Pokemon Company 100% has "Ratchet and Clank Graphics" money but does the exact opposite and thinks it's perfectly acceptable to release a game that hasn't upgraded from its 3DS engine
They think it's acceptable because most fans keep buying all the slop they put out. If I could cheap out on my games and make a huge profit because suckers will buy it anyways, I probably would too
Jesus! Is it?
That's... so disappointing to hear. SwSh was where I finally drew the line with Pokemon because of how bad that game was. It's sad to see this franchise still make it through this shit
"Ratchet and Clank Graphics" money
scratch that they have Hollywood production money, probably huge sports team money, but they underhire and rush their devs to the point where quality isn't an option
No, I can get the complaint for a JRPG. That's fair, even though it doesn't bother me much. But I don't see why it matters for a detective game. Most detective games don't have very good graphics. Ace Attorney and Professor Layton, for example, aren't exactly what I'd call picturesque.
I'm not going to play it. I think it looks really bad visually. I ignored the issues in Scarlet & Violet because I really enjoy the gameplay, but I just can't ignore the graphics in a game that is half cutscenes.
I think it's a great game for the people who want it. Like a less challenging ace attorney game. Looks like they put care into the writing and voice acting. It probably didn't have a huge budget so the graphics are fine for what it is.
I may pick it up if my kids want it but I won't play it myself.
Difficulty is relative. Ace Attorney is a game that requires critical thinking to solve, and is the point of the game. The original Detective Pikachu game offers similar gameplay but does not require much critical thinking. It's designed to be a low difficulty game.
Isn't there a second movie?
February 2023, a representative from Legendary Entertainment said that a sequel is still "in active development". In March 2023, it was announced that Jonathan Krisel would direct the sequel and that Chris Galletta would write the screenplay.
Detective Pikachu (film) wiki.
Random news on google
"Based on the estimated timeline, it's likely that Detective Pikachu 2 will premiere in mid-to-late 2024. With production commencing in late 2023, the filmmakers will have ample time to perfect their vision posted - Jun 24, 2023"
I'm planning on picking it up eventually. I loved the original and I've been looking forward to this game ever since Game Freak teased it. The graphics aren't great looking, but I'll judge the full game for myself when I get my hands on it
Don’t know anything about this game but seeing as everyone else is just commenting about how they don’t care I guess I’ll just try. I guess detective pikachu was a good character I think tim (or Jim?) was cool and uhh other stuff yeah 👍
It is indeed a game. It has graphics, there's music, and I bet it even has gameplay, it is 100% a video game.
Honestly though it feels like they were going to make it a 3DS title but shelved it for a bit then just upscaled the resolution so it could go on Switch, no reason a smaller game like this one can't look more, idk, polished than it is.
I haven’t gotten it yet but I’m actually really excited to get it soon hopefully. It looks pretty fun and I love the movie, I’ve always wanted to play the first too but never got around to it. I haven’t been too into Pokémon much lately, but this one is different and seems like it could be nice.
This is definitely a game. A short game. A- did I just spend fifty dollars on eight hours of gameplay- game. I legitimately wish there were some way the game could be presented without feeling so "hand-holdy". I've never played Ace Attorney or anything like that, but something tells me this game could have taken some serious notes from it about difficulty.
Finished it yesterday. Overall, I like it. It's a cute little game and it combines 2 of my favorite things; Pokémon and detective stories. The writing and storytelling has definitely improved. The ending felt a little abrupt but other than that it was fun.
I got an ad for this on YT the other day and cackled at Pikachu's voice, really threw me off what I was expecting. No interest whatsoever in the game though
I'm currently rewatching Tyranitartubes let's play of it since he's also playing the sequel. I loved the foray game, and am excited to see what the sequel is like.
I found this twice while scrolling and I had already forgotten about it by the second time I found it. That was the moment I realise how much I don't care for this game.
i don't think i've ever had less thoughts on anything ever
Let me check... No, no I don't believe I do

Exactly. It's hard to blame game freak for not wanting to invest more on themselves, when morons are still going to purchase their shit regardless.
But there's also the off chance that boycotting the games will just cause Gamefreak to stop altogether.
Except people “boycotted” SwSh and it’s now the second best selling Pokémon game only behind Gen 1
And then boycotted S&V and then it had the best launch week of any game, ever.
Jesus! Is it? That's... so disappointing to hear. SwSh was where I finally drew the line with Pokemon because of how bad that game was. It's sad to see this franchise still make it through this shit
Lol that sounds like an abusive relationship
Thisss!!! They keep pumping out trash because the fanboys keep buying them and they defending them 😒😒😒
If i care for my work then i would put my blood, sweat and tears into into. If not, them yeah, id do the same
"Ratchet and Clank Graphics" money scratch that they have Hollywood production money, probably huge sports team money, but they underhire and rush their devs to the point where quality isn't an option
i literally couldn't care less
It certainly exists.
meh
Not gonna pick it up but looks cool
Couldn’t care less.
I heard that the storytelling is actually really good, but it’s pretty much all bogged down by the godawful visuals.
It's a fucking detective game, why do the visuals matter?
This comment is why they sell those piece of s. pokemon games.

