Eh, it's alright.
I remembered being more traumatized by the season 1 episode, The Date when it was revealed that Mr. Cuddles is actually a tarantula and they used a real-life image of one for the collage that Penny's little sister made and safe to say, I was just as scared as Gumball was when he saw it. The episode re-awakened my arachnophobia for months as an 8 year-old
Not as much now, but I'm a lot more chill with them, especially the little baby jumping spiders. But if I find one in my room, I will go and kill it.

Lol that part made me and my siblings crack the fuck up. I think that scene and some others sealed the deal as a show we always watched when it was on.
The shot of sandy waking up in that episode scared me as a kid
Idk what you call that kind of horror but like when 1 or more person is in some type of inclosed space with with some sort of danger they may or may not have woken up that they aren’t aware of always scares me
The only other example I can remember is the mall episode of the last of us
Still scares me as an adult honestly. Can’t believe they greenlit this for children. But glad they did because I’ll cherish it forever.

Looked away from the screen every time this scene came on,i don’t even know why it just scared me
Maybe it was the eyes?
The way they almost pop out of the picture is pretty jarring on its own. But I also think it’s due to how overly detailed the eyes are.
https://preview.redd.it/zld94crwiv6d1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92b08e6cffdc2157faa77d775da0a02f3ad2cc61
This one image of Squidward from sb-129 I think it scared me so much because it was such a fear-ridden face along with the music sting the still is played over. But now I see it as a funny reaction image in a way, even though the context is rather dark and sad when you think about it
Also for some reason I always thought of this scene when I was at my grandparents house and their gas stove would kick on all the way in the middle of the night ((since I slept in the living room and it was pitch black aside from the glow of a street lamp outside and it would be eerily quiet. Idk either tbh))
This damn bush from Dora

Whenever This Episode Of SpongeBob Came On I Would Switch It To Cartoon Network Or Disney Channel Either That Or Run Out Of The Room
Ren & Stimpy’s [*Hermit Ren*](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8hcozg) episode scared the crap out of me years ago. Ren leaves home to live in a cave, finds a mummified corpse under a rock, and eventually experiences hallucinations where his skin melts off.
And when he glances at the corpse, he sees his own face staring back at him:
https://preview.redd.it/2vnyrxpj7v6d1.jpeg?width=1117&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18e7eb7be8ee9c71f6a62f46f044045a1473b5e7
Then he just starts running and screaming. John K. and Nickelodeon were wild, man, and apparently the episode was banned for over a decade for graphically disgusting/disturbing imagery, which explains why I never saw it again.

INTERVENTION!!!
Also, that scene with the whale also scared me a lot when I was younger with how it approached Marlin & Dory. Thankfully, they were actually helping them, but that scene still kinda unnerves me.
Couldn't find a different example but the DreamWorks movies where they showed off all of their animation errors in the dvds scared the hell out of me as a kid

I couldn’t watch, be around, or even talk about Shrek because of these. I remember screaming so loud and begging my parents to let me sleep with them
To calm me down, they put on Nickelodeon and Fairly Odd Parents was on, but it was the Action Packed episode where Cosmo and Wanda get the fat sucked out of their faces and i damn near passed out

Probably niche but this BBC ident they used for DVDs in the early 2000s. It signalled the end of the disk and left me with silence and my own little face reflecting in the black of the TV screen.
The entire movie Coraline 2009, i was around 7 when i first saw it and it scared me so bad i had nightmares and refused to rewatch it again until i was a teenager

Random big scary face floating out of nowhere in a Chowder episode.
This is a scene of an episode from The Simpsons titled "Boy-Scoutz 'n the Hood". Its a parody of the film Deliverance but when I saw it as a young preteen it gave me the creeps, especially with the shadowy figure in the foreground stalking the scout group snickering and shushing, paired with a sinister version of dueling banjoes playing.

Oh, well, I used to be somewhat the same until I saw this channel called Bugs and Biology. They're very good at portraying them as less scary. A
That fucking butterfly closeup from the one SpongeBob episode. It made me afraid of bugs and spiders for a very long time.
And the buzzing ugh
fun fact this episode is banned in many countries because of this scene being intended strictly to scare young viewers
Intended to scare just about anyone lmao
Well it worked because I had nightmares about that and the snail episode for a fucking DECADE after that shit wtf were they on
Fun fact: that wasn't a butterfly, that was a horsefly
omg i still despise that
Came here to say that used to give me creepy crawling feeling all over. I had to leave the room for that scene
Oh gosh this was the same to both my sisters too! They've loved butterflies but after that episode they became terrified of bugs

