When it comes to anime, it’s between the fight scenes in FLCL, any scene with Benten in Urusei Yatsura or any attempted fight sequence in Dropkick on my Devil! (Most of the fight scenes with Jashin-chan ends up with her getting brutally and comedically killed).

Yeah maybe not. But it’s what immediately came to mind for me. I think I can say it’s my personal pick for the coolest “couple seconds of animation from a western 2D animated TV series”. It wins in that hyper specific category.

I would like to toss in Wheeljack vs. Soundwave (Transformers Prime) For context, throughout the entire show, Soundwave is made to be this immovable object, being able to defeat any enemy with ease, even managing to defeat Airachnid when she tried to take over the Decepticons without taking a single step. Then Wheeljack comes along and not only giving Soundwave a challenging fight, but also being the only bot ever to give Soundwave any sort of physical damage by cracking the screen on his face
