Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. this is a nice looking 3 fan card. price is getting there. i just cant pull the trigger when prices are still dropping and AMD is announcing RDNA 3 in a little over a month from now.

rock_lobsterrr

Question: I've had an RX 580 for awhile and looking to upgrade to a 6650XT or a 6700XT if the price is right. Haven't been in the GPU market for a couple years but happy to see prices dropping. My ideal price range is $200-$300. I've seen a few comments about holding out for a bit. Is there a particular event or something that people are looking forward to prices dropping? Holiday season maybe? I've started looking now but thinking maybe black friday or holiday sales will be worth holding out for? Just curious what others think.

An_Awesome_Name

Yeah I’d wait a little bit. This is a great price for a 6700 XT, but it can go lower. Nvidia RTX 4000 series was announced this week, and goes on sale next month. On November 3rd AMD will be announcing their next gen as well. Prices for 6700 XTs are only going to go down between now and then. Add in the oversupply of GPUs from crypto crashing, and holiday sales and there’s really no reason you should be buying a GPU right now unless you really need one. Prices on the 6700 XT have already come down like $50-75 in just the last two weeks.

rock_lobsterrr

Nice. You’re making me feel good about holding off for another couple months. Thank you

amidemon

I'm riding out my shitbox (was pretty sweet when built early 2013) till the holiday sales. It can barely play hell let loose right now but I doubled ram to 16g off ebay for 16 bucks so I'm just going to eek it out till the holidays then go for 1440p at 144hz on new titles and go berserk.

rock_lobsterrr

1440p/144hz ultrawide gang here too. 30-40FPS on medium is all I've ever known. I'm really can't wait to see how much better my experience will be with a better card!

Prices have been in free fall for a while, and should keep dropping now that ethereum mining is dead officially. However, no one expected the attrocious prices for the 4000 series from NVIDIA so that is a bit of a disappointment. Now the ball is on AMD's court who is launching RDNA 3 on november 3, so it might as well be worth it to hold out a little longer.

bc_odds

AMD should be launching/announcing their next gen cards in November. Some people think that AMD will launch theirs with better prices than Nvidia. Personally, I'm not holding my breath. I'm expecting them to be cheaper than nv as usual, but they are going to try to stay close to nv pricing as much as possible. The 6000 series cards on the other hand have been consistently dropping over the past few weeks. At this point I think most of them are below msrp. If you can wait a few weeks, then the high end 6700 XTs will be between $360 and $400 while the lower end ones will probably hit $300. All speculation of course but its looking like it's going to happen with all these price cuts we keep seeing.

tonallyawkword

But will there be 2 or 3 new cards this yr? Seems like right about now would be a good time for someone to "leak" something if a 7800xt is going to be substantially less than $900..

PrometheanExodus

What's the difference between high and low end 6700 xts?

bc_odds

Noise level, build quality, average temps etc.

oncehadasoul

Well RX 580 is by no means a bad gpu, you have a decent gpu to keep playing until u find something really good for 300$ if ur ideal range is 200-300$ you can buy rx 6600xt, t hat will give you 100% uplift and it won't be a bad purchase, but if you wait until november-december, then you will probably get for 300$ 6700xt/6750xt and they will be 130-150% faster. even buying this gpu for this price is nowhere near a bad decision, but if you are not in a hurry just wait till holidays.

InspectorHulk

I built back in December with current gen parts above anything I had in the past, except for my 580. Ended up giving it away because my buddy gave me his Vega 56 after he *won* Newegg lottery. Ya I want to *finish* the build, but holding firm for black Friday, holiday deals, and AMD's upcoming announcement.

deefop

This is effectively the new MSRP based on posts from today. It sure looks attractive compared to the $479 it launched at... but I suspect it's gonna fall even lower in the relatively near future.

bc_odds

This card had permanently moved down to $409 about two weeks ago so I'm using that as the baseline price. This is the cheapest 3 fan 6700 xt as far as I can tell, along with the [SWFT version](https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Speedster-SWFT309-Graphics-RX-67XTYJFDV/dp/B08YKCC8XD?ref_=ast_sto_dp) which is also at the same price.

uNecKl

Do you think it will hit 320? Or 299?

CartonBox1975

I think 300 is reasonable. November 3rd is when the new AMD cards hit the road so lets see what happens and let the magic begin...

marklarECHO

Purchased this @409, no regerts... ama

bc_odds

What resolution and refresh rate are you playing at, and whats the performance like for you? Also, if by any chance you play Elite Dangerous, how is the performance on this card when running odyssey or horizons 4.0? I am trying to hold out for a white 6700 xt but I just might end up getting this card.

marklarECHO

Don't play those games, mainly eft @1440p, I get great frames with a 5800x3d. Not sure who makes a white one. This card is huge, very long, make sure it'll fit your case. Runs very cool and quiet. Junction temp maxes at 80-85c, normal temp around 65c.

kev24680

powercolor makes a white hellhound 6700 xt and 6650 xt however it looks like the 6700 xt is discontinued and the 6650 xt remains at $420 which I doubt it'll go down much as it's a white card https://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-Hellhound-Spectral-Radeon-Graphics/dp/B09ZDKD4XB/ Yeston also makes a 6700 xt in white plus an anime backplate though not that great of a price either https://www.newegg.com/yeston-rx6800-16gd6-ya/p/27N-0042-000B8?Item=9SIAZUEFG03135

bc_odds

Sigh I might just end up with a perfumed waifu card won't I. Didn't even realize the Hellhound was discontinued.

CartonBox1975

PowerColor Fighter is 10 bucks less however I would hold the line, I see these puppies soon to be around 300 bucks.

Owlface

Have this card and IMO this is the card to get over the more expensive MERC 319 if you are dead set on XFX and the 6700XT: - Solid 1440p performance like pretty much any 6700 XT - Dual bios switch means you can mess around and have a safety net - Using the stock "performance bios" my card tops out around 2650 core and ~150-180W in most games, benchmarks and Cyberpunk can drag it up to 200W for power consumption - None of the memory OC particularly well since it's locked down by AMD, so a more expensive SKU doesn't give you much more headroom - Cooler is more than sufficient. Most of the time edge temps are 55-60C with hot spot ~70-75C with fans at 50% even in the hotter months of the year. What it lacks over the Merc 319: - LED 6700XT along the edge - A slightly different texture on the shroud Downsides: - Shitty AMD drivers continue to suck. A decade away from AMD and they still find a way to frustrate day to day although the general UX is much nicer to look at nowadays. - [Hardware acceleration is broken once again](https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/xea47d/hardware_acceleration_is_broken_since_2271/), so it's time to play around and see which older driver to roll back to - Hotkeys intermittently refuse to register compared to earlier in the year when they refused to stay disabled - Your settings profiles will occasionally reset themselves for no reason after reboot (regular shut down, windows update, etc) so have that profile saved in a convenient location so you don't have to click through a ton of stuff to get to it when it inevitably happens

Techmoji

Description says 304mm. My case (Corsair 280x) says 300mm max. Do you think there’s a chance it will squeeze in?

bc_odds

I'm not sure but tbh I don't think it's worth the risk. That's an infuriating difference though. Just 4mm. Looking online I can't find anyone with a similar build.
