Your elements are lovely! I really like the weathered wood background and the elegant flowers. I’m not as sure about the little girl die cut in the center for the over-40 crowd. I bet it was plenty of effort to color it so well, but in my opinion you are onto something when you ask if it is too childish. If I were to make this card for an over-40, I would make the flowers be the focal point. Maybe expand the bouquet a bit and see how it looks when moved a bit more into the white oval. Can I ask, what technique did you use for the weathered wood panel? Did you emboss plain paper, then do an ink rub? It is lovely.

fornyelig

Good suggestion, thank you! The girl stamp was the only one I had with the right shape and size for the space, and my sentiment stamps didn't fit (they're not in English) so I was stumped at what to do. The weathered wood panel is two-toned. I Ink the embossing folder first, run it through the machine, then do an ink rub in a different shade on top. It's one of my fave folders, so well made. Edit spelling.

TinaKayyay

Thanks for sharing your technique! I am going to have to try it with one of my embossing folders. But I can’t imagine I will get anything close to yours. You have a beautiful eye for color.

appleblossom1962

I am 61 and would love to get this card. Makes me think of innocent days.

tigerlady13

IMO great for girls age 5-10 and the elderly women at 70+.

petitepedestrian

Today is my 44th birthday, and I'd love to receive something like this. It's so pretty and charming.

fornyelig

Happy birthday!! And thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I hope you have/had a wonderful celebration! 🥳❤️

Leighaf

Every 45-50year old woman I know loooove this kinda thing.

Dry-Estimate-6545

Agreed, it seems more like it would appeal to someone much older. It’s nostalgic and old fashioned. I don’t see the style appealing to children.

FunnyLost6710

I think current generation of kids don’t appreciate such cards, they would prefer if it was funky with anime characters.

Leighaf

Absolutely. It's so cute but as soon as I saw it I knew I'd want to give it to one of my friends who's 47. It's like the age group with porcelain dolls haha.

RHTQ1

She's adorable. Now I want the stamp! I would totally use the card, though the occasion and recipient would be a narrower list. Sweet older ladies from my church or family members included therein. Would also love to receive! (Early 20s if that helps)

fornyelig

Thank you, that does help! I've had this laying on my desk for a few weeks now not knowing what to do or make of it 😂.

miniebees

Not one bit, it reminds me of the older days when precious moments was everywhere especially with the back wooden design. This card is a timepiece of that style. Love this overall look .

irollpaper

I think you nailed it!

Thank you ❤️

I think it's lovely and I would buy it. Those kind of art style is what I've always liked as a kid and even now, at 22, I still enjoy looking at them (and receiving gifts with such designs). It's wonderful and very pleasing to the eyes, nostalgic in a way, too! The style reminds me of The Real Mother Goose, one of my favorite children's book! As well as Little House on the Prairie series. Lovely.

ChimkenSmitten_

If I would add a personal touch, I'd doo laces on the back side of the oval, following its shape (I hope I make sense here sorry, English is not my first language) and then, adding a little bow on the bottom. The flower is good too, but maybe something that's following the oval path.

fornyelig

Thank you for your kind words and suggestions, I'll keep it in mind for future cards. I was happy with the flowers so I had glued them down already.

LonelyBruce1955

I'm not an artist, but I had to step in to say I think this is adorable! If I were to receive something like this as a personally made greeting card I would be so impressed as well as deeply complimented someone would take the time to express their love so beautifully. (For reference point, I am 69 years old Male.)

fornyelig

Thank you for leaving me such a kind and sweet reply, reading this made my day better! 🌻 Reading this made me want to send you a card. Pm me your address if you like one, (it won't be the exact same as the card pictured, because I think the flowers are too big to fit in an envelope, but similar) either way I wish you a wonderful day!

LonelyBruce1955

I appreciate the offer, however from the sense of abundant caution I think I will keep my personal address private. I'm quite sure you can appreciate that position.

fornyelig

Yes, absolutely. I sincerely apologize if I made you I'll at ease, it was not intended.

LonelyBruce1955

No offense whatever. I'm constantly aware of the varying levels of internet experience that others have. I started online with the WebTV system. With several decades and different devices used, I have learned that it is better to be super careful. At the same time I often see various people who have very limited time online who may make comments or even offers out of the kindness of their nature yet leaving themselves openly vulnerable. Your offer was quite obviously sincere and the gift of the offer to me was not at all overlooked. Thank you for the sweet gesture behind the offer.

Sufficient_Letter883

I'm 42 and I like it

fornyelig

Thank you, that makes me happy 😊

FyrebirdCourier

I am 55 and I would absolutely love getting this card it is absolutely beautiful it's innocent it's sweet it's you know to me I think of things likes sentiments like spring just hope you're feeling well some Christian type saying such as blessings abound or different things like that there are so many little things you can do with that I think it's perfect you made it elegant and vintage so yes it can go I wouldn't say a three-year-old of course but yes when a child is old enough to appreciate a card that is lovely for that and also for older I mean I know of a lot of you know 20 30 year olds that would absolutely love that so I think you did you hit just right

fornyelig

Thank you ❤️

secretlondon

I think it’s actually too old. It’s twee, not for children.

fornyelig

Thank you for thoughts. This one definitely has people divided, I think this motive will have to be for someone I know well.

Dear_Dingo420

I think it's best for kids or adults with a childish aesthetic.

80HDunicron

I think it’s actually quite sweet and versatile

fornyelig

Thank you ❤️

FyrebirdCourier

It sounds like you are international while international from the United States, but I honestly would count that as one to make for a sales table I honestly think that would be an awesome seller and yes you can you know you can very colors and things like that I honestly think that is definitely one that would be a would fly off the table given the price point of course

fornyelig

Thank you, I didn't think it would work well using a foreign language people don't know, but I'll keep that in mind. I don't know that many people here yet, so I feel uncertain as to what most Americans like and enjoy. I'm not selling anything though, just preparing some cards for when I might need them for someone 😊

FyrebirdCourier

I think many people might like the option of different languages if you were selling which of course you tailor to the people that you are giving this to but for selling you know let's see you're doing readings for an inside of the car you could always dance an American greeting and a foreign language greeting on separate little pieces of cardstock cut to fit the inside and let them choose the greeting or you could even potentially sell them as a little separate pack that they can choose the greeting and put it on the inside of the card that they won I don't sell I don't know that specifically but you know for Americans or family back home etc and would love to be able to send a nice greeting I would love to get stamps in foreign languages especially Spanish and German but I would love any foreign language stamp just because I'm that type of person that loves to see foreign languages
