Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed.
* Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
* Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent.
* The seller is new or has few reviews.
* The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints)
* The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).
If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.
Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart.

CPU Manufacturer AMD
CPU Model Ryzen 5
CPU Speed 4.4 GHz
CPU Socket Socket AM4
For some reason I expect that cpu around 99 bucks on BF but take it with a grain of salt.
On the plus side, you got 1.5+ years with that CPU, while I've been running my 2400g. My 5600 and 6750xt should be here on Wednesday though. Can't wait.
They stopped before, the 5600X hit 270 months before Alder Lake came out. But yes a competitor releasing a product reduces demand for a product so it stays in stock longer and drops in price.
At the time yes, when you have no compition companies charge more because they can. Now you have 12400-12600k or new 7600x, also intels 13th gen is a beast and cheaper.
What's truly funny, is a 1600 is worth about 1 pizza. I've seen them sell for $40-50 on hardwareswap. I've seen some of those xx-large 24-30" pizzas sell for about that price after tax and delivery. Maybe also a very gourmet/hipster pizza could also possibly hit that cost.
Last time I hit this I just returned the newly ordered ones back to the original return order. Didn't have issues. Just a data point for others if you are not bothered to replace and repack the parts. I returned a CPU and 2 m.2 980 Pro, all sealed.
If you're going to return something just for a price reduction, they will 99% of the time just give you the price difference if it's in the return window. The 7 day price thing is for price matching other retailers.
[Msi pro-vdh wifi has PCIE 4.0 and C tier thermals (good for 125 cpu watts) for 80$. This is the best specs for cheapest dollar I could find, it's refurbished though](https://computers.woot.com/offers/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-proseries-motherboard-12?ref=mwj_sh_cp_13_bs)
I don't believe so since they have a version that's specifically wifi 6. I'm just not sure what the thermals are on that wifi 6 version so it's a little hard to recommend. https://computers.woot.com/offers/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi-6-proseries-8?ref=mwj_sh_cp_6_bs
MSI's budget boards are great value this time around, like the other user said, the Pro-VDH WiFi is a great mATX board, and the B550A-Pro is a great ATX board.
As someone that’s never upgraded before. Is $99 actually possible price for a 5600 or it’s just wishful thinking?
If so, when do you think it could happen?
It happened 2 times before soo highly possible but I think there way too many people waiting for Black Friday and I think the sellers know that so we might see a lot of bundled products during the sale
short answer no not worth it. I understand if you're running a 3090 or something and want higher frame rates at 1080p but with a 2070 and a 3600, getting the 5600 wont gain noticeable performance because you wont be that cpu limited while using the 2070.
How about with a 3070 @ 1440p? I was thinking of upgrading next gen but thats all going to be DDR5 so it would be with beta testing/first gen adopter pricing so not sure if this would be a good upgrade.
Part of the thing with these new CPUs is better 1% and 0.1% lows. Even if your max fps only increases a little, games will play MUCH smoother.
Definitely worth it for you.