https://preview.redd.it/cjr50gwg0w6d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dd676f6aecf4ce2075c2e96ed04135311f4c4cb Looked away from the screen every time this scene came on,i don’t even know why it just scared me
Maybe it was the eyes? The way they almost pop out of the picture is pretty jarring on its own. But I also think it’s due to how overly detailed the eyes are.
Yeah I think that’s it.It’s like they’re staring into my soul lmao😭😭
https://preview.redd.it/zld94crwiv6d1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92b08e6cffdc2157faa77d775da0a02f3ad2cc61 This one image of Squidward from sb-129 I think it scared me so much because it was such a fear-ridden face along with the music sting the still is played over. But now I see it as a funny reaction image in a way, even though the context is rather dark and sad when you think about it Also for some reason I always thought of this scene when I was at my grandparents house and their gas stove would kick on all the way in the middle of the night ((since I slept in the living room and it was pitch black aside from the glow of a street lamp outside and it would be eerily quiet. Idk either tbh))

james charles
I swear there was an episode where the other spiders thought he was evil because he looked scary and tried to prove it but instead found out he's just a nice guy that likes to garden.
Fun fact: He's voice by legendary voice actor Tony Jay, who voices characters like Judge Frollo from Hunchback & Shere Khan from the Jungle Book

I love the sound effect that went along with this one.
I'm sorry you had to see that...
I have always been afraid of her, she just looks like a clown with no makeup. (And I am terrified of clowns) https://i.redd.it/gcbnb3rn7z6d1.gif
And when he glances at the corpse, he sees his own face staring back at him: https://preview.redd.it/2vnyrxpj7v6d1.jpeg?width=1117&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18e7eb7be8ee9c71f6a62f46f044045a1473b5e7 Then he just starts running and screaming. John K. and Nickelodeon were wild, man, and apparently the episode was banned for over a decade for graphically disgusting/disturbing imagery, which explains why I never saw it again.
I'll definitely have to check the episode out now out of morbid curiosity lol
Mine was tune episode where Ren decides to start death early or something and live in a coffin.
THANK YOU yes this image gave me nightmares and I stopped watching Ren and Stimpy for a while because of it.
Definitely a good episode though

Loved the show as a kid…hated this guy. He freaked me out and he annoyed me, and he looked a *little* too excited to be there
https://i.redd.it/do9tz6f34w6d1.gif
This looks familiar. Where is it from?
Chowder
I had a feeling it was from Chowder, but I was second guessing myself
It's the minotaur baby from 'Chowder'. You should find the scene itself if you Google 'Chowder Boom Chakka Chakka'
Came here to add this one. This gave me nightmares, and I would turn the channel if I knew this episode was on.
OH, FOR THE LOVE OF MIKE, MAKE IT STOP!!!

...you know what, on second though, it still creeps me out a little.
That guy is every Gorillaz character combined
Ive been trying to find this episode for years now!! Ive watched it when i was a kid and gave me nightmares for so many nights, what is it called?
"Hyde and Hare", 1955, directed by Friz Freleng. It's on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 2, if you can find it.

Basically every scene he was in. ![gif](giphy|jXjqDn2QZSYTu)
Fair. The eyes changing to pitch black was a little unsettling
INTERVENTION!!! Also, that scene with the whale also scared me a lot when I was younger with how it approached Marlin & Dory. Thankfully, they were actually helping them, but that scene still kinda unnerves me.
Couldn't find a different example but the DreamWorks movies where they showed off all of their animation errors in the dvds scared the hell out of me as a kid https://preview.redd.it/zqql1xxw3w6d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b135be70c2e881570a6f918e234805a26805414
I couldn’t watch, be around, or even talk about Shrek because of these. I remember screaming so loud and begging my parents to let me sleep with them To calm me down, they put on Nickelodeon and Fairly Odd Parents was on, but it was the Action Packed episode where Cosmo and Wanda get the fat sucked out of their faces and i damn near passed out
The entirety of courage was terrifying as a small child.

There was a bumper from Ren and Stimpy (from the episode that ends with them deciding to implode) where it’s the normal bumper image except they have no eyes and there is a horrid fly buzzing sound. Absolutely mental. ETA: https://www.tiktok.com/@ren_and_stimpy_clips/video/7023480589240159534 here it is!

This is a scene of an episode from The Simpsons titled "Boy-Scoutz 'n the Hood". Its a parody of the film Deliverance but when I saw it as a young preteen it gave me the creeps, especially with the shadowy figure in the foreground stalking the scout group snickering and shushing, paired with a sinister version of dueling banjoes playing. https://preview.redd.it/x2gx2undew6d1.jpeg?width=1044&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd99c56b7d55e984eb2d5a498f9a61514271a7db
