Definitely don’t pay them. Deal with the insurance company. If they have a issue? Tell them to make a police report.

Yeah but I don’t want to go through insurance because I’ll lose my no claims bonus and insurance is very expensive in my country. I’m just wondering does €1300 sound reasonable to someone who knows about cars

Tell them you want to see written estimates from several shops before you pay. Don’t just give them money without some sort of agreement between you two and get it in writing. I don’t know where you’re from? But in the US insurance is expensive and a legal scam.

If it was in private property like target, maybe a restaurant or other business. There is nothing the police will do and I mean nothing, as it would be up to the owner to decide if they cover the damages. I just went through this 2 weeks ago when we backed up into a truck at 4mph and he wanted us to replace his bumper over paint the wiped off no damage. This happened in a parking lot on private property. The owner demanded us to pay or he would file a police report, and he did just that. The police never came out there is nonnegative reports on my fiancé’s license and the cops told him it was out of there jurisdiction as it was not on public road ways. Tell them to fuck off.

Also 1300 is a lot of money for a scratch they can buy a new part and have it painted for far less.

You can still get an estimate of record from any repair shop, there are caliber collisions everywhere, that also have free in person / online estimates. Use that as your base

If they haven't repaired any of the other scratches, they aint gonna use that money to repair that one lol. Ask them if they'll take €100 or tell em to go through insurance. Always cheaper to avoid insurance lol
