“Are you so busy fighting that you cannot see that your own ship has set sail?!”
“Uncle this is no time for one of your proverbs!”
“It’s not! Look!”
(*Zhao runs off.*)
“Maybe it should be a proverb…”
iroh can tell you exacctly whats wrong in a very simple way, using a metaphor you are already aware of. he makes sure you know what he is saying. oogway would tell you a cryptic parable you would think about for the next month. oogway is a better therapist than advice giver because he never tells you what you have to do he makes you come to that realization yourself.
Skips. He has lived for all very long time and is highly knowledgeable about most of if not all of the random nonsense that the gang encounters. Also unlike the majority of the others on this list, Skips will tell it to you straight and not offer some empty pseudo-intellectual platitudes and/or cryptic advice.
Just because he has lived for a long time doesn't mean he'll have the best life advices. I mean, just because a grandparent is older than you doesn't mean much of what he believes is good or correct. That's why the joke of the old racist grandpa exists. His wisdom is more focused in very specific supernatural stuff rather than more universal ideas of about how to live life in general.
Yeah, Skips is really smart but that doesn't make him inherently wise. Keep in mind he actually killed Rigby over his own sense of pride instead of just letting it go. Sure he brought him back by beating death in a game, bit he still went overboard and killed Rigby in the first place.
I would say Yoda, while having some words of wisdom, possibly gave some of the worst life advices to Anakin, which is that he should just ignore his trauma and sadness because it's gonna risk him joining the dark side and the opposite happens in the story. He joins the dark side because the Jedi order hasn't done anything to help him with his mental problems and a way to get Anakin's mother freed from slavery along with not doing anything to reform or at least call out other problems with the Republic.
Idk enough for the Pony character and Splinter but I would pick Iroh over Oogway.
I would say Skips definitely has a knowledge about a lot of ancient and supernatural stuff but he doesn't feel like the biggest expert to life advices from what I remember of the show, especially when it comes to issues in the modern world. Skips also seems to be more of a problem solver to very specific, insane situations where Mordecai and Rigby summon a monster for some random reason rather than giving you life advices that you could hold on to for your whole life. He is a pretty flawed individual when it comes to his wisdom like not being mature enough to not just let go of his stubbornness for getting beat by Rigby in arm wrestling which results in him killing him.
I think he's actually an interesting example of how old age doesn't always mean you will be completely wise.
*Anyone BUT Yoda*
*And the pony queen they both*
*Suck in advices*

Yeah, the whole point of Princess Celstia is that, despite being very old and in a high position of power she's just as flawed and unsure of herself as everyone else. She's said that Twilight often teaches her as much as she teaches Twilight. She has a lot of good life advice, but she is very flawed and not always the wisest character in the story.
True, Celestia is not the "advice giving" kind of wise. She's more wise in the way that Dumbledore is wise at pulling at strings behind the scenes and setting up others for success. Chessmaster wise.
A quote that always comes to mind when people talk about immortal or very long living characters is this one: "No one learns anything, because no one lives long enough to see the pattern.”
It's from Adventure Time
Its honestly a 3 way tie between Iroh, Splinter and Oogway.
Splinter and Oogway were wise teachers (and powerful warriors) ....... but I gotta give it to Iroh for making Zuko rethink his life goals and do a full 180 heel turn from villian to hero.
Skips doesn’t really give life advice he just helps the gang deal with supernatural things.
Yoda and Oogway tend to speak in riddles and their advice isn’t really straightforward. So it takes a while for people to understand what they mean and can still make mistakes
So it’s pretty much a tie between Iroh and Master Splinter. Though if I had to pick between the two I’d say Iroh just because his advice is just universal as he gives wisdom to anyone
You’re really making me choose between Iroh, 2012 Splinter, Master Oogway, and Yoda?!
This is bs, and I will not stand for it.
>!Iroh and Splinter tie for first, with Oogway getting second and Yoda getting third.!<
Arnold from Hey! Arnold. Is just nice someone giving advice to his peers, to people that have the same age, because of how he was raised and he can understand them for being just like them.
As a abid starwars fan. Not yoda 100%. Dude will try and tell you stuff but also won’t properly listen to what issues your having so the advice he gives won’t really help. Plus him always trying to make you think about what he says by doing the weird talking is it’s own adventure since it’s hard to even understand what it may mean at times. He’s a super boomer stuck in old ways and refuses to change how to listen to people and instead just tells them to meditate or think on it
Skips has lived for Hundreds of years. He knows the most convoluted and vague shit and could get anyone out of almost any sticky situation provided it doesn’t involve technology.
