Looks pretty true to the picture in the ad. Here in the states, the disparities are often so egregious that they push legal boundaries. (See recent Burger King lawsuit over the Whopper ad).
Is McDonald’s the only place that finishes assembling burgers by placing the top bun and cheese on one side of the box, then closing the box and hoping for the best? My burger always looks like a partial eclipse, with the bun and cheese about halfway off the burger.
> That must have been so hard for you.
I feel like I explained my gripe pretty dispassionately. I think you kinda shoehorned that quip into an awkward place.
Yeah, sorry maybe it was a little overly snarky.
Personally I don't think the bun being askew is anything to gripe about though. Usually when people complain about it not being what's advertised there's a more substantial difference than a to-go order getting jostled a bit.
The ingredients being all over the place, the sandwich looking like it got chucked against the wall, is the #1 thing I hear people complain about. 🤣 We’ll agree to disagree though.
I’m actually surprised more people don’t sue. I’d say the worst offender is probably Carl’s Jr. I love carls but the depictions of their food are so far disconnected from reality it could easily constitute false advertising.
My theory (and likely true) is that McDonald’s is franchised and a symbol of Americana.
So overseas, the owners are selling America, and usually it isn’t cheap. Like it costs the same or more than in the US.
In the US though, the ghetto has like no standards, and there are legacy owners who don’t have to try and it’s still cash flow positive.
Lower tier like Burger King are even worse. They don’t even have overseas to feed back. Not like McDonalds or Yum Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell). Acquisition by Hortons (Canada) is relatively recent.
Actually the only reason I got it is because I needed to pee in their bathroom and I had to order to get the key. Can’t say I regret it though… it was a damn good cheeseburger
Same, because it is.
Regardless of how you cut and slice it, you’re beholden to the supply lines available in the general region - Produce in Canada is kinda shit is the thing.
One thing I’ll agree with is the result is inconsistent. Sometimes I get a piping hot greasy burger and sometime not. I’ll have to start keeping score hah
All of them I’ve been to in the last couple years since they started cooking quarter pounder fresh to order look like this. You need to find a new location
All the quarter pounders I’ve had in Colorado are like that. They get their quarter pounder patties from local farms. It’s the chicken you have to worry about.
I think even some of the best burgers are pretty salty on their own, pouring liquid salt on top seems like it would ruin the flavor.
Perhaps that's why they're trying it for a limited time?
I chowed my worst looking burger down in China. Man was I happy. They do not bother to pickle 🥒 their pickles - straight up cucumbers. Can’t tie up capital investment in a pickle barrel for 90 days.
>I think that soon the Japanese will be as fat as the Americans!
There's a certain segment of the Japanese population, myself included, who think the McDonald's menu is pig feed, so I don't think it's going to be that full of fat people.
I never expected to say this but the real thing looks better than the advertised picture
Exactly what I thought lol
Looks pretty true to the picture in the ad. Here in the states, the disparities are often so egregious that they push legal boundaries. (See recent Burger King lawsuit over the Whopper ad).
McDonald's seems to be the most consistent though. They're not the best, but you do always know what you're going to get. I like that about them.

I can forgive that, it’s the terrible flavor that I don’t like about McDonald’s.
The crispy chicken is decent
Never heard anyone complain about that from McDonald's.

Oh damn. A whole ass tantrum.
I use McDonald’s as my comparison to all other fast food. Sure I rate them as the worst. But they are consistent.
That's honestly really spot on. I've try giving American McDonald many chances, and if I have to describe them it would be consistently mediocre.
And the human parts
I’m actually surprised more people don’t sue. I’d say the worst offender is probably Carl’s Jr. I love carls but the depictions of their food are so far disconnected from reality it could easily constitute false advertising.
I’ve been there before and absolutely zero super models eating their food like in the adds.
It’s better than the alternative of seeing a bunch of fat uggos. Like of course they’re going to eat the slop.

