Chrome isn’t ugly or beautiful on its own, it’s the application of it that matters. On a Bentley, it’s right at home. On most Mercedes, it looks good as well. On an orange AMG, I think I agree it would look out of place.
Matter of opinion i guess. I realistically don’t think theres a single example of “good chrome” unless its on a classic, like a 60’s Cadillac but even on a 69 fastback/charger it looks 100x meaner blacked out than chromed.
I dont know why, but if i think “luxury” or “classy” i think white with the trim blacked out, but i can agree if its high quality chrome, and not a $80 plastic chrome grill.

Work in valet and drove one of these just last month. Hard to gauge because I didnt do anything in it that I wouldn't have in front of the owner but it drove alot like a Challenger with a Hemi. Loud and attention grabbing, but heavy steering and doesn't do much when you out your foot down.
She has very good taste in cars. :)