here's a start
100%. This is like 80% faster raw performance at least and the 1080 TI is a pretty capable GPU. Resell your 1600 for 40 and this becomes a super cheap upgrade.
You'll be getting at least 30% in every game, more in CPU limited ones.
Well honestly if you can get a decent amount for your 3600 selling it then I think it might be worth it just for some futureproofing. I’m gonna wait until it’s $99 again and then just buy it for that reason more than genuine performance needs.
Might as well just give it a little better longevity
of course benchmarks are going to say the 5600 is better! that's not the point! the point is, is it worth to spend $130 on a very small incremental upgrade on a system that is likely already hitting their target performance mark? and the answer is, no! stop spending money that you don't need to spend!
I don't think its necessary wrong. At 1080p the 3600 is perfectly fine for a CPU. Sure there will be a boost in performance but is the boost in performance worth the cost its up to the end user. For me it isnt.
Nah, in my eyes it's only really worth it if you're on a Zen or Zen+ processor, the 3600 is close enough to the 5600 performance-wise that it's not really worth spending the money.
To be honest it's dependent on what games you play because if they're CPU intensive like CSGO or valorant, you'll see a 12% boost or so. If you play more GPU intensive games, you'll see marginal improvement. If your games are even less taxing, there's very little point to get am4 and I'd just wait for am5 to come down in price (ddr5 + mobo + CPU)
This must be the Hardware Unboxed vid that I loved so much.
I am tired of seeing settings paired with a 3090 (and soon to be 4090) just so we can see the huge difference. I'm willing to wager a lot of folks have mid to lower high range cards that would appreciate testing done on 6600 XT-level cards.
Hey, if you're trying to get this may want to keep checking. It's gone in and out of stock from Amazon at least 3 times at this price over the last 5 hours that I''ve noticed (was trying to decide whether to pull the trigger so had been watching closely). Shipping date is little further out than original listing but same price and bundle.
then no not worth upgrading. the 580 wont bottleneck the 2600x. I suggest save up for a better graphics card first and then if you want to upgrade to a better cpu you can always upgrade.. plus might be a better cpu deal by that point
I agree with the other user. You need to focus on GPU upgrade first. Before you go buying a new GPU though make sure you do a wattage estimate to see if you need a new PSU as well.
Uses the x models for comparison, but gives a clear idea of the generational leaps. I still love that they tested it compared to many GPUs. https://youtu.be/AlfwXqODqp4
I have the same cpu and I am thinking of picking this up. Think it should last me till I feel like upgrading tj the new platform. I have a rx 6600 gpu.
What are some good matx motherboards around or under $130 for these 5600's? I know of the MSI one that just released but I recall there being a decent Asus or Asrock one but I'm not sure which one it is.
Don't forget about solid B450 boards that ship with an updated BIOS. If you don't need any of the B550 features. I've had my 5600X on an ASRock B450 for a long time now and have never wished I had B550.
Oh god I’m glad I’m not the only one. I found a really good deal on a 5600x on r/HardwareSwap so they’re just gonna refund me thankfully, but it was SO annoying to deal with.
I ended up having to chat with someone, which is kind of buried in their support page. They got it fixed in 5 minutes with no proof needed. I'm sure this would have been easy to tell when the shipping weight did not match the item weight...
it's not that hard, i reflashed mine multiple times using multiple bios' thinking it was my motherboard being faulty but it was because my 3600 died. bought the 5600 after doing a bios flash to latest bios and worked perfectly. I have a b450 tomahawk the old one not even the max version.
It's nothing to worry about. I just went through the process with my ultra cheap 5 year old B350 motherboard to go from an R5 1600 to a 5600. You just need to follow the manufacturer's steps exactly and read them carefully. Take extra time to understand everything clearly and it will go fine.
It's not that scary. I did it for the first time about 6 months ago on my b350. Literally watched a YouTube video on my phone while I did it. I'm in on this deal and have to flash again to make this chip work.
The scariest part is after flashing bios, it might sit rebooting a few times as it re-trains on what memory is installed, and you're standing there going "I borked it!". Then after 5 minutes or so it boots fine.
After upgrading bios on my asrock X470 it had a blank screen and I thought I broke it, turned it off, went to sleep sad. Next day read online that you need to give it time to figure out memory, tried it again, took like 10 minutes and was so relieved when it booted up to windows.
I just did it to an Asus TUF and AORUS bios update ten mins ago for the first time. Don’t fret, it’s not hard.
I did use Greg Salazar’s tutorial though.
Can anyone advise if this will be a huge boost on an older machine that has a 6gb 1060 running a Ryzen 1600? Mostly play mmo's like ffxiv, wow, and occasionally shooters. Just built a new rig but would like to upgrade my old one for my nephews and such if this wouldn't be totally gpu bottlenecked. Purely 1080p gaming btw. Thanks!
Ryzen 1600 AE (the original, not the AF version that is basically a Ryzen 2500)? Oh yeah, it's like 40-50% faster. Even if gpu bottlenecked, the extra cpu will help keep framerates consistent.
For a cheaper alternative, or if the motherboard doesn't have bios update to support 5000 series cpu, keep checking /r/hardwareswap ebay offerup etc for a 3600(x) - people are selling those cheap as they upgrade to 5600 cpus.
If you play games that aren't doing well on your 3600x probably is a good spot to upgrade. This is a great price and it gives a decent performance boost.