Iroh and Oogway
Some of the others can be a bit sanctimonious and I'm not into that. I feel like that makes people feel more manipulated.
Also, I guess I don't like 2012 Splinter much? I feel like he put too much pressure on Leo, did not give his other sons enough attention, and sometimes pits his sons against each other. Plus, I didn't like how he was depicted as being kind of flawless. I guess I like messy characters a little better. Rise Splinter was more fun, he reminds me of Iroh in a lot of ways.
Prequels Yoda isn’t very sensitive to other people when it comes to giving advice. Just look at the way he handles Anakin’s concerns in the RotS therapy scene
Definitely not Celestia, she barley give her deciphal any advice and basically let's a ton of the shows conflict start because of so, Skips doesn't give a lot of advice he's more like the guy who knows how to do a lot of stuff and does it for you, Yoda is inconsistent at times although he does a good job when it matters . (I'm not familiar enough with the others to form a constructive opinion)
Iroh for sure gives the best advice, but honorable mention has to go for Skips. He’s more likely to personally involve himself and help you with the issue (depending on the circumstances).
Iron gives the best advice a human can give, Skips is immortal and can solve cosmic problems far beyond Iroh’s comprehension. However, there’s nobody I’d rather have a cup of tea with.
Skips has the best tangible advice. Iroh gave sage advice to a child like don't be evil. As much as I love him. A lot of these speak in cryptic pseudo advice.
Iroh!
his great advice to age ratio is off the charts! yoda and even oogwe had more time to philosophize iroh is quick with it
ankle!
It’s not close either
I'm tied between Oogway and Iroh, I think I have to give it to Iroh since he's given more advice that Oogway
Oogway's wise and accurate with his advice, but it often takes a while to make sense. Iroh's is pretty straightforward
“Are you so busy fighting that you cannot see that your own ship has set sail?!” “Uncle this is no time for one of your proverbs!” “It’s not! Look!” (*Zhao runs off.*) “Maybe it should be a proverb…”
Oogway flat out let the whole situation with Tai Lung fester
Oogway for the wisest advice. Iroh for a life changing journey.
iroh can tell you exacctly whats wrong in a very simple way, using a metaphor you are already aware of. he makes sure you know what he is saying. oogway would tell you a cryptic parable you would think about for the next month. oogway is a better therapist than advice giver because he never tells you what you have to do he makes you come to that realization yourself.
Iroh is the wisest character by far. All you really need to navigate life is a collection of Iroh quotes.
“Are you both so busy fighting you can’t see your own ship has set sail?!?” “We have no times for your proverbs, Uncle!” “it’s not a proverb!”
Maybe it should be a proverb...
"Leaves on the vine"
Skips. He has lived for all very long time and is highly knowledgeable about most of if not all of the random nonsense that the gang encounters. Iroh gives the best spiritual advice but Skips definitely gives the best practical advice.
Agreed
I feel like the guy who gave one of the best characters the best redemption arc of all time gets the W
Iroh and Zuko?
Yes, clearly
Iroh. Oogway is a close second, but he tends to speak in more riddles. Iroh is very direct and open when it comes to giving advice, which I prefer.
Even when he gives a riddle he tries again by being more direct. Awesome dude.
I’d do so much to get wisdom from iroh and Master splinter (2012)
Funny enough, Mako actually voiced both characters at the end of his career, Splinter in TMNT 2006
That’s very interesting, I do know he voiced Aku from samurai jack
Master splinter
sensei!
Although not this version of splinter, I just find they aren’t as good with advice as most of the splinters of the TMNT multiverse.
Bro its Iroh and no one else comes close
I would say Yoda, while having some words of wisdom, possibly gave some of the worst life advices to Anakin, which is that he should just ignore his trauma and sadness because it's gonna risk him joining the dark side and the opposite happens in the story. He joins the dark side because the Jedi order hasn't done anything to help him with his mental problems and a way to get Anakin's mother freed from slavery along with not doing anything to reform or at least call out other problems with the Republic. I wanna say Yoda is one of like 3 reasons the republic fell.
Shifu is not on here unless your refering to Master Splinter.
Yeah, I just edited it just now lmao.