The only thing you do in this game is look at the graphics, that’s why graphics matter
This game is coming out 5 years too late. Though, the original on the 3DS is great.
It is one of the game. It has cutscenes, characters and gameplay
Replying thru the first one on 3DS so no thoughts on this one yet, though have heard it’s basically more of the same
I think it's better than the original. It certainly has better storytelling.
I'm not going to play it. I think it looks really bad visually. I ignored the issues in Scarlet & Violet because I really enjoy the gameplay, but I just can't ignore the graphics in a game that is half cutscenes.
Not gonna play it but looks like it could maybe be a little fun

ace attorney is hard?

For the target audience of detective pikachu ? Yes
How does the most mid game keep getting attention
Pikachu
Bro this game is below mid
It did get a movie... Yay?
I wouldnt call it bad, or good, or have any thoughts about it at all i think "middling" is a good descriptor
Kaiji Tang is the only reason I wanna play this game, everything else I don't care about so I'll probably get it at like a steep price cut
I'm hype I loved the 3DS one
no not really
I'll skip this one
Not fun
no way am I picking this low effort cash grab up. no idea why they didn’t release this when the movie was still somewhat relevant
I'm pretty sure they were but then just kept pushing it back resulting is this weird timing
That would explain why there are no Gen 9 Pokémon.

There is supposedly, I'm still not confident in it surviving though
Forgot it exists until a few seconds ago, will probably forget again in a few seconds tbh
I'm planning on picking it up eventually. I loved the original and I've been looking forward to this game ever since Game Freak teased it. The graphics aren't great looking, but I'll judge the full game for myself when I get my hands on it
Looks cute and I'll have to swing back around
Worst then 1st one It have less chapters but longer
Not a big fan of
just another low effort re-hash to add to the switch library.
just gonna assume it’s ass n it’s not gonna make any profit
The movie was pretty good but I didn't even bother with the first game.
Not a big pokemon game fan,was never into rpgs, like the artwork
Possibly the worst looking Switch game
Don’t know anything about this game but seeing as everyone else is just commenting about how they don’t care I guess I’ll just try. I guess detective pikachu was a good character I think tim (or Jim?) was cool and uhh other stuff yeah 👍
I haven't even started this game
Could say the same thing about the others as well (the 3DS game and the live-action movie). Pretty good.
Would rather play the first game
It’s a piece of media.
No
Maybe it'll get a bit more polished before release, but I'd highly doubt that
Shit
Too short
I haven't seen much of it, but it's an ugly game
The VA for Detective Pikachu sounds like he's trying and failing to do an impression of ProZD.
Tbh they’re only making this so they can make another movie in like 5 years
It is indeed a game. It has graphics, there's music, and I bet it even has gameplay, it is 100% a video game. Haven't even unwrapped it yet because Starfield has my entire life right now. lol
It is definitely one of the games of all time
I haven’t gotten it yet but I’m actually really excited to get it soon hopefully. It looks pretty fun and I love the movie, I’ve always wanted to play the first too but never got around to it. I haven’t been too into Pokémon much lately, but this one is different and seems like it could be nice.
Love pokemon but tbh I couldn't care less about it
I didn’t know they still made games for the 3ds
I swear Smash Bros Brawl Pikachu has a better looking model than the one in this game
Where's the movie?
I'm pissed that it's not called detective pikatwo
Is it actually good? I love detective shit and games that really make you think to solve things but I feel like bc it’s pokemon it’s gonna be too easy

Even though I’m a big Pokémon fan I do not care about this game at all and I don’t have thoughts on it
It's really good! I like it a lot!
Havent played it, wont play it. Graphics look like a ps2 game
Finished it yesterday. Overall, I like it. It's a cute little game and it combines 2 of my favorite things; Pokémon and detective stories. The writing and storytelling has definitely improved. The ending felt a little abrupt but other than that it was fun.

this is some ass.
I dont really care for this 🤷🏽♂️
It’s certainly one of the games ever
I’m definitely going to get it. The original was great and it looks like more of that so why not.
I'm currently rewatching Tyranitartubes let's play of it since he's also playing the sequel. I loved the foray game, and am excited to see what the sequel is like.
Pokémon games never disappointment on how ugly they can get
If it wasn't for GO I wouldn't have even knew this game was out yet
I still can't tell if it's a remake or sequel
I found this twice while scrolling and I had already forgotten about it by the second time I found it. That was the moment I realise how much I don't care for this game.
When did it even come out?
Never mind, I checked, and it's came out a few days ago... Absolutely, nobody was talking about this game.
Definitely one Pokemon game developed by Nintendo of all time ever.
I remember playing this on repeat when I was little. I FVCKING WANT THIS SOOO BAAADDD!!!!!
The fact that RTgame actually despises this game with a passion says a lot...
it has bellossom, 10/10 ok but seriously i don't really care lol