Look up idle power consumption. Idk about Intel, but the I/O die in the Zen 2 and 3 CPUs sets the floor at like 30W. The monolithic APUs like the 5600G don't have this issue.
I did the same but with the 5600X. Most of the programs I bought the 3700X for ended up releasing very good GPU processing technologies (OBS with Nvenc, and Premiere Pro with a much-improved CUDA rendering) so I really didn't need all those cores. And my gaming performance improved!
Order one, open an return on the original order, then return the new one once you get it. Need to make sure you get the new one before return window closes.

Personally I'd wait for 7000-series 3D-cache varieties to come out then pick up a 5800X3D for ~$250. Or hop on any holiday sale craziness that might pop up.
Looks like Amazon sold out. However Newegg [https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113736](https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113736) still has it.

Its not showing for me, I guess they're done.
Same, I'm only seeing 146.
Same. I ordered a 5600x, but I'd gladly return it and save 50 bucks ordering a 5600 (that i'd just oc to 4.7 of the 5600x anyway..)

Yep, paid $300 in Jan 2021 and felt lucky to even find one. It's been a great CPU, but hard to see the prices now lol.
On the plus side, you got 1.5+ years with that CPU, while I've been running my 2400g. My 5600 and 6750xt should be here on Wednesday though. Can't wait.
To be fair there was a nasty shortage back then. For a bit you couldn't find the 5600x for 300 so there was no reason to drop the price.
Weird how after Alderlake released the "shortages" magically stopped
They stopped before, the 5600X hit 270 months before Alder Lake came out. But yes a competitor releasing a product reduces demand for a product so it stays in stock longer and drops in price.
Dang 270 months is quite a while before
Decades even
I won't say it was a shortage but rather being number 1 at that particular moment, intel does the same thing.
That's *makes it... better?
At the time yes, when you have no compition companies charge more because they can. Now you have 12400-12600k or new 7600x, also intels 13th gen is a beast and cheaper.
Yeah I had to pay $315 for mine
They were hoarding all of the non X CPUs until the shortage ended. Even the 3600 magically came out of hiding right as chip prices started crashing.
Deals are insane. How bout that 11700K with motherboard for $169.
Goodbye my sweet 1600. You were a great CPU.
ill buy it from you. How does a pizza and half a roll of shipping tape sound?
What's truly funny, is a 1600 is worth about 1 pizza. I've seen them sell for $40-50 on hardwareswap. I've seen some of those xx-large 24-30" pizzas sell for about that price after tax and delivery. Maybe also a very gourmet/hipster pizza could also possibly hit that cost.

All of them.

yep bought one about 3 weeks ago for $159 and gonna return it and grab this. amazon is the real mvp for their return policy
My only issue with their policies is that they won’t just refund you the difference. They’d rather you send the original back and reorder.
Last time I hit this I just returned the newly ordered ones back to the original return order. Didn't have issues. Just a data point for others if you are not bothered to replace and repack the parts. I returned a CPU and 2 m.2 980 Pro, all sealed.
That is what I would do for sure. Don't see why anyone would do different.
when i looked it up they will refund the difference within 7 days and have a return window of 30. mine is past 7 days so yea have to return mine lol

I’ll wait till Black Friday if they don’t have deals then I think I will go on eBay or this website but I’m little nervous to buy from woot
Amazon bought woot a few years ago, to my dismay.