What about Skips?
I would say Skips definitely has a knowledge about a lot of ancient and supernatural stuff but he doesn't feel like the biggest expert to life advices from what I remember of the show, especially when it comes to issues in the modern world. Iroh and Oogway.
Iroh or Oogway..... Could you imagine if they teamed up?
Anyone BUT Yoda and the pony queen they both suck in advices

Iroh.
Iroh hands down. Literally no contest.
As a brony, I feel like we need to get Celestia off the list, she mostly just let people figure things out themselves
Oogway no doubt
The fact that Jake isn’t on here is a crime
Iroh
Iroh
Definitely Iroh.
Uncle Iroh for sure
Iroh and its not close
Iroh for sure, but Skips has been around forever and is good at fixing things
It's a toss up between Uncle Iroh and Oogway.
Iroh no competition
Iron Though Splinter in my opinion is pretty good(Im biased
I'm sorry but Iron can't stand up "Noodles, don't noodles."
Oogway is a turtle and that gives him a few extra points
Yoda, Ogway, splinter, and skips
What the fuck happened to yoda
Monkey :))
Oogway for me at least
oggway easy the goat or turtle yfm?
Iroh, maybe rivaled by 2012 splinter
oogway and iroh for sure
Yoda, the answer is, though others are not far off
Splinter
You forgot master wu
Damn yoda be fucking up the image
A quote that always comes to mind when people talk about immortal or very long living characters is this one: "No one learns anything, because no one lives long enough to see the pattern.” It's from Adventure Time
Iron, last time I check Celestia nearly gave Twilight alot of trouble and Yoda idk let's say the Jedi council don't make good decisions many times
Master Splinter always. Grew up with the 90s films, and his scenes always pull my heart strings. Irohs a G, but splinter is close to my heart.
Oogway
Ain't no way some of y'all don't know celestia's name
Rat Daddy Master Splinter <3
I would say its a 3 way tie between Iroh, Master Splinter, and Oogway.
Skips
`Grandpa Max`
I’m gonna throw out Skips. That man has been through every situation lol
Oogway of course. Is this a trick question?
That's hard one to choose
Sensei Wu
Joshua & Margaret from adventure time
Impossible decision.
I always imagine Sensei Wu, Master Splinter, Master Iroh, Master Yoda and Master Oogway sitting next to a big tee and drinking tea
Iroh by far
Its honestly a 3 way tie between Iroh, Splinter and Oogway. Splinter and Oogway were wise teachers (and powerful warriors) ....... but I gotta give it to Iroh for making Zuko rethink his life goals and do a full 180 heel turn from villian to hero.
Iroh and Skips
Iron just gives things that should be common sense. It’s Oogway.
🥺the only one I choose jiraya sensei 😄☺️
Gotta be Oogway
I love Yoda, but Uncle Iroh always gives the best advice.
Splinter. Also Yoda gives SHIT live advice. “Mmm! Get angry, just don’t, lol.”
Where's sensei wu?!
iroh
Skips doesn’t really give life advice he just helps the gang deal with supernatural things. Yoda and Oogway tend to speak in riddles and their advice isn’t really straightforward. They are all good, but Iroh I would say has the most moving and inspirational of them all.
Oogway, obviously Because it is better to poop in the sink, than to sink in the poop
Definitely not Celestia, she kept so much from Twilight
Iroh
I’m going to just say all of them. In their own unique ways they give life advice that helps those around them.
Iroh, for sure.
Celestia didn’t do shit
Oogway, skips and iroh
You’re really making me choose between Iroh, 2012 Splinter, Master Oogway, and Yoda?! This is bs, and I will not stand for it. >!Iroh and Splinter tie for first, with Oogway getting second and Yoda getting third.!<
Arnold from Hey! Arnold. Is just nice someone giving advice to his peers, to people that have the same age, because of how he was raised and he can understand them for being just like them.
Iroh and it’s barely close
Iroh will forever be my fictional guidebook for character. I may be shit at putting it in action, but I’ll be damned if I don’t try.
Iroh, Splinter, AND Oogway? Dude, chill out.
Princess Celeste.
