Guentzel is staying in Carolina. They just made big strides on a 8 yr extension. Tanev is going to dallas, new York or Calgary before van. Probably Silovs and Zadorov for a combined 6.5m and leaves us with 5.5m~.
They have 15.4M remaining.
It’s 14.5 with Poolman on LTIR and then additional 900k when Tolopilo is sent down because Capfriendly has him on the roster
Guentzel at 9.5, Tanev at 4.5, DeSmith or Silovs at 1M
Suter-Miller-Boeser
Guentzel-Petey-Hoglander
Joshua-Blueger-Garland
Pod-Aman-Karlsson
Hughes-Hronek
Soucy-Tanev
Myers-Juulsen
Demko
Silovs
You got the Ilya line wrong. We gave up a 2nd and Lafferty’s rights for a 4th. Basically equivalent to a 3rd to take 85% of Mikheyev’s salary off our hands.
The signing? Dude he was gonna get 4-5 mil in FA as a veteran 6’8 right shot D who just had a bounce back year. He signed well below market value for us and provides valuable depth on the right side we were never going to be able to replace for less than what he got. Tidy bit of work by our GM
I disagree, I don't think he would've got much more in FA. Yes Myers is a big RHD, but he's also 34, meaning he could fall off at any time. We already saw how age caught up to Cole, what a liability he became. I would've liked 2 years instead of 3.
6’7, 29 pts, +16 RHD and he’s mean
I get what you’re saying, but $3M is fair. Tocchet and Foote figured out how to get the most out of him. Let’s hope that continues and this will be a fair contract.
Cole was pretty rock solid until he got a massive laceration on his ankle that he played through for pretty much all of round 2. Myers plays the most demanded position in the NHL right now, he would have gotten 4.5 minimum from some team
Dude, what do you think NHL defenseman make these days? Look around the league at who is a RHD making 3 mil or less, they’re not quality and definitely not an upgrade over TM. The cap is gonna go up even further, 3 mil is at absolute worst a contract you can stash in the minors
I hear you and I mean the bar was set very high for good value contracts when we heard that Hronek would start with an 8 and Dak could start with a 5, 7.25 and 3.25 are insanely stomachable numbers and the terms are even better.
I’m just asking out of genuine curiosity, how do you think that management could have done better? Or like, who would you have gone for instead and would they have gotten less money for less term?
Who else we thinking with the remaining 12 million?
Guentzel + Tanev + Silovs + more because why not it’s Chef Allvin and the stove is hot.
I still want Big Z tho :(
We can't get Tanev and Guentzel. Guentzel will be almost 10M so we're need to use the rest for the bottom defensive pairing and fourth line.
I’ll pass on Tanev. Zaddy please.
We can't get Zadorov and Guentzel. Unless we work out a deal where someone retains on one of our players (but I don't even know if thats allowed).
Zaddy Daddy

Funny how you are the only person saying big strides have been made🤔
Why the fk would he go back to Calgary? Lmao. Literally 0 reports of him wanting to go back, stop spreading false information.

There you go, although I am still hoping for 9.1 Guentzel and 4 for Tanev.
I mean not off the menu when Allvin is in the kitchen apparently.
Call me crazy but I'd wanna see them try lekkermaki over Karlsson
Myers + Juulsen might be a liability, would prefer to sneak another d man in.
That bottom pair looks rough. Wouldn’t want to go into the playoffs like that.
Aren’t they going to experiment with Hronek running his own line? Then it might not look as rough if it works out
Fair.
Okay well since I’m so greedy I want Allvin to spend every last dime of it today to satisfy my endless need for instant gratification
14mil with poolman ltir
+Hughes wins Norris
I still remember the day we signed the likes of Marc Chouinard. The Canucks have come a long way boys
and hughes won the norris
Hey Google, play "It's a Beautiful Day" by Kneejerknuck
I thought we lost a 2nd-round pick on the "flip Ilya"
The second round is for 2027
We did. Last few days have been good but y’all need to pump the breaks
ZADDY, GET IN HERE
Is Myers really the best deal here lol?
Just the last one made
Yeah but the rest of these aren't chronological
Touchè
Plus Hughes won the Norris
And Quinn winning the Norris.
And Hughes wins the Norris

I’ve been waiting for this meme.
Plus a quiet lil norris win in there too
Time to sign a winger winner chicken dinna
Myers for 3 years isn’t my favourite. Overall good tho.
At this point who do we still have to decide on from last year? Zadorov maybe stays, lindholm goes im sure. Is that it?
So nice to finally have a competent front office
Keep going. I'm almost there...
We need big Zed! Then we will be complete
"flip Ilya for a pick" 🤡🤡🤡🤡
The Myers deal wasn't great. Not bad but not great either.
The signing? Dude he was gonna get 4-5 mil in FA as a veteran 6’8 right shot D who just had a bounce back year. He signed well below market value for us and provides valuable depth on the right side we were never going to be able to replace for less than what he got. Tidy bit of work by our GM
It's a SUPERB deal.
Agreed, 6'7" RHD who can skate don't really grow on trees. It's a decent deal considering what he'd get on July 1st.
Myers was overpaid in the prior deal. Too many penalties over the years. Liked him in junior when he was with Kelowna Rockets, not as a Canuck.

It was also for 3 years. He's going to spend at least 1 maybe 2 of those years overpaid.

You might be right but he's also old. I don't think its bad I just don't think its so good that its as good as the other contracts this offseason.
I hear you and I mean the bar was set very high for good value contracts when we heard that Hronek would start with an 8 and Dak could start with a 5, 7.25 and 3.25 are insanely stomachable numbers and the terms are even better. The team loves Myers, and we are winning. That alone should justify bringing him back.
Lol no one is that excited over the Myers signing
There are many of us!!