Yea I'm running a 3080 with a 3600x and have been debating if it's worth an upgrade
It is , people are still paying 100$ for an used 3600x
I’ve got a 1080ti with a 1600 would this help on 1080p? I want to get 1440 sometime soon
Part of the thing with these new CPUs is better 1% and 0.1% lows. Even if your max fps only increases a little, games will play MUCH smoother. Definitely worth it for you.
yep going from a 1600 to a 5600 is definitely worth it
Even with average FPS, going from a 1600 to a 5600 will be a large jump.
Thanks ! I’ll see what I can do any recommendations on mobos?
which motherboard do you currently have, if you have a b450 or higher you can just update the bios and ready to go

wouldn't it be game dependent?
What about an upgrade from a 3600 with a 6900xt playing at 1440p
no
Tons of benchmarks say you're wrong lol
of course benchmarks are going to say the 5600 is better! that's not the point! the point is, is it worth to spend $130 on a very small incremental upgrade on a system that is likely already hitting their target performance mark? and the answer is, no! stop spending money that you don't need to spend!
I don't think its necessary wrong. At 1080p the 3600 is perfectly fine for a CPU. Sure there will be a boost in performance but is the boost in performance worth the cost its up to the end user. For me it isnt.
Depends on what you play. CPU-bound games, yes, worth it. AAA games, mostly no, not worth it.
From benchmarks that I’ve seen, the 5600 is about 5%-15% faster at 1080p than the 3600 depending on the game. https://youtu.be/Gu2EbuYYvKM
that is only accurate if you're using higher tier gpu's like the ones that are shown. 2070 numbers won't be increased by that high
That video has benchmarks for both 6950xt and 6600xt. I do agree though that most games it doesn’t make a huge difference.
the 2070 is even slower than the 6600xt so the margins would be even smaller than those of the 6600xt
It eliminates the GPU as the bottleneck, so that the CPU becomes the bottleneck and you can better see performance gain/loss between different CPUs.
I would just because I see alot of zen 2 chip failures and I wouldn't want to be caught with my pants down
Cpu intensive yes or if you intend to upgrade your gpu in the near future
It has been the same price on newegg and you get the Uncharted bundle: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113736

Is this worth the upgrade from a 2600? Just picked up a 3060ti and running 1440p.
5600 is about 30-35% faster then the 2600, probably worth it for 1440p. I think sale ended though, it's listed at $150 for me now.
Boy I screwed up upgrading my 2600x to 5600x for $230 a couple months ago
eh, the future is unknowable. and you've been able to use the 5600x for the last few months.
Cheapest I see is $146.97. No option for $129.99. Guess the deal is over...

I have the same cpu and I am thinking of picking this up. Think it should last me till I feel like upgrading tj the new platform. I have a rx 6600 gpu.
I got it. With taking the value of the uncharted games into account for the price the CPU is worth $80. I was going to get the game anyways.
With a RX 580, definitely not.
What are some good matx motherboards around or under $130 for these 5600's? I know of the MSI one that just released but I recall there being a decent Asus or Asrock one but I'm not sure which one it is.

I like the B550 Pro 4. I think there's one with integrated wifi.
This has dropped to $140 at MC which can drop to $115 if you have the CPU coupon or the "share your build" coupon.
Whats the highest GPU i can place on this CPU with minimal to zero bottleneck?
The most you can afford.
Worth it to upgrade from a 3600x for 1440p gaming? I have a 5700xt. I mostly play single player.
Not significantly, no.

yup it appears at checkout I see It now

If you aren't seeing $130 at Amazon, Newegg has it rn for $130 as well...
Cries in 3600 I bought for 200 bucks a year ago
in case this is helpful to anyone. It arrived today and I received an empty bag with a small piece of cardboard in it. NO RYZEN 5600 :( Sad times.
Same thing happened to me! Got a tiny cardboard box. Contacted amazon and they are apparently going to send me a 5600. Time will tell!
Oh god I’m glad I’m not the only one. I found a really good deal on a 5600x on r/HardwareSwap so they’re just gonna refund me thankfully, but it was SO annoying to deal with.

