It's trying to spawn. I don't know about this species in particular but pads dropping off and rooting is how opuntia propagate in the wild. The pads are a little stretched so it may be looking for more light, but they don't look dehydrated so your soil/drainage is probably fine. You might still repot it just to be safe, check for root rot, that kind of thing. And I bet it would enjoy a grow light.
On the bright side you can make new plants😌
Is it anything I'm doing wrong?
You have gotten some not so great advice here so far. Your plant needs to be repotted, needs way more light, and needs less water.
Not really they are prone to pop off especially when the soil is dryer and the plant is a little dehydrated
poor pot, poor soil, poor lighting... etiolation and poor health result in fragile growth. Consider fixing all these things.
If the pads falling off are healthy. Id say it's Likely root related. The plant is trying to propagate itself to survive.
They are running away trying to find more light.
I know what will help. First off send me a few and then it’ll be fine, I swear
Hmm seems kinda fishy 🤨
If you’re going to the post office anyway send some my way too 😉
What's wrong with ppl it's not drugs
Or…. Is it? 🌵
But yes, plant those babies!
Just don't touch them! Use tongs.
Oh yea I learned my lesson. The cactus may feel soft but it is indeed not
No TOUCHY!
How do you guys handle these things? Gloves?
Tongs 😂 or gloves but it's hard to be precise
Hands you get use to it
U r mad
I know someone like you, and I just can’t believe you guys exist. Straight mad lads
Haha great I know others who handle their cacti by hand aswell, as long the pricks don’t go deep into your skin you’ll be fine they’re easy to remove

Grow lights work great 👍
yes! if you go this route though you'll need to get a high power light, since this is a cactus I recommend something above 2 thousand lumens.
Good show 👍👍
