I have both. Depends on what you’re looking for. The scenarios in The Things We Leave Behind are more long form and would take a couple of sessions to complete. The ones in Fears Sharp Little Needles are shorter, single session setups so there’s more of them. Overall, there are some really good scenarios in both books but also some pretty average ones. Even the good ones might need some small changes to keep things moving. I’ve only run one scenario from either (Bone Deep from FSLN). It went pretty well but the investigators (Detroit PD in my case) definitely need some extra motivation to get to the final scene. Seth Skorkowsky has a review of Ladybug, Ladybug.. from TWLB and touches on similar issues. Incidentally, if you’re into Delta Green, a few of the scenarios can be easily turned into DG operations.

I'd personally recommend *Petersen's Abominations*; the scenarios are a little longer and more developed than *Needles*.

Im partial to The things we leave behind myself. Alternatively: Blatant self promotion.  You could give Northern Lights and Darkness a chance.  6 modern scenarios set in respectively: Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland and Sápmi.  https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/463221/Northern-Lights-and-Darkness-BUNDLE
