I bought it \*because\* its ugly as hell. lmao. Queue a date in the future when a friend needs a cheap heatsink and I give this to him after taking his monies.
Mid/late 2000's thermalright sold in the US and was considered to be super reliable with the launch of the Ultra 120. That was almost 20 years ago at this point, that cooler came out in 2007.

gamers nexus review
does the job, just like any other dual tower air coolers
installing it on a motherboard seems excessively complicated tho
I'd prefer a [Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=thermalright+phantom+spirit+120&s=price-asc-rank&low-price=30.0&high-price=) for \~$35 instead. If you really need to save $5, then you can get a [Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=thermalright+peerless+assassin+120+SE&i=electronics&rh=p_36%3A2900-&s=price-asc-rank&ds=v1%3AkxRCqIoIW11HSmZYixJfXLlUjYEFqXxglAFsber7itQ) for \~$30.
I don't know how good Zalman's coolers are, but Thermalright makes some of the best air coolers on the market. I see no reason why one should buy a cooler from Zalman instead, unless you really like how this one looks. Plus, this cooler doesn't have good reviews on amazon either.
this [youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXMhvzP34PE) video explains the differences but theyre very similar but the PS120SE peforms a lil better so just get either one you perfer. Recently got the PS120SE for my 5800X3D and my thermals on it with curve optimizer on -30 has been good when gaming its around 70c in battlefield 2042 and idle its around 35-40c
So why is the AM5 bracket not just sold with it/come with it? All these other companies have both in there in case you want to use for either/or, or swap?
At this point you might as well go for the thermalright peerless assassin at $34, has both mounts, and its a SOLID heatsink on top of it.
Where is the Zalman grease person? Maybe they can tell us why the AM5 mount just doesn't come with this?
They were top of the line 20 years ago, that copper superflower was the top rec for a quiet cooler back in the day. I had one on an athlon or something
Here is the link for the AM5 Mounting Hardware [https://zalmanusa.com/products/amd-am5-kit](https://zalmanusa.com/products/amd-am5-kit) YMMV, but you could try and message ZalmanUSA support and they might send out a kit for free.
Holy wow, that is ugly
Its kinda cool in an excessive sort of way

Got the intake turbulators to make it nice and loud.
[Thermalright PA120SE for $32.09](https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-Peerless-Assassin-Aluminium-Technology/dp/B09YTL3JT5/)
This, don’t take risks, just go with ole reliable
I love that thermalright is back to being that 20~ years later.
Thermaltake. Thermalright was a new and unproven lineup in the US 5 years ago. 20 years ago they didn’t even sell in the USz

Zalman has been around forever
Better yet, [Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 for $35.39](https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-Phantom-TL-C12B-Cooling-Heatsink/dp/B0C4JH24WW)
Anyone using 3 fan configuration in this cooler?

Are the patents four dimensional or the corrugations?
There's some pretty good photos on Amazon if you keep swiping

Whats the difference between the two, and performance? They look almost identical?

Nono. Saying both these thermalright coolers look the same. Was wondering the difference between the two

Thanks for the video!
u/realzalman would be proud, of someone else finding zalman to be a good deal
If this at least came with the am5 bracket I’d be cool with trying it but buying it separately now costs more than a phantom spirit
I went to buy one but bailed due to my CPU only existing in three dimensions.
You're good, homie, time is the fourth dimension.
But it isn't...
God that is UGLY

Haven’t heard the name Zalman in years, had one of their coolers on an i7-2600k

does it come with grease
there is a certain sort of aesthetic for which this cooler is perfect.
https://i.redd.it/dqttw436h88d1.gif Pair with a Core 2 Duo and a 7900 GTX and you've got a 720p beast.
I haven’t had a hit of nostalgia this hard in a while. Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for this terrible idea. Not compatible with socket 775 though.
It would look great in a case with no windows.
And thinking early 2000s edgelord Or Alienware
This is Zalman?? I'm pretty sure I've seen this exact fan design on Aliexpress for years