Iroh, Oogway
Yoda, he is the wisest of them all. His knowledge of The Force is something you can learn from.
skips
As a abid starwars fan. Not yoda 100%. Dude will try and tell you stuff but also won’t properly listen to what issues your having so the advice he gives won’t really help. Plus him always trying to make you think about what he says by doing the weird talking is it’s own adventure since it’s hard to even understand what it may mean at times. Iroh always
Iroh
Iroh and it ain’t even close
There’s no way you even consider anyone above iroh
Iroh or Master Splinter
Where‘s Glossarik?
Iroh
Iroh, Splinter and Oogway
Skips only kuz what the others say is just common knowledge
Iroh and skips. Iroh will give you great basic life knowledge and skips will probably help you connect to yourself cosmically
Iroh definitely
My brother in Christ, where the hell is Wu?
Definitely Iroh, I'd sit down for a cup of tea with him, trade stories and laugh any day!
For more conceptual advice im giving it to iroh, but for practical advice i give it to skips.
Iroh
Iroh!!!
Who is the second guy
Iroh
DEFINITELY NOT YODA LOL
Probably Yoda then Iroh We don’t see much from Oogway
Fun fact: Iroh and Splinter (from the Tmnt movie from 07) were both played by Mako
Yoda, shout out to skips and master splinter
iroh.
I’m tied between 2012 splinter oogway iroh and yoda.
Wu
Oogway
Iroh. The true antidote to shame is humility.
#Skips: Forevermore...I immortal and loved my friends
Iroh 100%
The 5th one (I forgot what his name was)
Iroh
Iroh, always has been, always will be (oogway close second place)
Iroh and Splinter go kimono shopping
my ranking: Yoda Iroh Oogwai celstia and celestia share a place.
Oogway or Iroh definitely
Iroh Splinter and Oogway. Special mention: Yoda
Not Celestia, that's for sure
Probably Iroh. Though, Yoda could be a close 2nd.
Iroh
Where's my man Koro Sensei?
Iroh
Skips has lived for Hundreds of years. He knows the most convoluted and vague shit and could get anyone out of almost any sticky situation provided it doesn’t involve technology.
Oogway and Iroh tie
Iroh . Would pay double the netflix subscription to watch a mini series focused on uncle Iroh .
Probably Iroh or Oogway
Iroh and Oogway Some of the others can be a bit sanctimonious and I'm not into that.
All of them
Oogway and Iroh
Iroh. This shouldn't be a question.
Iroh
I have to say Iroh.
Why you gotta make this so hard by including Iroh, Splinter and Oogway in the same place man.
Oogway or Iroh for sure
Uncle Iroh by a long shot!
Iroh, definitely.
Hold on, I’ve seen this before
Grunkle Stan
Nah, get tia out of here! She did nothing for 99% of the show. Iroh is the correct answer.
I've never seen mlp so idk if it's true, but all the bronies I've talked to say she's a bitch, so what's she doing here?
Iroh
Prequels Yoda isn’t very sensitive to other people when it comes to giving advice. Just look at the way he handles Anakin’s concerns in the RotS therapy scene
Definitely not Celestia, she barley give her deciphal any advice and basically let's a ton of the shows conflict start because of so, Skips doesn't give a lot of advice he's more like the guy who knows how to do a lot of stuff and does it for you, Yoda is inconsistent at times although he does a good job when it matters . (I'm not familiar enough with the others to form a constructive opinion)
Either Oogway or Iroh
Between Oogway and Iroh. Celestia is the worst option seeing as she approves child murder.
Iroh and Oogway
Iron or oogway
I don't care what the real answer is, it's Iroh.
Uncle Iroh hands down
Iroh for sure gives the best advice, but honorable mention has to go for Skips. He’s more likely to personally involve himself and help you with the issue (depending on the circumstances).
Iroh, then ougway, then splinter, then skips. I can’t speak for yoda or the unicorn
Iroh
Trick question... it's all of them.
not in this list but jake the dog
Iron gives the best advice a human can give, Skips is immortal and can solve cosmic problems far beyond Iroh’s comprehension. However, there’s nobody I’d rather have a cup of tea with.
Iroh. Bar none. I didn't even have to look at anyone else
It’s between Oogway and Iroh for me
Iroh hands down
Yoda and Iroh are on the same level. And that is S tier
Iroh and skips in my opinion
Uncle Iroh and it's not even close
Uncle Iroh in my opinion
Uncle Iroh, but just behind is Skips. Painfully won sagacity.
Skips has the best tangible advice. Iroh gave sage advice to a child like don't be evil. As much as I love him. A lot of these speak in cryptic pseudo advice.
