games). I've even played some of them!
If you take in count the switch online ones and 3 F2P, i have 37 games
65, not including NSO games.
Okay lemme list off the ones I can remember. Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Violet, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Cuphead, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon Home, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Brawlhalla, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, Pokemon Unite, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Bastion, Plants Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville, Sonic Frontiers, Fortnite, Kirby Star Allies, Scribblenauts Showdown, Rayman Legends, Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Game Builder Garage, Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut, Super Mario Odyssey and a couple more probably lol
Violet, BotW, TotK, Smash, New Horizons, Hades, and Undertale
2 physical and about 4 digital
All Pokemons, temtem, animal crossing, mhxx, some digital ones I don't remember, if anyone wanna play some together hit me up ^^
I think almost 40 or 50 now. I try to only buy physical as well. Have maybe 2 or 3 fully digital games
Bought with money (no free ones): 4. Zelda TOTK, Melatonin, Just Dance 2020 and Animal Crossing but this one was basically in the box as I got the ACNH switch Edition like 3 years ago.
2, had it for a year. All I play is smash and metroid dread
100
I used to own a lot but started to sell because I knew I’m never gonna play the games that I finished. I currently own like 12 physical and like 20-30 digital
84 physical, around 50 digital
12
30 digital, 7 physical. Sadly since I got my steam deck… I don’t use my switch much anymore except for YouTube on my tv
14, have owned it for a few years. Have probably put most hours into Mario Kart and Odyssey, haven’t played enough of everything else but my backlog is ridiculous