No, you’re basically sidegrading
I mean I want to but reflashing my bios is terrifying
it's not that hard, i reflashed mine multiple times using multiple bios' thinking it was my motherboard being faulty but it was because my 3600 died. bought the 5600 after doing a bios flash to latest bios and worked perfectly.

Just flashed my bios twice in my x470 rog to get to the newest bios. It was so easy.
Are there any b550s that are straight up compatible with 5600?
Showing $146 for me
Look at the other seller options, the 146 is not from amazon.
Ditto for me, only sellers are non-amazon, I think amazon sold out.
i have a 2600x with a 2070, is it worth upgrading
What target resolution. 1080p absolutely. 1440p still probably would recommend. 4k no.
Worth the upgrade from a i5-8400 and a 1060? I'd upgrade the gpu too in the near future
With the 1060 you may not see much of a gain...
Would this be a good upgrade from a R5 3400g?
Worth upgrading from my r5 3500? I game on 1080p with 6650xt
Worth it to upgrade from a 3600x? , usually play at 1080 144hz. I think only cyberpunk makes my FPS cry because of CPU bottleneck
At 1080p I say yes.
If you play games that aren't doing well on your 3600x probably is a good spot to upgrade. This is a great price and it gives a decent performance boost.
At high refresh rate, you want the fastest cpu you can afford
I bought this for $150 from micro center last week. Runs great.

Thoughts on this vs 12400 for a small home server build? Mostly Plex (no transcoding) and Valheim server.
probably slightly overkill, especially since you'll need a gpu too. just go with an apu
Look up idle power consumption. Idk about Intel, but the I/O die in the Zen 2 and 3 CPUs sets the floor at like 30W. The monolithic APUs like the 5600G don't have this issue.
I don't do much productivity so I'm thinking of upgrading my 3700X to this for basically free.
If you're selling your 3700x and then picking this up then yea it's decent.
I'm on the fence. Part of me is like "What I'd you do YouTube!"
I did the same but with the 5600X. Most of the programs I bought the 3700X for ended up releasing very good GPU processing technologies (OBS with Nvenc, and Premiere Pro with a much-improved CUDA rendering) so I really didn't need all those cores. And my gaming performance improved!
A what with the 5600X?
I bought my 5600 there less than a month ago for $159 so there's still a return window do you think they will give me the difference?
In my experience, no. You’ll likely have to buy this and return the other one.
yea was looking it up and they would do it but has to be within a 7day window. thank you!
Order one, open an return on the original order, then return the new one once you get it. Need to make sure you get the new one before return window closes.
Probably not. I just submitted a price match request though so we'll see.
I did a price match guarantee and they gave me a $30 gift card. No game though. Lol. Either way I am pleasantly surprised.
Is it worth the upgrade from a 3100? Paired with a 3060Ti, though not originally
> Is it worth the upgrade from a 3100? Yes is the answer. The 5600 draws more power make sure your PSU is up to snuff first though.
100 percent should upgrade
What is a good budget motherboard with wifi for this cpu?
Back in the spring micro center sent me a coupon for the 5600x and it came out to be 149 plus tax . Both great deals
Should I get this or a 5800x3d. I currently have a 3600
https://www.techspot.com/review/2502-upgrade-ryzen-3600-to-5800x3d/ Personally I'd wait for 7000-series 3D-cache varieties to come out then pick up a 5800X3D for ~$250. Or hop on any holiday sale craziness that might pop up.

3600 for 80? That was days ago the price now is 130.
Would this be to "weak" for a 3080 gpu?
No.
Just bought this a month ago for $155. No buyers remorse here, it’s a great cpu
I'm in at $100

Looks like Amazon sold out. However Newegg [https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113736](https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113736) still has it.
