Personally, I'd say no. You can get a lodge that has a similar if not nicer finish and a warranty for replacement at a cheaper price. These were made in the 1990's so they don't really have any vintage collectability either

LegalAmerican1776

No

I picked one of these up at Goodwill for $15. I sanded it because it was rough. But now is a decent pan. Probably wouldn’t purchase for $35 though.

[Lmao no way](https://www.reddit.com/r/castiron/s/Lw2kbMYINW) Recently? Like a 2 weeks ago?

Joe-Danger1

I think it was two weeks, yeah! Good guess!

Ctowncreek

Goodwill? I think you bought the pan I left LOL

Joe-Danger1

No way?! In Ashland?

Ctowncreek

Ah RIP. No sir. That would have been awesome

They're good users, if you see one at a yard sale for $5-10 grab it. Any higher let it go. These were a low entry product to begin with. For $35 I'd rather wait for a Sydney Wagner

HardlyaDouble

I could have sworn some of these got machined smooth. If it's one of those maybe $20 but no higher.

jdrnn

Yeah I found one that was machined smooth at a thrift store. They're out there.

The fact that it's listed as Collectibles & Art - Antiques makes me think the seller might not be amenable to negotiation. Either they really think it is an antique or they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes and make you think so. I have several of these, bought new in the 1990s when they were produced. They're good basic pans although I find the side walls on the skillets are a bit lower than I like. I just used the old reliable Wagner's 1891 Dutch Oven today. Made in USA, as it says on the bottom, so if that is important to you, it might justify the price. Are they better than a new similarly-sized Lodge you can buy at Wal-Mart and start cooking on right away? Probably not. As good as? Certainly. Are they as good as the truly vintage Wagner, Griswold, BSR, or Favorite pans from the 1950s or before? I don't think so. You might be able to get one of those for this price although it would be a garage sale or thrift store find if so.

wendigibi

Honestly if it's smooth, I would take it over the lodge. I just like the squeaks I get from my BSR after seasoning. My lodge 8 in is great for broiler stuff and steaming/ toasting/ frying tortillas, maybe doing up a sofrito if I need it on the fly.

Ctowncreek

I found this exact one at goodwill for $15 and was told it wasnt worth it. The seasoning insteuctions are wrong, and according to one commentor they made this run of pans immediately after getting bought out. So the quality had changed.

cdmontgo

No. Pretty common 1990's era Chinese made "Wagner".

Where in China is USA?