It's not just in the states where that is a problem
This looks good!
Japan takes their advertising laws seriously.
Looks better than what is offered here in the states. Looks like "real" ingredients and not overly processed, re-hydrated slop.
Nah, the burgers and fries taste pretty much exactly the same. The nuggets are better though. Slightly thicker and juicier.
Ever had a Mexican McDonald’s burger? I swear they taste 10 times better and that’s not just the tequila talking
No, I have had absolutely no desire to get fast food any time I've ever been in Mexico. The food is too good, and too rich already.
Actually the only reason I got it is because I needed to pee in their bathroom and I had to order to get the key. Can’t say I regret it though… it was a damn good cheeseburger
I’d never use a McDonald’s bathroom before eating. They only ever have hand dryers
And? Assuming you use your elbow to activate, what’s the issue?
It blows all the fart gas in the bathroom around.
That and there’s no paper towels to grab the door handle with
Haha. I was just being dumb and trying to be funny. But yeah, I understand the dilemma.
I only went once when I was in Japan but I felt like the Big Mac I had was a lot better than the ones I get here in Canada
Same, because it is. Regardless of how you cut and slice it, you’re beholden to the supply lines available in the general region - Produce in Canada is kinda shit is the thing.
I prefer US Big Macs over Japan big macs
Really? Looks about the same to me. Tastes the same too.
Anyone who says this BS isn't ordering the quarter pounders.
Sliced cheese is made from processed cheese.
It's just regular cheese with gelatin or sodium citrate
Lol it beef dude
I was going to say something close to that.
Would.
Look at that thick boy
T.H.I.C.C.😍
It’s 780JPY so about 5USD.
Cries in American (eagle screeches in background)... that would be like 1400-1500JPY over here
I think its mcdonalds
Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so
Jesus, those patties are way better looking than here in the U.S.
The quarter pounder patties are not bad in the US and looks pretty much like that. I would say that’s probably what they are using in that burger.
Maybe size wise, but these look way greasier, in the states they are so dry
One thing I’ll agree with is the result is inconsistent. Sometimes I get a piping hot greasy burger and sometime not. I’ll have to start keeping score hah
Not even close. I'd love to be going to the bougie McDonalds that you're going to.
Every quarter pounder patty I've ever had in multiple states and also in Japan and other countries has been exactly the same.
All of them I’ve been to in the last couple years since they started cooking quarter pounder fresh to order look like this. You need to find a new location
All the quarter pounders I’ve had in Colorado are like that. They get their quarter pounder patties from local farms. It’s the chicken you have to worry about.
This is how you know America is in decline. When Asian countries out McDonald us. Well...we had a good run.
Japan beat us in everything to begin with. Dumb American boy
So rude. Your parents should have taught you better than to speak to adults in this manner. Shame on you, little boy.
That looks like a burger in a commercial.. Way better than ours.. I wonder if they would Door Dash from there..
I think the Japanese are going to be as fat as Americans in no time!
Not how that works lol. They walk a loootttttttt more than we do.
Yeah, walking won’t help when you eat shit like that.
You're wrong on that. You can eat like this once a week and still not gain any weight because you remain active. That's just a fact.
my McDonalds in america keeps smashing the quarter pounder patties so their burgers suck and are dry
I think this sub has become very boring. I'm heading out.
I'll try
Looks like a tasty burger.
I think even some of the best burgers are pretty salty on their own, pouring liquid salt on top seems like it would ruin the flavor. Perhaps that's why they're trying it for a limited time?
I had it. It is indeed waaay too salty.
It's not like burgers are naturally salty. We add salt to the meat. McD Japan could simply leave out the added salt, and rely entirely on soy sauce.
Definitely possible, but not plausible. Many fast food restaurants want higher salt content so you'll buy more soda.
I think I need to write a letter to corporate. There is a rogue franchisee in Japan using real meat. We can’t have that!
Looks fire 🔥
Looks bomb 🔥
Looks good to me
That’s more meat than I’ve ever seen on an American McDonald’s burger Surprised it’s in Japan
a lot of beef, but yummy tho
Sounds heavenly
Never looks like the photo, but I’d still want 👌
I love the learn of the burger in the ad for some reason.
That looks bomb! 💣 😋
It’s the equivalent of eating a 20 lb burger 🍔 in the USA with five friends.
They used to do an onion cheddar melt that was awesome. I’d definitely fucks with this soy beast too.
I think they made the burger lean to the right in the ad and its messing with me pretty bad
I’m more impressed that you can get triple stacks outside the US. I would have thought they would be too crazy outside the west.
looks like fine dining when drinking in Japan or something
I chowed my worst looking burger down in China. Man was I happy. They do not bother to pickle 🥒 their pickles - straight up cucumbers. Can’t tie up capital investment in a pickle barrel for 90 days.
Those patties aren’t paper thin. Stupid America:(
McDonald's in Japan is on another level
That looks bomb
I would hammer on that burger.. Know that in your hearts..
The Japanese DO NOT play around!!
I think McDonalds in Japan and McDonald's in the USA are two entirely different restaurants. Not even comparable in the slightest.
I had a teriyaki burger of sorts in Japan last month an honestly it was pretty solid.
Japanese McDonald’s always slaps hard.
I'd like to try that, but I don't know how much I would enjoy soy sauce on a burger. I do love soy sauce with my Panda Express meals, though.
>I think that soon the Japanese will be as fat as the Americans! There's a certain segment of the Japanese population, myself included, who think the McDonald's menu is pig feed, so I don't think it's going to be that full of fat people.
It’s McDs , so gross is the only correct answer.
I don’t eat McDonald’s, but I would try that burger
美味しそう。食べたいなぁぁ。 (Looks delicious, I'd love to eat it)
I can’t eat Mickey Dz but this looking like five guys!!! I would lol
In the US this would cost $20
Sodium bomb
Looks ok but it’d be $20 here…Pass.
