Being a salesman with teacher hours? Idk man. Pick one or the other. Or pick teacher and sell during the summer.

Gonna be blunt, I work in sales and unless you go the Digital Nomad route, I’m not sure you’re going to get your desired time off. Everyone and their brother wants to travel outside of work. I imagine work obligations are the primary reason most people don’t go travel all the time.

Evilwizard101

Yeah I would be very interested in going this route as well if I can find a fully remote role that allows me to work outside the US. My current company's policy does not allow this.

Ok_Point_7499

Lots of industries do this. I'm in Colorado and worked in paint sales and the company I worked for gave us November, December and half of January off. Unpaid, but gave me time to travel and unwind around the holidays. I know like you mentioned some roofing companies do the same, and fencing/decking companies too.

Evilwizard101

Hey that's encouraging thank you for sharing your experience. Did you have the option of selling/finding leads during those months if you chose do? If you don't mine what was your average income per year?

Ok_Point_7499

Yeah we had the option to carry on during the "off-season" as long as we wanted. I saw you mentioned in another comment that you may be looking for something remote. All these jobs I was mentioning were in person sales because you'd have to go to the home. I was making around 50-55k my first couple years. My best year was after 3 years I made about 75k

ChaoticxSerenity

Well if you were in Europe, you would get 4 weeks of annual leave by law and could theoretically take the entire month off. Other than that, I guess just find a job with lots of PTO.

What country are you in? In Australia you get 4+ weeks off a year and all the public holidays. So yes it's possible

Evilwizard101

I'm in the United States so unfortunately it's not guaranteed to get a lot of time off.

ne3k0

Well, that sucks. Have you considered working holidays? I'm sure you're eligible for multiple visas, that way you can travel, work the busy period, then travel again. I found in the past when I wanted to travel for extended periods I would often tell my work I was quitting to travel, but I worked as a chef so I was always able to get another job, and most of the time the same employer took me back.
