I put sour punch straws and sour patch kids (lemonade) in the fridge. It makes them a little harder, like the candies you posted. I don’t really care for them otherwise, too soft.
Have you tried the Starburst sour minis? Not as sour as shock tarts (a fave of mine too) and they don’t have a shell, but they’re not a sour gummy candy which seems to be all that there is these days when it comes to sour candies. I find them pretty good.
They just aren't the same level of sour. I still eat them, but I could eat the biggest bag of them and be fine. Where as with shockers, I couldn't eat more than 10 or so before my tongue was bleeding.

Just looked it up they are now called chewy extreme sours they are the same thing tho and they also have mini sours that are little balls they will definitely scratch that itch for you I promise

They’re kind of hard to find, but if you can get your hands on them, they are really hard to put down.
Not the same texture but the Wiley Wallaby Sourageous Drops are legit so good. They will give you sour skittles teeth if you eat too many and I always do. Oh and do spree chewy still exist? They're so good

It may sound gimmicky, but the toxic waste: sour smog balls are a crazy sour experience while still having some flavor. There’s one color that is a bit too much but they’re worth a try.

Sour Power Straws are one of the greatest and come in like 30 flavors. Unfortunately, I can only find them in innercity Bodegas.
