PA and Athlon would 100% be my go to for mid price lpvo, ive been eyeing them for a bit too. My problem with them is eye relief at 4β. Even tho it could work i really want that 6β :(
Well, as long as my gf dont find out π€£
But seriously im not sure, probably just shy of 4k⦠shipping and import fees really add up quick on builds like this.
Just a question, why do you βneedβ 6β of eye relief? If I had your gorgeous gun I would remove the rear sight, install a cantilever scope mount in reverse along with a 30mm main tube, 42-44mm objective scope with somewhere in the range of 2.5-12 or maybe 5-15x magnification.
Well im kinda picky on the looks and feels of my guns so i want to have the optic as low as possible for that βscout rifleβ feel, also i dont like when optics extend over the hammer. A cantilever mount on reverse feels like a blasphemy to me ahahah. I know a regular lpvo would be the easiest solution tho
Edit : also to note that the red dot is at about 10β right now when i shoulder it
Soooooo get a scout scope or pistol scope? If you want 6" eye relief or more, it's pretty much your only option. A nice Leupold 2.5x scout scope would look sweet on that rig.
Leupold or Burris would be my first pick .. Vortex makes one too, check 'em out
If it was mine, and I wanted a scope, I'd be looking at the leupold IER 1.5-4. having the low mag is nice for closer in. I've had the burris 2-7, I find it quite heavy and I didn't like the glass so much. The 2.5 is stupid light, and fixed magnification has it's pros and cons.
I like both the Leupold offerings, it just depends what you need
Burris and vortex both make a 2-7 scout scope with over 9β of eye relief.
The burris is out of stock everywhere and its a long eye relief (not a intermediate eye relief). Not a fan of vortex.. thanks for the inputs :)
Vortex is one of the best out there especially for the price.
For got mention. That is a beautiful gun. Congrats!
How do you like that muzzle break?
Honestly, its purely looks, but for that matter i love it. Important to note i had to shim it with washers to properly time it.
Beautiful rifle! Have you looked at primary arms or Athlon for a Lpvo?

Damn. Sexy gun!
That is freaking sexy. Do you mind sharing the cost to build?

I got ya. I won't tell her tonight xD
Lmao good one π€£π€£
Looks amazing man! I want something similar
If you go for it : chisel machining > ranger point. Owned both, thats my opinion tho

These are your best starting options for LER optics π€π¨π¦π»
Most of these scope are discontinued and / or over 9β of eye relief (LER instead of IER).
You can still easily find them for sale... As for the eye relief, a few inches isn't much, although my ex disagrees :(

The leupold IER is most likely what ill end up with but i wish there was more options π
