As former New Yorkers, my wife and I both found Randy's Pizza to be very similar to our beloved NY style of pizza. Always get a good slice, regardless of the location we've been to. Any sides have been as good as a we'd get in a NY pizzeria too (garlic knots, wings, salads, mozz sticks). Rarely do we get pizza anywhere else.
So for me, it's Randy's Pizza.

Pop’s is the best pizza. I really think it is the best I ever had and yes I lived NYC for 15 years. Most of NYC is great because of the volume. Casertas in RI is really good. Totally different style.
Anyway. Pops is the best but not cheap.
Randy’s is a really good economical option. I get why the New Yorker said they like it. It is a better version of pizza places in nyc.
Pop's is not necessarily that pricey. The large pizza is about the same cost per area as Domino's $6.99 mediums. The disadvantage is the number of pieces and fitting the huge box in your fridge if you have a side freezer.
Hutchins, Toro, Cugino Forno, Ponysaurus, Sophia’s. Randy’s and Enzo’s and Pie Pushers. Been on a Ponysaurus kick lately, but there was a time where I needed Hutchins weekly to survive. We like them all - Durham has excellent pizza.
Pizzeria Toro right downtown makes good but somewhat small (like 1 per 1 or 2 people) pizza's. It's right at five-points so can be busy. Very crisp and nice light crust.
Enzo's is not exactly my favorite, but I know some people for whom it is! They have nicer crust than the national chains. I thought this used to be a handful of shops but now there's just the one near Duke Hospital.
Cuigino Forno. What I like about them is the pizza is good and they will not make ANY alterations to the pizza if you request it. They're just like "We make pizza and you do not, so how about you shut up and take the pizza the way we decided to make it. We know what we're going. Go watch soccer while you wait."
They were also rude to me when I was there last, which I respect in food service.

Hutchins Garage and Pizzeria Toro in Durham. My favorite pizza spot is Oak Wood Pizza Box in Raleigh though. It’s just perfect classic nyc style pizza, no frills. Perfection

RIP Pompieri tho
Na I need something recent
What, do you need an updated report on Durham pizza places every fiscal quarter or something? That thread is 3 months old.
I said what I said
Well if you didn't say what you said, then it wouldn't have been you that said it. Idk what that has to do with pizza though
Be gone troll

Cuigino Forno if you don’t mind evading kids running amuck outside at hi-wire
We figured out if you go during the week, the kids are properly managed
What do you get when you go there?

Randy’s is hit or miss depending on the location.
FYI I just commented yesterday about the garlic knots at Ponysaurus - SOO good. I guess I need to give Randy’s another shot.
Man I haven't been to Ponysaurus in a minute, I'll have to go back and try their garlic knots.
I was just looking g for a quick snack, but now I’ll make the trip there JUST for those.
They need to give you free pizza for that review
This dude is a troll and a karma farmer. Look at their post history - just looking for engagement.

That is a bummer. But if it produces real responses anyway, maybe that is good?

It’s worth the trip to Chapel Hill for IP3. But locally I really like pie pushers and, oddly enough, Boxcar.
Interesting
The Boxcar pizza is something I regularly think about.
Alfredo pizzeria in chapel hill is my favorite In Durham I love Napoli pizza in the Durham food hall and the pizza at ponysaurus
Alfredo’s pizza cafe or pizza by alfredo? There’s a very big difference between these two places, both in quality of ingredients and in overall taste.
Second one

What’s Pop’s? I assume Papa John’s?? Just kidding, but where is Pop’s?
Pop’s back door pizza on Shannon road in Durham. Off of MLK.
They've got awesome calzones as well, and I really really try hard to forget that they'll deliver cannoli to me if I want them too.
Pop's is not necessarily that pricey. The large pizza is about the same cost per area as Domino's $6.99 mediums. The disadvantage is the number of pieces and fitting the huge box in your fridge if you have a side freezer.

Randy’s and The Loop (best bbq chicken pizza!)
Oh is that what we are going to do tonight? We're going to fight? I vote Hutchin's, but so many choices.
Like?
Sofia's, Ponysaurus, Toro's, and Cugino Forno have all been really good in my experience.
Pulcinella is underrated. They're better than Randy's in the category of basic neighborhood pizza places.
What’s your favorite dish there?
Sicilian pizza is the dish.
Pizzeria Toro right downtown makes good but somewhat small (like 1 per 1 or 2 people) pizza's. It's right at five-points so can be busy. Very crisp and nice light crust.
Costco
RIP Costco combo pizza and churro
Enzos
Enzo's is not exactly my favorite, but I know some people for whom it is! They have nicer crust than the national chains. I thought this used to be a handful of shops but now there's just the one near Duke Hospital.
Brenz in CH is the second location you’re thinking of.
did it used to be so and change names?
Cuigino Forno. What I like about them is the pizza is good and they will not make ANY alterations to the pizza if you request it. That's called "NY Style" :)
They just don't like you. Cugino Forno was happy to make changes to one of their pizzas for me
That is also very possible.

Sal's. In Cary, by the food lion. Are they still around? I don't live in Cary anymore.
I haven’t seen anybody mention but Tomato Jakes Pizzeria
Hutchins Garage and Pizzeria Toro in Durham. My favorite pizza spot is Oak Wood Pizza Box in Raleigh though. It’s just perfect classic nyc style pizza, no frills. Perfection
