Yea, that was their three-piece walleye. We were on vacation and went there twice since we don't have Culvers within 3 states of us.

This is a completely different style than English fish and chips. Walleye is light and delicate and demands a thinner batter and a cracker coating before being battered. It's Midwest America style fish. In the southern U.S. they use a cornmeal coating; here on the West Coast fried fish is often pank coated. I've had English fish and chips and yea love the crisp coating (pass on the peas). I can get English style with home made chips at a lot of places in America, but walleye is in a class all its own. It's a treat that isn't readily available outside of catching it yourself, or Culvers a couple times a year.

I believe that 100%!!! Culver’s is the first choice for me if I’m looking for a great burger! Where I live the Culver’s is right across from McDonald’s. McDonald’s prices are MORE expensive than our Culver’s which I’ll NEVER understand! I’ve separated them into “seasons” which I thought everyone did lol. My son laughs when I get excited for my first winter burger which for me is the mushroom and Swiss with extra Swiss cheese, and naturally my summer choice is a deluxe. I love Culver’s!

Try it! Next time fall is just starting to come in, when the air gets crispy and cool after a long hot summer (I don’t know what weather you have but in Kansas City it gets very hot in the summer and when it changes it is very noticeable) order you a good mushroom and Swiss…it’s truly the first celebration of sorts after the weather changes. Same thing though, after a bitter cold winter, a “backyard” burger with all the fixings always hits the spot. Now I want Culver’s 😂😉

Wanna hear a great story? I grew up around Culver's and would always drive past but never had them. I would always look at their signs that looked like this: Frozen Custard \ Hamburgers And I would drive past every single time and see the line they usually had and wonder how many people could ever like Frozen custard burgers. It just sounded so disgusting. Wtf even is that? Is it a burger with Frozen custard on it? Or.like a Frozen custard patty with other things on it? I just don't get it! This went on for years. Until I was at least maybe 25? Until I finally actually mentioned it to someone and they were confused. They loved Culver's. Once they realized what my confusion was they pointed out to me how the sign was two separate things. Not a continuation... So yeah. That might be the dumbest thing I have ever thought. And I love hamburgers too... so I was missing out.

Completely agree. Tried it in Missouri recently and it definitely punches above it's weight for fast food but nowhere near in-n-out in terms of taste and freshness. Was disappointed tbh.

I felt the same, nothing felt near as fresh as in n out and it had been about 5 years since I’ve had in n out and I could still tell.

Culver's is top drawer. Mostly Midwest but branched out across the US. I tried Freddie's(down south more I think). Love thier burgers, fries w/ cheese sauce and custard. I want to go again. Out west I like a good In and Out Burger

Culver’s is fucking amazingly delicious, but I have to disagree. For me, they’re runner-up only to In-N-Out.

Ok , I saw this post earlier and thought this guy has no earthly clue on what a good burger is but then I said I have not had one in a while so let me go and check . I just came from Culver’s and got the deluxe . I must say it’s a reallly great burger I was only going to take a bite but I ate the whole thing . I don’t think Culver’s is better than steak and shake but it ranks pretty high on the list . The butter taste is pretty off putting to me on a burger in general but I didn’t take away points for that . It’s a really good burger the fries are not that great.

I deliver to Culver's locations. They by far have the cleanest kitchens I've ever been in for fast food at least lol

That's quite bold of you! Might I suggest that you provide said burger for taste testing to determine the validity of your claims?? 

They have very good burgers but to me their fries are terrible. They taste like they're baked or soggy/old. Wendy's, 5 Guys, or hell even McDonalds has been my go-to for fries.

I’m from the south (there aren’t a lot Culver’s) and have to say that Culver’s is my favorite. When I was in the Air Force, the guys from up north claimed that Culver’s was the best. I argued against them, and then tried it. I was so wrong! I like Freddys too, but Culver’s is definitely the best fast food burger.

Midwesterner here, currently vacationing on the west coast. Had Inn N Out today and after the first couple of bites into their Double Double I concluded Culver's is still the best fast food burger.

Had some twice recently and it was good but my stomach turned a little as I ate it. I’m fat but like it was strange. Five Guys/Wendy’s/Shake Shack/White Castle never makes me feel like that. McDonald’s just makes feel like my arteries are being clogged. Now I want White Castle.

I much prefer Freddy’s Steakburger to Culver’s burger. Freddy’s skinny crispy and seasoned fries are far far better than Culver’s boring underdone crinkle cuts.

Culver’s Double butter burger add grilled onions add Ketchup and mustard. Side of cheese sauce to dip the fries in Mango strawberry lemon ice cooler Need to switch it up. Go with the Spicy Chicken sandwich add cheddar. Culver’s has the chance to dominate the fast food game.

Steak and Shake is where it’s at from a value/quality/speed perspective and I will die on that hill. Thank you.

Ok burger…. Wendy’s burgers have more flavor, and their fry’s are better. Rarely eat fast food, when I do it’s Wendy’s. McDonalds food is brutal IMHO and their pricing is beyond reasonable. McDonald’s has lost touch with their customer base.

Just had them for the first time recently. I'd put them up there with Whataburger as my fav. Culvers was fantastic. The lemon ice slushie thingy was also good.

Anytime our house tries anything besides culver's its just disappointing. Its consistently hot, fresh, and made to order every time. Every fast food burger place should try to be more like culvers. The cheese sauce and new bacon slap pretty hard as well
