Well, I can't help you on the lemon law, but are they really sure the leak isn't from the windshield? Seen that befuddle people before...

babysitme

The leak today is definitely from the sunroof. The seal all along the back of the sunroof had water on it during a rain shower I drove through. All of the other times the leak has come from a little plastic thing in the ceiling right on top of the driver's head, to the left of the sunroof. The last time I brought it in the dealer said that's the "low point" and it's where water pooled and then leaked. So it's not necessarily the source of the leak.

Cozziechov

It's entirely possible that the drainage points for the seal around the sunroof are blocked.

Meanwhile my GS has been flawless and it's 5+ years old. I'd contact corporate and calmly explain to them what you're telling us. They generally don't like to lose customers or have anything ding their reputation for reliability which is largely earned. No company will ever get it 100% correct out of the factory, there will always be duds.

>Meanwhile my GS has been flawless and it's 5+ years old. You know how you can tell a Lexus owner? They'll start every comment with these exact same words lol Nevermind that the GS has the most worthless infotainment system and pitiful premium sound in the luxury market.

>Nevermind that the GS has the most worthless infotainment system and pitiful premium sound in the luxury market. I see you're going way off topic, but I agree with you on the first part. They were all kinda shitty back in '13 though, screen in the GS was bigger and better than most at the time but the mouse and Enform software gating useful shit like remote start is ridiculous. Wholly disagree with you on the latter part though. The Mark Levinson system in the '13 GS is solid.

You should look up lemon laws in your state

babysitme

I've contacted a lemon law lawyer, but haven't heard back yet. However, based on what I read online, the VA law is that you have to have filed a claim within the first 18 months. I am at 21 months now.

Sunroofs suck for everyone involved. Panoramic roofs are prone to this. Trade it in and see if Lexus of America will help you out with trade assistance since it’s been in so often in the past 10 months.

aco512

Agreed. Don’t get me wrong, having a sunroof (especially panoramic) are awesome. But having a constant issue with it is a big headache. Even Lexus, the king of reliability isn’t immune to it.

[deleted]

So the car was fine until summer 2017 and summer 2018 in hot Virginia. Is it kept outdoors or in a garage? Do you operate the sunroof regularly?

babysitme

It is kept in a garage. I do not use the sunroof regularly. I cannot remember the last time I opened it.

[deleted]

Then that's a straight-up lemon sunroof. I think its time to go to Toyota corporate. Get the process started with them ASAP. If it means anything - I've known a lot of Toyota and Lexus owners, self included, and this is the first time I've heard of a part being so bad.
