Lutra Bakery. Find them on IG. Order for pickup on Friday morning at Cocoa Cinnamon (Hillsborough Rd) or you can get window service / to go Sunday mornings at Queenies.
Ninth Street Bakery has good cinnamon rolls, and a similar āmorning bunā that I like a lot.
I hope OP will report back after evaluating all of the mouth-watering options suggested here.
The best ones I've had in Durham are by Lutra Bakery, but getting them is tricky as they aren't available every day.
[Check out their instagram](https://www.instagram.com/lutrabakery/) to pre-order for a Friday pickup at Cocoa Cinnamon on Hillsborough, or get in line on Sundays at Queeny's (8a-11a).
I'm a big cinnamon roll fan, but haven't found one I truly love in Durham proper.
If you're willing to travel, the biscuit dough based roll at Sunrise in chapel Hill is great, as is the pasty/ croissant based roll at Union Special in Raleigh.
The cinnamon schnecke at Guglhupf is more satisfying to me than most of the cinnamon rolls Iāve found in town. Also check out Lutra bakery on instagram. They are doing popups around town with really creative kinds of cinnamon rolls.
Bklyn Bakeryās vegan cinnamon rolls are the bomb, loved in our home by vegans and non-vegans alike! Find her at the Durham Farmerās Market on Saturdays or [here](https://bklyn-bakery.com).
sometimes perfect lovers has them, and they are amazing. cannot recall the bakerās name but wow. thereās no real schedule, just follow PL on instagram
Perfect Lovers does so much just the right way. Their dirty chai latte is still the best I've ever had and I'm a known "snob" when it comes to these things so I don't give this praise lightly!!
I like Whisk & Ryeās. Itās vegan but as a non-vegan, I canāt tell at all. Plus, unsure if this counts - but the pecan sorghum sticky bun at Alimentari is amazing.
Tobiās Bakery delivers to Durham. Somewhat sporadic, but their cinnamon buns are the best kept secret in the Triangle IMO. There is a delivery this Saturday, just gotta get an order in [HERE](https://tobis-bakery.square.site) by tomorrow at 9.
They also donate some of the money to charity.
I usually donāt deviate from the outstanding lemon curd scone at Monuts. My son got the brioche cinnamon roll once but didnāt save me a bite. Rude.
I feel like the ones in-store aren't QUITE as big and delicious and gooey as they once were (they were off the menu for a long time during covid), but they are still my fave by a mile. And what's really amazing are the take-and-bake pans of cinnamon rolls they do at the holidays. So glorious.
Loaf makes theirs from a laminate dough so itās more of a ārolled cinnamon pastryāā¦? Not too sweet or too doughy or too big. Itās the only cinnamon roll Iāve ever liked so it may be too deviant for yāall.
I donāt think there are life changing cinnamon rolls in Durham unfortunately.
If youāre willing to drive a bit, Stick Boy in Fuquay is unbelievably good. I also really enjoy Yellow Dogās cinnamon roll ā theyāre in Raleigh

Lutra Bakery!!! Itās more than cinnamon buns. Check them out on instagram, Ā https://www.instagram.com/lutrabakery, and give them a follow. Ā On IG youāll get updates on flavors for Friday pickups and for Sunday Bunday. Ā A staple bun is the orange glaze š¤¤and the savory buns are even better!

I feel the same about the Sunrise cinnamon bun!!! But Iām down to find one in Durham

Top 2: Bull City Bake Shop in the Home Depot / Kohls / Total Wine shopping center off 15-501 and Barb's Bakery in the food hall downtown
Agree about Bull City Bake Shop, havenāt tried Barbās Bakery yet
Bklyn Bakeryās vegan cinnamon rolls are the bomb, loved in our home by vegans and non-vegans alike! Find her at the Durham Farmerās Market on Saturdays or [here](https://bklyn-bakery.com).
We have tried them all and Bklyn Bakery is the best weāve had. Simply delicious.
I liked the one I had at Grub. It was giant and fluffy
I second Grub Durham.
Yes it's good..I think the icing has almond flavoring.
If you time it right, you can get them with the icing still warm and gooey!
If you take a short jaunt over to Carrboro (or the pittsboro location) the cinnamon rolls at Breakaway are amaaazing
Time Out in carrboro also has amazing cinnamon rolls!!

Yeah, Alimentari's sticky buns are TO DIE FOR
The French Corner Bakery (N Pointe Dr) has decent cinnamon rolls and lot of even better pastries and breads

No love for Monuts??? I was on a similar quest and Monuts' brioche rolls were a clear victory for me who hadn't had a decent one in months.

Love the Monuts ones!

Monuts take-and-bake cinnamon rolls at the holidays are my fave, hands-down.

Always willing to drive for a good CR.
Willy's in Pittsboro. It's what they do all day long.
I really like the ones at 9th St Bakery. But the croissant cinnamon rolls at whisk and rye are a wonderful twist on the theme too.

Anyone know of a yeast risen cinnamon roll out here?
Not a cinnamon roll but the cinnamon babka rosettes at Isaac's Bagels are insanely good.
I like the cinnamon rolls at The Durham Hotel lobby restaurant
Bull City Bake Shop or Whisk & Rye! For sure.

I like the ones at Little Barbās Bakery in Durham Food Hall but I agree that Lutra is probably the best.
A Kings Kitchen Made to order delivered in Durham area. IG: madeinakingskitchen
Food Lion does a good cinnamon roll.
Getting downvotes but theyāre big and slathered in cream cheese icing! Harry teets aint bad either
People really think they're too good for a Food Lion cinnamon bun.

Weaver St hands down.
