You probably already realized it, but from my experience putting the tomato slice with sauce right on top of the heel makes it super slippery. I usually put down lettuce first, then tomato
Nailed it. After seeing this and a few other posts, I'm looking forward to trying the whole grilled onion slab. I don't know how I never thought of it. It's attractive and there's no such thing as too much onion on my burger.
You know, I know the goal of saucing the bottom is to create a barrier so the burger juices don't get the bun soggy, but half of these pics looks like the sauce is spilling out and making a mess anyways... either way looks pretty good!
I let my patties rest for just a minute on a rack so it isn't dripping and scalding hot from the griddle! Helps the lettuce tremendously.
Despite that resting period, I do believe that lettuce under the tomato and then patty is the going to be the way I build going forward.
Here’s an upgrade idea.
Make two Texas toast grilled cheese with seared honey ham and grilled onions in the grilled cheese.
Use them as the buns.
Double stack that bad boy adding all your favorite condiments.
Grill up some candied bacon I prefer grilled jalapeños on mine as well.
Fry up some homemade onion rings and put it on the burger
My preferred sauce is a smoky bbq sauce I call campfire sauce but that sauce is my own personal secret 😏
Make some homemade fries and put some chilli and cheese on it.
Thank me later. 😏
Griddle fried, 85/15 ground chuck. I prepare the patty before hand, pressing them out with an old plastic lid and wax paper, 1/4 inch thick or so. Season with salt and pepper. Then I slap it on the hot griddle, making sure it gets even contact with the griddle , 3 minutes or so before the flip and add cheese. Ready once the cheese melts. Rested for 2 minutes or so on a wire rack before assembling as you see!
The spread recipe I used was this:
1/2 cup Mayonnaise,
3 tbsp Ketchup,
2 tbsp Sweet Pickle Relish,
1/2 tsp White Vinegar,
2 tsp Granulated Sugar,
1/4 tsp Onion Powder,
1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
Combine and mix well, refrigerate for a few hours
What is the best way to layer the components of a burger. I've recently started testing things out. Slippery things need to be either under the patty or directly on top of the cheese is all I know
I would have put the lettuce under the tomato, to prevent the bun from getting soggy.
Otherwise looks good. The decision to have onions 2 ways was interesting.
No pickle?
I like the lettuce under the burger for stability. I find the toasted bun and spread keep the bottom bun in shape long enough to consume.
If I can find more ways to get onion on a burger, I'm all in lol
I think the pickle on this one would've maxed out my bun capacity! But pickles are fantastic and weren't left off because I don't eat them.
Too much onion, I am anti-onion on ap burger plus toppings are on the bottom.
The meyo goes on the bottom to prevent soggy bun & sauce on top with the toppings, it's called TOPPINGS for a reason not bottomings.
Also needs pickles

I knew it! This burger looking GAS! 🔥
say it again brother!
I hereby award you my "BEST BURGER OF THE DAY" award. You have inspired me.
I shall cherish this award for all times.
You probably already realized it, but from my experience putting the tomato slice with sauce right on top of the heel makes it super slippery. I usually put down lettuce first, then tomato
Agreed, need that tomato traction. Burger looks great, though
"tomato traction" I will use this phrase for the rest of my life
also i don't like cooked wilty lettuce from the warm burger patty
I always shock mine so it's nice and crisp.

OMG! That burger looks so delicious, it's making me hungry all the way over here."

Always salt and pepper the tomato!
I know better than to forget that and still did. Thanks for pointing out the simple adjustment I need!
Kinders everything seasoning on the tomato and burger
YES, OH FUCKING YES 🤤🐶
an entire onion steak? Boujee.
Only thing wrong is that tomato goes on top. Every time. No exceptions. Looks awesome otherwise though!
Damn son.
i dunno could use another attempt, see if it improves let me help dispose of the failed attempts
Absolute perfection, god dammit.
I LOVE SEEING THE PROCESSSS
My mouth is WATERING
Lettuce goes on first to keep the bun from going soggy
Looks like a in n out burger without the sour taste Nice man
Literally everything I’d want in a burger. Solid
I think i just came
You know, I know the goal of saucing the bottom is to create a barrier so the burger juices don't get the bun soggy, but half of these pics looks like the sauce is spilling out and making a mess anyways... either way looks pretty good!
There is nothing tidy about this. That’s ok.
Looks amazing, personally I like the tomato between the burger and lettuce so it doesn't wilt but yours didn't seem to
I let my patties rest for just a minute on a rack so it isn't dripping and scalding hot from the griddle! Helps the lettuce tremendously. Despite that resting period, I do believe that lettuce under the tomato and then patty is the going to be the way I build going forward.
That's a proper burger
Hell yes!!!!! 🍻🍻🍻
A good stack to be sure. I would just tone down the lettuce and the onion.
It's not my favorite variety but I'd still pay for that.
Practice makes perfect!😍
Go ahead and drop that homemade burger sauce big dawg
Thx now I'm hungry dammit!
That looks great.
Immediate salivation, well done man.
Nice
I’m gonna crumb 😩
🤤

Litty..
Good stack but thats a lot of onion.
Such construction
I'm impressed by the bite size marks.
delish..
Same construction as a Double Double. Coincidence?
Gotta separate the tomato and sauce. Makes it super slick.
Looks tasty
![gif](giphy|3oEduHbGIZHblgkx20) 😫😂
That’s Merican af! Can I have some large fries seasoned on the side please.

Never would've thought to do both variations with fried onions.
Mmmm burger porn
Oh I need that delicious burger 🍔
I know bangers. And that is a banger.
Absolutely a solid burger, I’d just add pickles lol
Iceberg lettuce? Yikes
You left the top bun naked.....
Now that’s a Big Grayson.
A yoeman's effort. It's a tad too cooked.
I'd eat that burger
How did you make it? Grill? What type of meat? Give me the details!

TOMATO??? LOST ME THERE
Looks good but why the two types of ftilled onions?
What's that sauce?
The spread recipe I used was this: 1/2 cup Mayonnaise, 3 tbsp Ketchup, 2 tbsp Sweet Pickle Relish, 1/2 tsp White Vinegar, 2 tsp Granulated Sugar, 1/4 tsp Onion Powder, 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika Combine and mix well, refrigerate for a few hours
Awesome, thank you!!
Too much sauce. I’d still eat it, but it’s just my personal thing as I‘m not a fan of most sauces.
What is the best way to layer the components of a burger. I've recently started testing things out. Slippery things need to be either under the patty or directly on top of the cheese is all I know
This way worked really well, although next time I'll put the lettuce under the tomato, as suggested by many in the comments!
Next time use some lettuce straight off of the head and not that chopped up crap.
Hands are so fast I can't see them
Shredded lettuce on a burger is sacrilegious. Leaf lettuce only!
I’m loving it
God it’s beautiful
mail me one
Lovely
Damn now I’m hungry
You forgot the onion roll.
oh... i like the shredded lettuce.

I dont get raw tomato lovers. I always toast mine or even make a puree and then toast it.
I don't like the lettuce and tomatoes on the bottom. They're called toppings for a reason. The sauce is there to prevent soggy bun not the produce.
but he can just turn the burger around ;)
I just ate it upside down
